Weird, sad, disappointing case. The parents were weird, self centered and negligent beyond a reasonable doubt. Toxic relationship between the parents. No one knows what really happened until now. But I am sure that mrs Pena deserves an Oscar for her performance as the mother!!!
This case is so messed up. You dont know what truth or lie is.
You can say whatever you want but neither parent denied that their daughter had 27 lorazepam pills in her body.
I think this is enough to convict them.
My heart goes out to this beautiful girl. I hope she receives so much love from above, I feel so sorry that this happened to her. The last episode had me in tears. RIP beautiful Angel

People talk about the stupidest things😮
its a real case
I can’t believe that Rosario Porto is a lawyer! How could she forget a lot of details when being questioned and how could she not report the attempted murder that happened prior to the incident!
She was a lawyer, but for the last years she was constantly being mentally abused. She never was on her best mind.
! Excelente documental " El caso Asunta " 👏👏👏
Literally just finished this devastating series.....I think they're guilty but then again where did the semen come from and why wasn't it mentioned at trial? Sad story😢
Because it was contaminated from the lab
Yes how did that journalist's semen get muddled up in this case is what I want to know.
As said in Wikipedia page it was accidentally kept along with a rap*st's semen from a different case in laboratory, and she was not se*ually assaulted, and they proved the rap*ist alibi by showing pictures taken at that time showing him and another lady in a different place
lab contamination
Why did they killed her?

I think it was an accidental death, the parents or step parents for me were accused much too quickly, the trial was against them from the start.
lovely movie, very gripping and realistic, love the actors especially Candela Pena and Javier Guiterrez,
It's a series and of course it's realistic, after all it is from a real case.
I just finished watching it and the series is great, but the story is sooo sad😢
Which is the truth¿
ive never heard of this case , cant wait to watch it ¡
Yesssssss, we need more Spanish Tv shows from Spain....or collaboration with Spain.
You should watch serie called “Hierro” is great
This case really made me think the police left some things unsolved. Really the evidence was not conclusive- something was happening for sure but to convict them as murderers based on the evidence they had…? They didn’t even investigate the man who found her and reported her body although he was a known criminal
The man who found her was confirmed to have stayed at the bar drinking all night long, he couldn’t kidnap the girl from her house, k!ll her, dumb her, and then pretend to have found her all at the same time.
I read that Asunta's body was discovered by two young people who went for a walk. Are they criminals?
The men who found the body had proof of being drinking at a bar since 4pm of the day Asunta died, they were recorded by the cameras and had the bar s tickets at proof so they couldn t be guilty. Otherwise, there was proof of the parents drugging her with lorazepam for months and they were the only people that were with her that day. In Spain It s difficult to imprison someone without proof since "in dubio pro reo" (in case of doubt, the judge must benefit the accused) is basic in spanish law.
Spain is not USA. The Spanish scientific police is undoubtedly one of the best in the world. Spain is not an Anglo-Saxon country where the first culprit with a criminal record who passed through there is sought.

This case is so weird. And no one can say what exactly happened and who actually did it
Spoiler alert ⚠️
The father couldn't have been seen with the daughter in the shopping area (the time on cameras doesnt match with what the witness says and the trip to the summer house), the mother couldn't drag a body or have the strength to do much, the body was not seen on the road before it was actually found. Apart from strange pictures, a missing laptop, and drugs there wasn't much to find the parents guilty. And the kid had access to the drugs - with all the pressure of school, music lessons while your parents are divorcing...
No one will ever know what exactly happened...a sad tragic story...
What I don’t understand is why her teacher didn’t take her to the hospital or call the cops.
News article:
Teachers at the two music academies said that in the months before Asunta’s death, they recalled that she could not read her sheet music or walk straight. “I took some white powders,” Asunta told Isabel Bello, who ran one of the academies. “I don’t know what they are giving me. No one tells me the truth,” Asunta told her violin teacher, per The Guardian.
Just watched this with English voice overs and I must say it sounds much more dramatic in Spanish lol. Still cannot figure it out, parents sure look suspicious but no concrete evidence to convict beyond reasonable doubt. And why would the father be drugging her all those months? To molest her? But no evidence of rape found?
Thats my question 2, maybe take pic of her?
I felt like the father used to drug the girl to molest her. Maybe there was no rape, but many other things are possible. Maybe he thought of himself as a good loving person who wouldn't want to destroy the child fully...
The mother knew. She first found out when she cought him in girls bedroom at night. And she was too weak to go to the police and covered up for the abuser by keeping silent and later telling people that it was a robbery attempt. When she found him in their daughters bedroom she also understood why her husband didn't have sex with her. Because he was a pedophile who was into asian girls. So the woman found a lover who is into grown up women.
The father is a sick pedophile and manipulator who managed to manipulate his wife to remain silent. She got depressed because she had to live with the horrible secret. And he was in charge of her drugs too. So she was mostly numb and submissive.
Who killed the girl at the end we won't know for sure. Maybe the woman couldn't stand the pressure anymore and wanted to put the end to it all. Or maybe it was a mutual agreement that if the girl disappears, the husbands fatal attraction will end and the wife leaves her lover and their relatioship will go back to what it used to be before the adoption. I think they both knew about the truth of the girls death.
Excellent, so far! 3rd episode and counting...

