Panauti is an ancient Newari town, located 2 hours from Kathmandu and is known for escaping the two largest earthquakes to rock Nepal history. This is considered a bit of a miracle. For me, it was like stepping into a lovely ancient Nepali storybook! GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa Oh girl yes!!!!! It reminds me sooo much of Nuwara Elyia here in Sri Lanka!!! It’s scary getting up the mountains, but that disappears once you arrive!!! Hopefully one day I will get to visit Nepal!!! Your videos help narrow down where to go seriously!!!!
Lol,I Used to go to panauti with my friends to smoke holy weed with Baba's at the Lord shiva temple up there and that was about 15 years back, OMG time really do flies ..btw thank you for visiting Nepal and showing us Nepalese people abroad our beautiful country through your vlogs.it really means a lot to us,hope you enjoyed your stay in Nepal.🙏🙏🙏
😳😳😳 lol. I never thought of that temple in that light bwahaha. I owe a lot to Nepal for making me the solo traveler I am today. Your country and people have only given me warm and positive experiences. 🙏
GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa there 's a few Lord shiva's temple in panauti where people gather inside temple and worship him with lots of pot smoking bcoz people believe that lord Shiva was a pot smoker himself,we even have a holiday in the name of lord Shiva called (shivratri) which just passed 2 weeks ago btw,in this day people go to the biggest Hindu temple called "pashupatinathi"in Kathmandu and smoke weed all day and night, lots of foreigners go there as well, to take pictures and make videos and stuff like yourself.
I love your videos so much that I litterly don't skip the ads. I let them play fully so, that's the gratitude from me. Yeah. Thank you for visiting Nepal. Hope you enjoyed a lot. Thank you again!
Another awesome video by my fav vlogger! Thanks for sharing, Christine...oh how I am getting the travel bug, but it's just not going to happen again until next year. At least you can keep my spirit alive and my wanderlust quenched for now with these great posts!
+trilok rawal It's an event boundary where you change the thought you had and move in to capture the next thought in the room you've just entered. (In my humble opinion)
Yeah, thats one theory. The other is to protect girls from king. In the ancient time, king or princes used to go to the village and flirt with girl often going inside house. If the door is small, king had to bow down while entering and they did not want to bow down which prevented them from entering inside houses.
Thank you for visiting my country nepal.. i love how u showing the real nepal (good and bad) ..... thank you .. u r such a nice lady wow ... wish every tourist was like you but they r not
I don't know if I'd call anything 'bad'-- just different way of seeing or a new travel adventure! Ultimately it teaches me more about a place so I can appreciate on a deeper level. 😁😁 Bad is like getting robbed. Anyways I love Nepal and it's warm and generous people. It's made me the solo traveler I am today. ❤️

+Saksham Shrestha I hope you get a chance to get there. It's really a lovely town. And yes, at the time of filming Anee-ta said they are in their 6th year. 6 more years to go! 😬
This is a wonderful video of a town I visited in 2012-13, especially to see a Nepalese village off the main tourist track. The temple and adjacent museum were highlights. I was sold a ticket there to a New Year's Eve campout in the mountains, hosted by the local small business youth group. They proved a need for marketing and sales training, as I was the only ticket buyer! Fortunately, I met two young men there who helped the old man up and down the steep campsite, and one of them, fatherless along with his older brother, became like sons to me, and are making their family proud in university and professional employment. When visiting Nepal, don't miss Panauti - a unique experience. Read more REPLY
Indra is not not king of "gods". He is king of "dev" translating roughly to deities. There are 33 deities described in Rig Ved.Each deity is ascribed to a particular force of nature. For example,Indra is deity of rain,Varun is deity of water. In initial Rigved,Indra is described both as Cheif deity as well as king of kings, and there is no concept of "God" per se.So practically, people just worshipped natural forces. In later part of Rigved,to be precise 10th chapter (roughly), Concept of God has been introduced (in a verse which is perhaps most popular of all Rig Vedic Verses). It is to be noticed that Rig Ved is THE oldest religious book used even if you go by "western scientific standards" and is in use since even before writing was discovered.
+Sanjeeb Chetri Yes, the Indian bloggers in our group definitely had difficulty with that name. Interesting how it's considered exactly opposite as its not been touched by the earthquakes. 😀

The short door actually is made so that you bow down(as respect and letting go of ego ) before you enter.

Panauti = unlucky(translation) 🤣🤣🤣😂
Yeah that counts if your first language is hindi .:)
+Sanjeeb Chetri Yes, the Indian bloggers in our group definitely had difficulty with that name. Interesting how it's considered exactly opposite as its not been touched by the earthquakes. 😀
Panauti does not mean unlucky here, it derived/corrupted from the word punyamati, punyawati river located in that place.
Why do you go around saying namaste to everyone... I don't think I'd go and say Hello to random people like that if I went to America.
