Excellent musical set to these mysterious coded shortwave broadcasted numbers. The visualsgive thhis an extra level of suspense and anticipation. Great work. 👍👍✨✨🔥🔥📻📻
Hope this exercise was cathartic, got whatever was troubling you out of the system, and you are now surging along the upward slope!! Of course, I was feeling fine until I engaged with this and now feel terrible (only joking!!!) Great idea this! Excellent mood and atmosphere, and the endlessly repeating numbers really underpin the feel of the piece! All other techniques, relentless POV camera, graphics, anxious and intensifying synth lines, all add to the whole!! This has jogged my memory, a while ago I posed a question about a spy film featuring the Rundfunk tower in Berlin (subject of one of your pieces) - it was magnificently named 'A Dandy in Aspic' (1968)!! Worth looking up on a wet weekend afternoon!!
Thanks for checking out MS. Perceptive of you too notice that this was put together in a certain frame of mind. I had written a longer original explanation but decided to ditch it as it seemed a little indulgent and also I want people to interpret the piece however they want. The video cuts are meant to give a feeling of someone completely on their own and feeling alienated. The words possibly for someone's own plight or maybe for the world in general. (The latter sparking my mood in putting this together). I will definitely check out the film, ta. (One of the great things about doing this is opening my eyes to so many new things both musically and in other subjects).
@@memorybugmusic Yes, these are trying times!! Don't expect too much of the film!! It ranks as interesting and worth a look!! Film buffs are interested in it because the great Hollywood director Anthony Mann died part way through shooting, and direction was taken over by the star Laurence Harvey. They enjoy the game of trying to distinguish Mann's scenes from Harvey's, predictably attributing the better material to Mann!!! Otherwise, you get the slight-framed Tom Courtney as a heavy (?), a near straight role from Peter Cook (up the Rundfunk!), and a great score from Quincy Jones. All in all, quite a baroque piece!!
Wow I've heard about these Numbers Station before and this session is seriously great MB! Hearing to it while raining and gloomy wether outside so it matches just perfectly..! Right in time for Halloween too! Thank you so much for sharing this buddy!
Pleasure HFO and thanks for checking out. Yeah, I reckon the gloomy and rainy weather would suit perfectly! 🙂. This was one that just took its own path. The numbers part wasn't the first thing I had down but I thought it would go great with what I was working on when I stumbled across it. (It then did influence the video creation). All the best 👍
Wow! 😮That's weird about the numbers station! I didn't know it and I loved being a radio listener as a child, I never found any of them!🤔 Beyond everything, very good video and music without a doubt my friend! Very interesting and engaging!👍💪
Thank you Aldo. Yes, I too was fascinated by the radio from an early age. Although I knew nothing of number stations either until only recently stumbling across the subject on the internet.
@@maydonpoliris Me neither Dan. That's what's great about the Internet. I just blunder about or follow some vague trail I take an interest in and suddenly you're in a whole new world. 👍
Love this, MB! this wouldn't be out of place in a Lynch movie! there's something eerie and deeply unsettling about that rattling off of random numbers...
Thank you so much Urbuli. I was in a bit of a quandary as to whether I should let them run all the way through or drop out at certain points. But decided the repetitive nature is what made them work (for me, at least). Funnily enough there is a 'happy accident' where the original recording briefly loses the numbers (replaced by bleeps) which happens around where I already had the word 'Loss' displaying. weird!
Doomsday kinda feel to this one via the dark craft synth sonics Dear Friend! The lady reciting the numbers is like she’s confirming the end…the repetition is rather perturbing & downright eerie…the end of the world came true 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you Rekha. Great that you get what I was after. The message could be decoded as 'she' knows exactly where we are all going! I was pleased with how this one came out (which is not often the case). The whole thing was a bit of a jigsaw of unrelated parts to start with (including the video of my local park) but seemed to make up a mood and story when put together. Thanks again.
this is really interesting, there used to be an international weather channel station like this that I tried recording at one time, but I couldn't figure out how to use it, which is what you've done!
Thank you so much for checking out LBZ. Afraid, I'm a bit of a heathen as I put all my stuff together in the DAW 😊(Reaper). So not too difficult for my set up. Used the downloaded link for the mp3 from the site (attribute link in my main description above) and then imported into a track in Reaper. What may be of more interest to you is that the majority of the 'music' is made up with ebowed guitar. Recorded a couple of phrases and the transposed these to build a chord, then transposed that chord to give a couple more chords. Bit of synth on top (VST plugin and (real) Sequential Circuits Pro-One. So this track is one that is far more made from 'real' instruments rather than VST's that I usually tend to use more of. Sorry for getting a bit anoraky but I know many of us do sometimes like to know how things are put together 🙂
I used to tune into numbers stations as a kid with my shortwave radio; great music and visuals - evocative and haunting! 👍👍👍
That shows how much an interest in sound must have been with you from an early age. Thanks for checking out Grace 👍
A very threatening feeling to this track! Love this production. Great haunting video to pair with it!
Thank you AB. Always appreciate you checking out 👍
This is dark and awesome, great Halloween special
Thanks so much for giving it a listen 👍
Definately an ominous feel to this track, very dark and mysterious, great work my friend💯❤👍7
Thank you Gary. Glad the ominous feel came over as I was trying for that 👍