@sarahmishegan6384 as it states in the show at the end of each episode "characters and scenes are dramatized. Police are court storylines are altered for narrative flow".
In reality, that scene never happened in real life.
@@steve8803 @it happened in real life. Both parents lived close to each other and he said he ran upstairs just in case the girl had run to his house and instead of using the lift, she had used the stairs

Alguien sabe como se puede llamar el soundtrack del trailer? Así que suena como suspense?
The mother has a mental illness. The dad is suspicious af. Too much circumstantial evidence, a whole lot of speculation not based on any tangible facts, and total bias from the judge. Overall, I can't find them guilty of murder beyond a resonable doubt, but I do find them incredibly guilty of negligence.
Is it available in English dub??? I am interested.
Yes. It is with english audio
Horrible people. There’s a reason why God didn’t allow them to have children. And Here it is. My heart goes to the innocent girl 😢her life is a tragic 💔
She had depression that's it
There are many unsettling aspects to the case not least the way the police were determined to convict them despite the flimsy evidence. I’m
Not sure justice has been served not at all. Rest in peace Asunta.
It will never be served, but at least the real culprits were imprisoned. Besides, the mother's parents also died in strange conditions only six months apart from one another, they were in good health, suddenly died.
Flimsy??? you don't have a video of the girl dying, but how do you explain her having 27 pills in her body when she died when she had spent the day with them? who gave her the pills?
Completely agree with you, the judge wanted to see her sentenced quickly, the trial was against her and her husband, that's just my view.
If I had known the end of the story, I would not have watched it.. who killed her and why?!?!?
Exactly my thoughts! I was eager for revelation and was left disappointed at the end!
It's ambiguous for a reason, and because of that, they should not have been convicted of murder, but only negligence.
This trailer reminded me of case that happened recently in Serbia, I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix takes and makes show or documentary out of it either (I hope they won't tho, media and people did enough damage on its own)
Whst case tell me I'll look it up

Who brings a parent/guardian to a crime scene to identify the body and then go to the next crime scene to use the toliet?!?
Where did you want her to pee if she needed to?
@@rsasda anywhere but the crime scene. Side of the road if she cannot hold it. This is in the catagory of this would not have been a problem if the police/writers in this nonsense scenario did not start with taking her first to the crime scene (identification occur at the morgue) after they have been processed to identify the body. Two you give us access and wait outside or we get a court order to go into what is a potential crime scene.
It’s the same complaint people had with the Jon benêt crime scene before and after the body was found. They let a traffic of people including possible people of interest stay and hang out. Everybody out. Scene contained. It must be processed. Then released.

I was watching this with English dub and the way the person was speaking made it seem like they were guilty from the start. They had a way of speaking that was evident they didn't want ppl finding out. At time the gasp/sigh type talking was annoying but it was good
It felt like the police were pushing to find the parents guilty even if there wasn't strong evidence. Alot if it was circumstantial . The jurors were biased and the town as well. The parents had no chance.
Wow really? That sucks ass then when you’re already guilty even before you’ve had ur trial. It’s just not fair. In the US (where I’m currently living) when there’s that much animosity, hatred, bias-ness, & media attention etc they usually relocate the trial to another part of town so that way the defendants can have/stand a fair trial under the law ya kno? It’s only right imho my friend. Idk if this couple was innocent or not but reading ur comment to learn of what had happened? It’d suck super ass if they was indeed innocent ya kno? Do u kno how many yrs did they get after they was found guilty in court???
Parents who drug their children arent innocent
27 lorazepam pills in her body…I don’t call this as circumstance evidence.
@@FeezFBabythe evidence made the parents suspicious all indicated that the parents murdered her, literally everything. Rosario (the mother) was going to have 18 years but she killed herself in prison and the father Alfonso 20 years he is still alive.
excellent! good series.. i think they are guilty but what was the reason they killed her, why they would do ..
It's not proved, but by seeing the case, it is evident that the mother has unstable mind throughout the life(she died of s*icude in prison),may be she wanted her daughter to excel in everything (her daughter was going to all classes throughout the day) and after finding out she is average the mother decided to slow poison her and get rid of her, but why leave her dead body in public place and not getting rid of her body is not clear, may be they thought it might look natural, but autopsy will surely spill out the truth, being a lawyer how she missed it is still a question
they were divorced or in the process of divorce I think, the child was an obstacle to rebuilding their lives, and they were cold-hearted enough to do it.

I'm actually curious? Why is the judge lying
My questions are
1. What's the thing that used to cut the twines?
2. If she just left her there "without "cutting the twine then why is the twine cut?
3. Why did the judge lied about the father shorts having semen or something like that?
4. Why couldn't they find any DNA or fingerprints on the shirt or jacket used to drag her "if" they didn't use gloves?
5. Why did the witness lied about seeing the father and the girl?
6, I'm guessing the mother is guilty or I'm thinking it could be the neighbor downstairs with the dogs because the dogs didn't bark at all so it's sus!
Everything based on what I have seen so far on the show but why didn't they question the judge?
1- they might have had some scissors with them. 2 - the twine was cut, what is weird is that it was left there nex to the body, but perhaps she was nervous because she had to change her plan and left it there and didnt see it. 3- the judge didnt lie, this happened when they inspected his house, but that doesnt prove anything related to the girl. 4 - They probably used gloves and also the shirt was cross-contaminated in the lab. 5 - she either didn't lie but no camera caught the girl and the father, or she thought it was the same day she bought the trainers but it was actually a different day. 6 - How would the neighbour who was an old lady get into the house? it was probably the mother and that's why she didnt go to the police
@@rsasdabut what still curious is did they find anything that's related to the father at all? Since his house there was nothing that they could find. Plus there was a scene where the judge ask the forensics people to check his house to see whether he did anything to that girl but nothing came up I do believe he has a very weird side too as he didn't wanna get interviewed knowing alot of "legal matters" and didn't even question where is his wife at all during the funeral that's a red ass flag, including where paused and looked at the mushrooms but what's pointing to him that he killed her too? Like what's the evidence?

I think it's pretty obvious that the mom is the only one that was involved with killing her daughter. Zero proof of the dad doing anything. Clearly, the husband and wife had a toxic relationship, but the mom is 100000% guilty.
