    What a fabulous treat! Love the interior of the lounge, so very beautiful and elegant! Ooo Indian Momos - they are delicious!! This all looked super yummy and i really like the twist they have done on the British afternoon tea! Fabulous!

    I live in Cheltenham and this is a fantastic restaurant and bar. Not tried their afternoon tea but had their evening meals which are excellent. Also have very smart toilets!

    That looked really delicious. Michelin mentioned too I noticed. I think that is an afternoon tea I could really go for. Although traditional cucumber sandwiches and cakes do have a certain appeal too. Not with tea though. A massive iced coffee with ice cream and cream instead.

    Indian afternoon tea is new to me too- despite me living in city with a very high South Asian population. I'd love to tery something like that for a chang from good old British afternoon tea!

    What an interesting concept, I was impressed by the portion sizes, that would have been lunch not afternoon tea! I'm a total wimp when it comes to spicy Indian (or any other type of spicy food) I tend to ask for not much spice, a grain will do!

      After two days we are usually over jet lag. Feeling great now! That restaurant is very upscale Indian food. They do have evening meals, but they are a bit pricey. We wanted to try the "afternoon tea" because a friend recommended it and it sounded creative and unique 👍👍

    Must admit, I've never had an Indian afternoon tea. And like probably most English, I've never been out for a 'regular' afternoon tea either! (Just teasin')
    Must admit, I am slightly jealous of your current lifestyle, but I imagine you've both worked hard over the years to achieve it.

      I have talked to many English people who have not been to a full-blown afternoon tea. I think it's definitely a touristy thing that Americans love to do, and English people don't do as often as we Americans imagine! Lol

    You must have been absolutely exhausted! Perhaps not the best thing to do after getting off a long flight? The salmon looked excellent. A distinct Bengali influence in that lot? Namoshkar, Didi/Appa and Dada/Bhaiar-ji.

      We WERE tired, since we don't sleep on the overnight flight!! But honestly I love food so much, it helped me stay awake. And we were so excited to see our friends! But FILMING was possibly a mistake... since I was looopy! haha

    Hi Dara, it's one of the other Ian's. Why would you decide to arrive back in the UK on the Friday and go out with your friends in a few hours? Me personally having travelled back and forth over the pond many times I'd want 24 hours minimum to begin my recovery 😆

      They were very sweet friends who had just driven our car an hour and a half to meet us at the bus stop. We wanted to thank them. And I wanted to eat out since our flat had NO food in it! It actually helps keep me awake to eat... but trying to film was a bit ridiculous! haha

    That's not how you pronounce Memsahib. It's more like Memsarb. The 'i' is silent.
    That tea looked good. After reading Maw Broon's Afternoon Tea book I think she would call it High Tea, not Afternoon Tea, but as my mother would say, 'It all goes down the same way.'
    I think the jam on the dessert is mixed fruit consisting of Strawberries, Litchis and Red Plum which makes a naturally coloured deep red jam.
    I've never seen Bombay Mix in a meal before. I've only seen it as a snack on its own.
    Your jetlag is exactly how I felt the day I met both of you for a meal. 😴 💤😂
    Hearing the Welsh accents has reminded me that Dolly Parton has found out from a TV programme that her ancestors were Welsh.

    Dara & Ian. Yes it’s called Tiffin. Your pronunciation of Memsahib’s. isn’t quite right. Unfortunately its not phonetic. The sahib is more like sarb. A Memsahib was often referred to the English leader or man in charge and often sounded like “Memsarb”.
    In Bombay and other cities the locals have deliveries of lunch either hot home made or bought in, boxes or tins called Tiffin Boxes.
    A great video however. Hope you liked spicy food.
    Your friends sound really Welsh, their accents are definitely Welsh!

      The one thing you can be sure of is that I will slaughter the pronunciation of things! 🤣 If you go to the Memsahib website, they say how to pronounce it and it is not how I said it nor what you were saying! 🤷‍♀️

      I​@@MagentaOtterTravels I was in British Colonial Kenya in 1960 (yes I am old enough) and the Africans used to call me Memsahib. - pronounced MEMSARB. It refers to a white lady of the house. Not a male as one of your commentators said.
