Sup, I know I know. I didn’t have the right gear for euro nymphing lol. But we still caught some fish. I’ve been busy with some stuff. But they’ll be more vids coming soon! Thanks for understanding. I appreciate you people!
Matt what a fantastic day you had. Very fun to watch. Now I really can't wait to get my new nymphing shut up out there and put it to use. Great video my man. Radar out
A great video. Looks like you had a great day. I’m just starting euronymphing also. Like you I found it worked great but I’m not used to it though. If you don’t mind a bit of advice when fighting a big fish keep your rod tip low and to the side. You’ll find you’ll have a lot more leverage over the fish. Of course that still doesn’t stop me from losing fish.
@@TheTroutGuy1 yikes. How far towards the park can you go past the ski man road bridge and still catch fattys where do go in town if you don’t want to say thatsccool
All the way to where the park actually starts. There’s a really nice hole by a hotel. Then the river splits into two parts. Some stockers actually make their was up into the park. So it’s hard to say where it stops
What you are doing is more wet fly fishing. Nothing wrong with that, I use that techniqure more than "euro nymphing", whuch we use to call tight lining
Some people were calling this “wet fly fishing” and not euro nymphing. But it’s the same concept. You drift heavy flies without an indicator or a dry fly. That way you can raise or lower your flies through a hole. You feel for bites. And also watch your line. I’m not a pro so I don’t know to much about it! It’s productive!
I know I'm addicted. I go at 6 am and park on free parking on River Road. Fish then walk to have breakfast. Fish then walk to have lunch. Fish then dinner time I finally move the car.
Nice, I’ll look into where it’s at and all. I’ve been trying to find a good place to eat. Fishing and walking through that current drains my energy fast lol

Great day! Those were really nice fish they stocked guarantee that was fun.
Was a great day. Gonna hit up some mountain streams here soon!

Thanks!
Glad you tried this great technique. It´s a lot of fun and it´s not that bad as a lot of people say.
I liked it! It definitely would be better if I could have felt the fish 😂 I’ll look into getting a euro setup soon! Thanks for watching.
Liked the video, looks like an awesome time. Gives me some hope that I might have a chance at some fish when I visit Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge.
You’ll definitely have a good chance of catching a big one!
@@TheTroutGuy1 It says you're up for guided trips, are you still doing that?
Josh, check the description and contact me if you’re interested!
Man, it’s such an effective technique. Get you a 2wt euro rod for tellico and the park. It’s so much fun!
I’ll look into it!

Thanks dale! Advice is always appreciated.
How are you liking euro nymphing?
Nice TG gonna have to take the grandson and catch some if this next month
John, you won’t be disappointed! It’s been pretty awesome the last few trips I’ve made.
@@TheTroutGuy1 they stock in front of the welcome center on the spur
@@johnboyd-pq5qx Every time I go down there I see a lot of snakes and end up leaving lol

How did that one you were having trouble netting not break the line??
I had to play him. It took me about 10 mins to get him into the net lol

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the info! Thanks for watching
Matt, that was a fun video to watch. Those bows put on a show.
Question - which rod/reel were you using?
I've got my sight set on a Orvis Clearwater.
4weight echo carbon XL. 9foot! Reel is a lamson liquid.
@@TheTroutGuy1 One of your best videos yet. Thank you for it.
Thanks David!
Matt please explain what you are calling a Euro nymph
Some people were calling this “wet fly fishing” and not euro nymphing. But it’s the same concept.
You drift heavy flies without an indicator or a dry fly. That way you can raise or lower your flies through a hole.
You feel for bites. And also watch your line.

Where do you normally go to get dinner?
Longhorn steakhouse sevierville. Breakfast and lunch aren't bad in Gatlinburg but dinner is expensive
@@TheTroutGuy1e usually walk from river rd to Cocketts Breakfast Camp for breakfast
Nice, I’ll look into where it’s at and all. I’ve been trying to find a good place to eat. Fishing and walking through that current drains my energy fast lol
Lunch we usually hit Cici's pizza buffet
Parking always a issue
It’s one of the downsides for sure
You’ve sold out lol!!!
Long time no see dude!
