Brian Setzer is one of the best player/singers in the business today, as are Ricky and Marty. This is a monster trio of talent no matter what genre of music you're interested in.
THIS is why I love TH-cam so much!!!! Screw the record companies and boring radio stations... I can come here and watch the King of Rockabilly having a ball with 2 of REAL country music's hottest pickers. Try THAT on your local radio station! THIS is what great music is all about!!
The Telecasters are a great rock and roll and country music guitar, but That Gretsch That Brian is playing is what makes the rockabilly sound come alive!
To Rich Capo, you are absolutely right. Setzer plays like a man posessed. He is truly one of the greatest electric guitar players in the world. If you have ever had the good fortune of seeing the Setzer Orchestra live as I did a few times during the late 90s with the great Bernie Dressel on drums, you have seen the hardest rockin' band of all time in my humble opinion.
I got to see Brian and the Cats back in '07 (or was it 6?) when they toured with the Pretenders and ZZ Top. We were all dreaming that he would show up and do an encore with ZZ (they were headlining and the Cats OPENED!) but no dice. I have no doubt Brian could play just about anything he wanted.
Three guitar pickin' MACHINES on that stage together!!! Then Slim Jim Phanton on the slap bass.... Yeah.... This is gonna be a great day! Cant be bad when it starts with this!
Brian Setzer is a real phenomenon with the guitar. Greetings. th-cam.com/video/CqGUNZ2-QlM/w-d-xo.html *A Fistful Of Dollars* 💛w i t h💛 *For A Few Dollars More* Guitar cover by *Ennio💘Morricone*
Brian's solo performance of Sleepwalk on this episode was beyond description. Unfortunately, some asshat felt the need to take it down as copyright violation even though NO one has this for sale. WHY would someone go out of their way to destroy a historical recording when there is no financial interest in doing so? It makes me sad and angry at the same time.
The Telecasters sound good, kinda cute on this until the big Gretsch hollow body comes in then it's all over! Brina is just a monster. Ricky and Marty are no slouches on any instrument but Brian is as good or better and is multi instrumental as well. Brians guitar and vocals just make this tune.
@1mikelan Well, you need to pick up the Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder Live CD. He makes that statement on stage in that CD. As far as talent I won't disagree with you that there is a lot of talent there. I go there quite often. It's not the players that are killing country it is the recording companies. They own the studios, and radio stations. They hire someone like Taylor Swift who is nothing more than a blonde bimbo, and make the stations play her tunes.
Amazing players. I think this show was one of the main reasons Skaggs left the Nashville status quo and went in to bluegrass full time. He calls it the "desert wasteland of music".
Is it just me or did this crowd literally get thunderstruck. Hell trout out Jim Heath and Vince Gill for the foam on the PBR. If the folks that hung this one on could replicate this with a splash of Hillbilly Casino and Slick Joe / Dempsey’s throughout, hell I’ll throw in a couple of paychecks!
You can't say the Brian is better than Marty and Ricky because A)this is Setzers song! And he's a rockabilly guitar player whereas Marty and Ricky are country/bluegrass players , I dare say that if you asked Brian to accompany on say Country Boys or Country Boys rock n roll he wouldn't be as good as they are not his songs nor are they his genre/style of music , its like comparing Hendrix to Chet Atkins both brilliant guitarists nether could play each others stuff as good as its creator!
Brian is a guitar player. Period. Rockabilly is his specialty but he is also a master finger picker. He plays Chet style, plays bluegrass, rock, country, jazz. He's the best overall player on that stage. Ricky and Marty are first class players but Brian is really on a whole nother level.

All I can manage is OMG! Brian, Ricky & Marty rocking out to a Stray Cats classic! Awesomeness!
It's amazing the stage didn't collapse under all the weight of the awesome it was carrying that night.
Love these guys together. Bass player and drummer killing it!
My respect to all 3 but man Brian is a beast on the guitar. Love this performance
This is just fantastic. What 3 great talents all at once. Love it.
LEGENDARY performers and music, can't beat it!

I saw the Brian Setzer Orchestra. I first came to know him from the Stray Cats. He is a super talent.

Three guitar pickin' MACHINES on that stage together!!! Then Slim Jim Phanton on the slap bass.... Yeah.... This is gonna be a great day! Cant be bad when it starts with this!
+Dean Stephens Slim Jim is a drummer, not a bassist. That's Mark Winchester on bass.
Lee's about 5'4" not 6 foot, lol!
hell ya! you know it brother!
@richcapo - absolutely. Brian Setzer is one of the most underrated guitar players around. He is brilliant.

wish i could have been the drummer and Marty doesn't have his wonderful tele I wonder if that is the late Don Riches I know one of his band owns it
I had a boyfriend who looked just like Marty. 😍

That should be Brian. I have no idea who Brina is!
not sure about that.. but when Marty sings its really over for everyone there... he is the master

Setzer's Gretchen smokes the Tele's..........lol
Setzer's great, but you never count out the old dogs, they always know how to do it.

@@BryanClark-gk6ie thanks so soory he has passed away
Amazing players.

Country to the bone but don't wear no hat
Can there be anyone not tapping their foot?
Geez, add Vince Gill to this trio and you might have the greatest band of all time...
YT one of the reasons I don't watch TV anymore (except for Chiefs games....lol )

What idiots would give this a down vote?
bass player makes my hands hurt
