ABB and The Dead were the first two jam bands I became obsessed with before diving into Phish, Biscuits, MMW, Umphreys, etc.. But as a kid, there was nothing like gettin down at Brothers shows. They were the ones that got me way deeper into the scene, since I was only able to see The Dead when they came back with Warren in 06. They made high school so sick due to the fact that they always played here in CT on our summer breaks so we all couldn’t wait to get the hell out of school and party with ABB 🍄🍑
Derek Trucks told a story about Gregg being aggrivated about how long a Jam went and Gregg got on the tour bus after and yelled " Alright, Who's the Fuckin Phish Fan" lol
So happy I got to see Warren and Derek at Gathering of the Vibes in the prime of my youth. These guys are the few remaining hardcore blues jammers of our time still going at it! Also it is amazing how Derek has seemingly mastered the art of the slide and made it his own.
@@jamlive6650 I know, but it is a Gibson. It's a weird run they did, which also features a script style logo across the top. Alex Lifeson from Rush also has one, but it is a Gibson
Originally it started in the studio as a warm up and guys just geting to know each other kind of cutting your chops.the also had a dude who played jazz and had wrtitten good stuff on chords structure and hand positions.finger picking plucking.warren noons was the cat.about time he got his due.blue sky was (get this) written about 61or so .but had to grow up(arms.hands.fingers) to hold a GIBSON les paul. J.P. out

This^^ CT/ABB ❤
This is american southern rock. our heritage!! God Bless the Allman brothers, hope to meet you in heaven!
They made you proud to be a southerner.
I miss the fact that the Allman brothers will never be again
I think in music appreciation, there is Pro Mountain Jam and people who like 3 min radio hits. You can give me 40 minutes of Mountain Jam all day
Derek Trucks told a story about Gregg being aggrivated about how long a Jam went and Gregg got on the tour bus after and yelled " Alright, Who's the Fuckin Phish Fan" lol
That's funny!
makes no sense at all. Mountain Jam on the Fillmore East album is 34 minutes long
I had this lp when I was like 16
Good memories
My emotions are all over the place. Gregg is in a bette place. Rest my brother in the arms of Jesus!
One of the best bands ever.great guitar work till the.end
hard to imagine most are all gone a lot of my youth was spent at those shows
Saw them in the 70’s at the Nassau colosseum for the eat a peach album. I was probably 17.
Saw the original Allmans at Chapel Hill in 70s..so good. ✌❤
Saw them at MTSU maybe 71.
"First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain." Thanks Donovan.
"... then there is." I like singing this to myself when I'm hiking mountain trails, especially when they're really steep.
What a great fest!! Despite all the logistical screw ups! Awesome line up and stellar preformances !
Like Holy crap I haven't heard this in years. I used to love thiis
la banda mas grande de la historia del rock

great groove on blue sky
RIP, Greg Allman.
Derek's solo on Blue Sky is incredible.
They are awesome.Just a pickin and a grinin
Get that volume up, dude~
This must be in 2014 after Brian passed on. I still miss that dude
Rest in Peace, Farmer...
Guitarist theme from Donovan's song There's a mountain.
some of the solos aren't loud enough but as a record of history it's amazing.
Out of all the great Allman's. Who's your favorite? I'd have to go Dickie. Warren kills on this.
The 4 originals that carried on after Duane and Berry ❤
Gregg
RIP Farmer - 2 yrs ago
Love how Gregg took over vocals on blue sky
Cut right into Warren's solo, din he? Took a few moments for Warren to realize what was going on and gently back off. A gentleman.
Derek was borne into the replacement role...born and bred. La familia.
Ha, Greg's like "Time to wrap this up," and just starts singing the last verse in the middle of the jam.
RIP Butch
Mark Beswick Butch and Farmer are kickin it with th skydog now;,,,)
What is the story behind the shirts they are all wearing?
Seems like Gregg had had enough at the end there and was ready to end that jam
Well, over the years the average running time was 25:00. Something has to give sometime.
Whoopsie! Gregg comes in way too early, so they just make a few adjustments and continue the jam without making a major fuss. Nicely done.
Anyone know what guitar Warren is playing? 9:48 if you can see the headstock.
Gibson 369
Liam Keegan That’s not a Gibson headstock
@@jamlive6650 I know, but it is a Gibson. It's a weird run they did, which also features a script style logo across the top. Alex Lifeson from Rush also has one, but it is a Gibson
Liam Keegan Ohhhh. That’s where else I saw it ! Thanks for the info.
* mountain jam > blue sky
Yes my two favorite Allman tunes. Heaven with a pinch of haedes but Cha know..
In good way
Warren and Derek.
Well that was super akward at the end. Oh my
warren probably should've just cut that solo off when gregg started singing to maybe make it less awkward

Nonsense. Blue Sky was written in honor of Dickey's wife Sandy Blue Sky Wabagezic (sp?) in early 1971.
oh its aug I get it. so sad
Legends at Work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The tympony ruined everything.
Why? From the ABB's earliest performances they've used timpani in Mountain Jam.
I swear that drum is out of tune .is it just me?
Greg doesn’t look very healthy here.
lame - ABB died with Duane
What rubbish.
then why watch and whine
