    Real name is Barbat from Iranian language.
    When the Arabs saw it, during their Islamic invasion they called it Oud, in Arabic, as it's made from wood.
    All instruments related to Tar.
    The word (Tar) means "string" guitar, Setar, etc... come from Iranian language .
    It's just for information.
    No racism or nationalism.
    We are all earth's children.. ..

    I love Oud , my dream is to be a musician , but for some reason my family won't let me bay or learn Oud , people are so ignorant of the beauty and the greatness of such an amazing instrument , again stupid unnecessary traditions stand in the way of creativity , passion and talent , I hope the arabic world opens up to see the positive side of music , all the love and support and respect for all female musicians from me a follow passionate young Moroccan girl .

    Dear Jasmine, a few years ago I saw a very nice video of you playing oud, shot on some narrow streets in a settlement, which also showed you running and playing was a bit of a modern piece I could say. which I liked very much.and because I was trying to study some of the phrases you were playing and I would like to continue my effort.but now Unfortunately I can not find it anymore if you have understood which video I am talking about on TH-cam if you can upload please again. I would appreciate it very much. with appreciation and admiration

    Good explanation , except for the point you mentioned that Oud is a Persian instrument. Well,It's definitely not Persian , it's an Arabic instrument and the name clearly refers to that.

      You are right but the scales persians play are different than arabs so we call persian oud but she is wrong that oud is a persian instrument

    • @asmaajomha901
      @asmaajomha901 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s neither Arabic nor Iranian it was first found in Iraq during the 11th century when arabs did not live there yet

    • @weiterst8144
      @weiterst8144 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@asmaajomha901 You are talking about the very first primitive version,that was described in the ancient Mesopotamien cuneiform tablets. That version didn't look like this one,which was developed in the modern Mesopotamia,that was later named ( Iraq) upon the Arabic presence,which is a continuity to the old civilizations of Mesopotamia.
      The current Oud is definitely an Iraqi instrument, which Arabs of Iraq gave it its shape, the number of strings and definitely its Arabic name العود

    • @ramtin8631
      @ramtin8631 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@asmaajomha901 the time you say there was no iraq it was part of persia

    • @weiterst8144
      @weiterst8144 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ramtin8631 That's not true. Oud was invented thousands of years before the Persian invasion and occupation of Iraq . the Oud was described in the Sumerian tbalets.
      The name Iraq is derived form Uruk which is a Somerian city after which the country is called.

      Wrong. its Persian, builkt by Barbod the musician in Sasanid dynasty, that's why they called it barbat (similar to barbod) , arabs saw it during invasion of Persia and called it oud which means wood, they took it to spain and guitar got formed from it. learn to study first instead of coming here spamming people and stealing peoples heritage.
