I feel a kinship with Kaz and that makes me sentimental every time I see Kaz and Inej. I haven't read the books but his portrayal informs me of his origins. Inej's origins were disclosed early on. Kaz was most likely abused and neglected as a child. He's an orphan most likely. IMO, he fell in love with Inej the moment he laid eyes on her. He simply doesn't know how to express it or even acknowledge it. No experience with such feelings. The crossing of the shadow fold compelled him to finally acknowledge his needing Inej at his side. I'm team Kanej every day.
Love these two even tho I ship Alina and the darkling a little more and they probably won't happen but I know these two are gonna have some great stuff in season 2
