@@txbased1752 That would be nice. Imagine next year they'd release a new launcher and all those standalone games get a pcvr port so that AW2 looks on par or even better than AW1. All we can do is hope and dream :D
Seeing other platforms get this game would be great. However, if Meta/Facebook didn't fund this project it most likely would have not ever existed since Ubisoft cancelled Splinter Cell VR. Ubisoft like Square Enix if you pay up at the front they will make it exclusive. Like how Pico was getting the Just Dance VR game but now someone else has it, since they changed plans to take on Vision Pro.
Hindered by what makes it even possible on mobile. Also, I disagree: it feels 90fps with drops, not 40fps t all. That number is useless, it doesn't understand that actual new in-between frames are rendered for cheap, that game logic and control input are actually going 90fps etc... I'd still rather have older classics ported fully. The mostly linear nature of the missions here don't feel right. Hopefully some UEVR-style port for Ubisoft games one day comes to light
I said it more on the lines of your eyes see 90fps but it "feels" 45. In Stride Fates a parkour game if you grab on ledges or object in game everything is more responsive. This follows games that render at native, not using AppSW tech. I don't think any of the game logic requires AppSW. Controller input would be the least of the problem since in a VR game you are incentivized to move and grab objects. I'll check out UEVR later fs
Actually ubisoft made some very good and pretty amazing vr escape room experiences for professional vendors some time ago. They are also inspired in the AC universe.
that thing on 9:09 gives me massive warping near hand on Quest 2. But still, i am a fan of ACII trilogy and using weapons is very satisfying. And stealth, where you can literally crouch to hide instead of boring button just hits diffetently. Did not play any AC past III but enjoyed Cassandra sections more, seems like different team worked on them or they just got more experienced
I´ve notice something weird with ambient oclusion, seems like they choosed diferent types for each game, look at the Q2 and the hard shadows are even better than Q3 however light bounces and blends nicely on Q3 compared to Q2, anyways both of them feels nice and polished (Understanding the term polished in VR).
they also screwed up pop one(it was ok with let me say 20m radius for detailed structures lowered it down to 5-10 meters and it doesnt even imrpove fps) and sorta AW2 now..in the desert its a stutterfest..dont know what to say. But i hope thats just their weird sales strategy, although a rotten one.
I bet Ubisoft has a deal with Meta that it's quest exclusive only for a certain amount of time. My guess is after a year it comes to PCVR. I loved this game on the Quest and it was great to play a game i could sink over 10 hours into a storyline. It's a milestone game in the standalone VR space in my opinion.
Love this game. It's absolute blast to run on top of buildings and steel assasin enemies. Shooting bow or crossbow is also very satisfying. Very, very good game UBI! Waiting for part 2 :)
I've never seemed to be able to get into the AC games much before. I did quite like the Pirate one though. That was cool. I just wish there was a pirate game like that without the whole tech future and walls holding you in stuff. I got super excited for this on VR though. Just want to run around and expermiment.
I have played it’s a really good game but they need to to fix the finicky problem with the hidden blade and Connors hidden blade does not turn into a knife like blade but overall good game
When editing, the Quest 3 comparison looks more blown out, but it's not as bad on actual gameplay. Q2 does have slightly better contrast comparing it with night scenes in games like Grid Legends. Quest 2 funny enough has slightly better colors, but it's held back by those fresnel lenses.
YES, the Quest limits AC massively. Detail, world design, size...etc. Mostly noticeable (beside the graphic) was the very limited sizes of the areas, the lack of side quests. AW2 could have been a real VR masterpiece if it would have been released on PC with the same amount of effort.
They sound similar but are entirely different, I get it mixed up at times too. The similarity is that they both extrapolate frames. Asynchronous SpaceWarp kicks in when framerates get low and applications that use it don't run at half the framerate. It's more of a feature for lower-end PCs. It uses motion vectors from historically generated frames, so there is guesswork. Application SpaceWarp is more developer driven and it runs every application halfling the frame rate from 90hz to 45hz. AppSW is better but requires more effort, it's developed for standalone. It uses motion vectors generated inside the application, rather than entirely guessing. It is like when you turn on anti-aliasing or motion blur, AppSw is more like those features.
You could say that, but this is their first front to end "game." The studio that developed Star Trek was not with Ubisoft. Ubisoft only published Star Trek, and on the Oculus storefront, it says that the publisher is Oculus Studios. Later, the dev was bought by Vertigo Games. Every other game was in tandem with Oculus Studios, not Ubisoft. There was also a Far Cry that is only playable in those VR arcades, but exclusive to those arcades. It goes over people's heads to say this actual game was actually developed by an in-house Ubisoft team.

This offers way more flexibility than the new batman arkham shadow coming out. Batmans gonna be stale. And why isnt it coming to quest 2. If the quest 2 can manage this game then arkham shadow should be possible with asw. Or reduced shadows.

That's not a close comparison at all. A huge world with npcs and textures Vs flat non textured walls, small rooms, and nothing that would even compare. I can make a game run great FPS... Doesn't mean it's a good game
I’d love for an exploration mode to have been added. I hate having to replay missions to visit the different areas.
I don't think this should have been exclusive to quest 2/3....especially if it's from a AAA dev.
Facebook/Quest 3 would need a new PC launcher app to share these quest exclusive games maybe

Tbh, I bought a Quest 2 right away at request when that deal came to light. Waited forever, but finally Quest began showing its main weapons...
I agree! Vampire & Dungens of etirinty will both also come to Steam. It's their loss of they don't also port it to pc
My game of the year, by far. Absolutely fantastic and I had zero performance issues with it.

They 100% have to do "Black Flag", using Furious Seas / Battlewake mechanics.
Ran fine on my quest 2. Runs like pants on my quest 3. I have put on hold till the remove the stutters.

Yeah, this game does deserve an improved sequel or DLC. The layout is there just needs more in-depth content.

Sad that this is not on PCVR... Could have been even more stunning and smooth with the power of a good gpu.
