Hi Emma, thank you for your encouragement and motivation. You're absolutely right that we don't need to strive for perfection when we're learning English. Learning is a process and it takes time. What we can do is to commit our practice every day toward our goals.
There are a couple things I'd like to share:
    1. For those non-native English speakers, we have to understand that English is not our mother tongue. We learn the language in order to communicate with the native English speakers.
    2. We have our own mother tongue. Think of the reverse scenario that other people are learning our mother tongue in order to communicate with us. They may get stuck, running out of vocabulary, not knowing how to express themselves. In this situation, for sure I won't intimidate them. I would try to help and appreciate that they are learning my mother tongue. So don't be afraid of speaking English, I hope people help people to connect regardless of what languages that you speak. 😊

Earlier, I wanted to be a perfectionist but soon I realized it is not possible. I have always committed mistakes. Today I'm happy I can keep my English understanding up with you even though I'm far from that knowledge what I had when I came back from the US. Perhaps I'll never be there again because back then I was thinking in English and was thinking on a way the Americans do and sometimes I committed mistakes in Hungarian. Now my Hungarian is better again and my English is worse but at least, I can understand, write, read in English and perhaps speak also but I do it less than I would like to.

yes I am a perfectanism when I was in my first college year one of my teacher said to us if you are speaking or writing in english dont think and in a TedX talk that I watched a woman said that when someone telling about something do not try think about saying to him when he finished his conversation . in addition to these advices I wanted to add these two advice first rule is do not think when you spek and second rule is if someone telling you about something do not try think what you will responde . I can even say that I did not much think while I was writing this comment . right now I am erasmus student in Poland it was 3 days and my english in first day is better than now because when I came to Poland first time there is no anyone who warn me and I could explain myself as I want . but after this comment and this video I won't mind anything that can effect me badly . Maybe I can make many mistakes in this comment but it is not problem . I will never copy this comment and attach translate and check out . I will try to not do these .

Thank you Emma for this informative and supportive video.. Many people feel reluctant to participate in real communicative situation because they feel worried about their perfection.. I feel that your wonderful video will change their attitudes about perfection.
Thank you so much Emma for selecting such issue to discuss.

    Hi Emma,
All that you said in this video is true, but it is more difficult not to be a perfectionist when you are and advance learning student. I had tried to low my expectations and relax more when I am speaking, but some times is frustrating when you feel like you are not improving. Even worse when you feel like you are going backward. And that's kind of its happening to me right now. Therefore, I will keep following your advice Thanks!!!

Hello dear teachear from Buenos Aires Argentina. Thanks for your lesson 💖💝.
Be perfectionist isn t good because the person is always frustated. Nobody can reach everything every time. Mistakes are the only way to learn. If you can t admit a mistake and learn from it, you are frustated all the time and also you are very demanding from others.
    Thanks dear teachear 💝💖😘
