Hey Mike I like my tools looking crude shows and tells a story of many jobs gone by. Started collecting tools from back in the days working on my first pedal bike now I have tools for working on old Ford trucks, Harley's my Freightliner and many other things with engines and wheels around the house. My son who is 20 is always asking me what certain tools are used for in the garage he gets a smile on his face listening to my stories of how I acquired them and what specific use they have.

The only thing that is critical is: paying attention as you go, and being in the moment. And your use of the term "there you have it" is right on; please use it whenever it is called for. Happy Birthday Alan ! I've been reading these comments left by Mikes subscribers, and something in yours caught my attention. What do you mean by "" we have ( islands ) that you call ( rotary ) "". Would you mind explaining ?

Happy birthday! Alan. The differences are always interesting. I mention the few I know about, because they make me think. In these times, I think people are finally realizing, we're all people, and all are special.

@@davemetz7368 Traffic islands we call them and in America you call them Rotary but I don't think you have many in the USA hope this makes sense regards Alan

@@alanmcclusky Thanks for responding. Yes I live in USA and we have traffic islands, but I have never heard them called "rotary". For whatever that means.

@@davemetz7368 I have a sat nav and I use the American version and that calls it rotary which seems straightforward as rotary means a circular motion.

I found that "that being said" has become my catch phrase. I suppose that's your influence, Mike. Great video. Always wanted to learn to lace the wheels.

I love the music stand for the manual! Watching you do these things is like watching a maestro playing a fine instrument.
I can lace and true a wheel, but all breakable items in the shop must be covered and no children allowed within 500 feet of the shop unless they have ear plugs in.

Thanks for the Vid! I love lacing, truing and everything else to do with spoked wheels! You need to have the "feel" which makes it more of an art. Ps I also run the Timken Starhubs. Thanks. Al (England)

Thank you. I think a "feel" just comes from practice. Art? Well, that's in the eye of the beholder. The guy doin' it? He just wants that great "thing."

I just wanted to say Sir that watching you work on a motorcycle is the equivalent to watching a master painter paint.
Your passion is obvious, and your dedication to doing everything to the best of your ability is a joy to watch.
You understand how important precision is when working on a motorcycle, there is much less room for error as say compared to a car.
I wish you nothing but the best, and look forward to your videos.
    Thank you.
