One thing I like about Shaq is that he can admit that he's made mistakes and that he's failed his kids at times but at the same time as long as you have breath in your body and the other person is still present on this Earth You Can get it right . apologize, ask for forgiveness and work on doing better

I don't know but I can't imagine that it was done on purpose especially when you consider how crazy his life and schedule is. Shaq is easily one of the biggest stars the world has ever seen. I have a cousin that plays in the NBA. He's good but he's not an all-star let alone an icon like Shaq and he's more of a journeyman. He got a good second contract but he's literally ALWAYS on the move. That lifestyle until you retire or are forced to retire is really the gift and the curse if you want to be a family man and have a wife or kids.
Men always admit their mistakes. Women blame men for everything and never take accountability for their own contributions to their errors.
That's definitely a benefit of being 7 feet tall. Being able to see everything over a large crowd of people, no matter where you're standing.

Sonya Bolden I’m not certain that you read my comment thoroughly. The comment is not saying “he said he doesn’t acknowledge her”. In general, many children do not have parents that don’t acknowledge them. He does, which is commendable and what great parents do. What he did say as he put his head down is, “I wasn’t there” and that he missed time with them. The primary point was, he’s creating precious memories now, that’s what matters. Not going to banter back and forth but would suggest truly believing the best in people’s comments rather than seeing a perspective that wasn’t intended! 🙏🏾😢🦋
But when you sit young men down, as an elder, and try to draw out how things will go with them when it comes to their life, marriage, and childrearing, they then try to tell you how they FEEL things are not going to go.
This is not to say all elders know what they are talking about, but it takes a thirst for knowledge and wanting to be proactive to take what they've heard, retain what seems to be important, discard the rest, then as life progresses go back into your memory bank and start to compare what was told, and the direction you are going.

This is the same daughter that said a speech at his statue unveiling at the Staples Center 3 years ago with all of his & Shaunies kids present as well. Just because the relationships between the two families are not broadcasted for the world to see or hear about doesn't mean it's nonexistant. The oldest daughter and her mom chose to not be in the spot light like the others but his oldest daughter has been seen and is known about.
