Just go into it with tempered expectations! Was it a great book? not really. Did I have a great time? yes!

I clicked on this so fast because I saw Holes. Its one of the first books I remember reading and loving. Now as an adult I've read it so many times and it still remains one of my top books of all time. The movie is one of my favorites of all time too. One of the best adaptations ever!!

I quote the movie all the time! I absolutely adore it. My daughters have been trying to get me to stop singing the song "If only, if only..." 😅

In the lives of Puppets has been sitting on my shelf for a long time - it will be my first TJ Klune book before (which of his others did you like the most?) Holes!!! Wow I forgot about that book - it was so popular when I was younger! I also read Sign Here a little while ago - agree with your review. Was hoping it would be funnier than it ended up being.

I would start with The House in the Cerulean Sea for TJ Klune. I really loved that one! 😊I'm glad I'm not alone on Sign Here. I was rather disappointed.

I've never heard of that David Sedaris book, which is strange. I'm not a huge DS fan, but my friends are and they talk about him all the time!

I hadn't heard of it either until I found it by chance this last week! For some reason I just really click with his writing/humor.

Ahh I read Holes in school and LOVED it, also saw the movie a gazillion times, it’s so fun😊 I remember reading the YA „sequel“ to Small Steps too. It doesn’t have the charm of Holes cause it’s YA but you get to follow Armpit!
I didn’t like Under the Whispering Door as much as House in the Cerulean Sea - which is getting a sequel!!
Tried Sedaris but he isn’t for me😅

I have heard about the sequel to Holes but I have always been a little wary of picking it up. I know it can't live up to the first one! I didn't know that House in the Cerulean Sea was getting a sequel! I will have to watch for that 😊 I think Sedaris could be a love or hate kind of thing. I think of him as a strange uncle that has great stories to tell that are often bizarre.
