I really like this redesign. A Charger Coupe could have a proper useable backseat, allowing it to coexist with the Challenger. It reminds me of being a kid and both my parents drove 2 door Chevelle's. The backseats were huge in those cars, despite only having 2 doors.
@@georgythomas8451 We had them until I was a teenager, so not that small. lol But look up photos of the backseats of those classic Chevelle's of the late 60's to early 70's. Even the convertible models had generous backseats.
Great video! Years ago on vacation I saw a 2006 Charger redone with a 1968 styled rear end and a 1969 styled fascia. I fell in love that night so bad my wife was mad. LOL
@@coltonbates629 feel like if he squared off the roofline more it would've captured the old charger completely. the rounded almost fastback style roofline makes it more mustang-esque
I really like this one. I've always thought modern day chargers were kinda ugly, but you improved it 100% and I'd love to see your version on the road.
In my opinion the greenhouse is way too curvy compared to the rest of the vehicle and being a coupe just doesn't fit with the current design. It is made a way so it looks nice with 4 doors but not with two. It looks way too short and the nose just look way too fat for the vehicle
The '66 Charger was a fast job, on the cheap, which is why to me, that hunch-back roofline looks so awkward. Take off the fastback roof and swap out the grille and headlights and you have a '66 Dodge Coronet. Later on, Dodge dedicated a unique body to the Charger.
@@coltonbates629 By "unique" I meant that it had its own body style, rather than being a fastback version of an existing body style. Perhaps you need to think and stop being a smart-ass, or perhaps you really didn't understand what I wrote.
Even tho I like redesigned front, I think by simply making this car a 2-door, lowering the roof and pulling the A pillar back you made it more muscle car like! 👍
Gotta be honest, there's nothing wrong with a muscle car sedan that looks like a sedan. It's still a muscle car, And it's still a beast of a machine lmfao
Agreed. I own a 2013 V6 Charger as my daily driver. I’m not into power but do like a car with looks. The 2011-2014 era is my favourite generation of Chargers as I like the aggressive styling they did with them. I’m not a big fan of the 2015-present ones as I don’t really like the curved styling on the body or the weird LED lights. IMO it takes away the aggressiveness of the car.
I 100% agree on the part about mini vans. I was on the Tail of the Dragon in a BMW Z4 and got held up by a Dodge Caravan... GT... WHY IS THERE A "GT" MODEL OF MINI VAN?!?!?!
B4 I c the redesign, I gotta b honest: I think Dodge’s approach with the modern Charger is really good. Sure it’s a sedan now, but it still fits what a muscle car should b: a beast in a straight line. They’ve turned a sedan and an SUV into muscle cars, which is dope in my opinion. It’s less of a misunderstanding of the consumer and more of a showcase of the engine inside. Hell, I‘d immediately buy a Chrysler Pacifica SRT, just because it’s a fucking dope idea. Cuz it’s more of a question of “how many cars can we stuff this engine into”, and less of a question of “how many cars can we market as sporty to make a profit”. Stuffing the Hellcat engine into as many cars as possible cuz why the hell not is literally the most American thing ever, and I applaud Dodge 4 that. 2 bad all of that will b lost in the electric era…
Very nice! I like it way more than the current Charger, but the doors look a little long, and that corner window doesn’t have as much space as I would imagine they would give it, I would just shorten the door very slightly, and draw a new window line and all that good stuff.
Now that is what a Dodge Charger should look like .... l would love to see you do a restomod version of the 1964-66 Plymouth Baracuda Sketch , with the large wrap around rear windscreen
I think Dodge should bring back the side profile of the windows of the 6th gen Charger, with that little notch at the rear doors resembling the lines of a coke-bottle car. It would look way better than that flat line on current chargers Also 3:57 I love that color
The 1st gen also went by the name of Chrysler still I think as well. Could be wrong. I honestly love it because it wasn't as long and the proportions look better to me.
I love the current charger for being as badass despite being a sedan. Your version just brings it to fruition. A proper modern day muscle car which doesn't need to lean on the past to make it awesome. This is a NEW musclecar.
really like this 2 door charger concept...2 door RWD coupes my fav...but basically its at the same size/audience of, although restyled, a challenger. back in the day, the charger was a bigger car, visually and physically, than the challenger...different market segments, mid-size muscle car vs short wheelbase pony car...they shared basic firewall and front fender aprons, but that's about it. I guess if the challenger was scaled down then yea, 2 sizes of 2 door coupes...the more the better. also, you skipped over the entire 3rd gen, my fav, where the fuselage really came to define the charger.
I would really love to see how you would modernize the 2005-2010 mustang. I think ford got it right with that one then they stepped away again with the s550 mustang. That's why i still own my 2005 mustang no matter how many times they try to get me to trade in. If they made the mustang and camaro look like the first gen i would be in line to get my hands on it!
I’m a Mopar fan, but I have issues with the current Charger design, yes it looks good on the side view, love the wide fenders, but the front I always thought of it as weak and too round, like it doesn’t belong, also sometimes I miss the cross rifle grille, but as a whole unit like what they had in the Rams and modern Chargers when they reappeared. I like this, it’s subtle but a clear improvement
I would actually keep some curvature on the side of the headlights, because this overall design don't have really sharp edges; would also keeep the bull bar looking graphic that is mashed into the bumper
I'm very curious of what both a Dodge Status and Intrepid, would be imagined as proper muscle or pony cars, regardless of the Intrepid becoming today's Charger. Also, it would be cool to see Bembli aka The Sketch Monkey take on this task.
If you could modernise a 1973 BMW E9 3.0 CSL Batmobile it'd make my day! The subtle changes you made to the front end really improved the Charger for me, as did the coupe rear end so great job!
The 68 charger is in my opinion one of the best looking cars ever made and my absolute dream car, so I really hoped you'd redesign the current charger one day. I think it would be interesting to go the other route as well and modernize the 68 model into a new car as well.
Kinda feels like a Challanger alternative. I think The green house could have stayed as is because if you look at the old Charger though they were 2 door they had huge green houses.
if i were to pick a replacement for the v8. id go for the XK inline 6 since its DOHC HEMI 12 valve. plus it keeps with the tradition of a hemi. power adder? probably a 2 liter supercharger. I have nothing to hate on the v8s. its that its time for something.... unique. who else agrees with me?
The head lights are a little iffy. Maybe, you couldve made the headlights a little pointed on the top. And Id prefer to keep the 4 doors (sedan). Its what makes it unique out of the other muscle cars.
Looks amazing.
Can you modernize the Buick Grand National?
