In England I think we only had the T140V Bonneville with straight bars in 1977 Jubilee edition, and the 1000 models that you have 1 of were exported. When Edward Turner was in charge of triumph they exported more bike's to the USA than any other country.

You could buy both in UK but US version was harder to secure than the boxy tank UK one due to export demand and as said Triumph underestimated that.

Cool bike. I'd probably put slightly lower bars on it, like the ones that came on the 1970 Bonneville.. Why do some bikes have bluing on the exhaust pipes and others don't? I've see it on modern Triumphs as well as on older bikes...but not all of them have it. I realize it's from the heat, but like I said, not all of them turn blue... and sometimes they turn blue in random spots, not just at the top of the header which is the hottest spot on the exhaust.

In 1977 I rode my '71 Bonnie on a camping trip thru New England, New Brunswick, PEI & Nova Scotia. At one of the campgrounds in Canada, somebody told me there was one of these in town, for sale, that had been repossessed. I stopped in to check it out.
The first thing I thought was, "that blue paint on the chrome rims will be flaking off in no time"!

Dad back in the day had a BSA Bantam 175 and a 650 Road Rocket . So jealous he didn't keep them and pass them on

My first bike was a 1958 Bantam 175cc! I was around 10 or 12 in the mid 60's when my dad bought it for me to use on the trails near my house.
