He never "made" her do anything. He literally asked for her permission everytime and it's obvious MaoMao herself relishes in solving mysteries. He also gives her appropriate rewards for getting her help so it's not a one sided thing. Lastly, Jinshi isn't the crown prince. He doesn't want to emperor which is precisely why he chose to disguise himself as a Eunuch.

Also I thought in the light novel it was revealed that he was the crown prince, I mean I heard it from someone else so I don't know

As for Jinshi, you are half right as in he can become the crown prince if he wants to but he has declined the position as he has no interest in being emperor and is content with his current position
