This song is new to me. I love heavy-metal music but sometimes a nice beautiful mellow song like this hits the spot! Chad, AWESOME! 💟☮️💟 have a wonderful weekend full of good health and laughter and of course… Music! 😊😉
I LOVE the transitions from finesse to power in this song. To be able to watch it performed with such detail by the man who I’ve listened to for so many years is really inspiring me to get back on the kit again myself. Thanks for these videos Chad, hugely inspirational 👍👍
I got to see you guys in 1997 and it’s still one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! You guys were always going left when every other band back then was going right and I still love jamming your albums all the time!
Nice work, Chad 😎✌️🥁👏 Man, I miss the 90's 😢 I burnt a hole 🕳️ right threw my CD Player listening to "Throwing Copper" ❤️🔥 TBD is such an awesome song...so emotive, the subtle dynamics from the band are on point brother ❤
Chad you were and still are one of my drumming idols. Back in the day i remember getting into Live and watching you play and trying to pick up some techniques and hear I am today doing the same. Thanks for making these videos.
Dang! Somehow stumbled upon your new channel and totally stoked. I grew up listening to you guys and you were my drumming idol. Back before TH-cam, I took every chance to catch you on TV, Napster (lol), in concert, etc. to pick up any skills I could from you. Had a similar green Pearl kit/ the same Zildjian models/ the same setup and totally nerded out on all things Chad Gracey and Live- remember following along with all of your kits and snare journey from Pearl to Brady and beyond. Very cool to see you on DWs these days and to still hear that unmistakeable snare sound! From my inner 18 yr old self, thank you sincerely for all of the inspiration and emotional support that you and your mates have provided over the years! Also, just want to mention that your MTV Unplugged was the best one by far. Thanks again, Chad!
You style is definitely unique and your set up is as well. Never saw a ride cymbal that angle before..Bare feet and all you kick some major ass!! Keep posting...
Thank you! Yeah I have funky angles on most of my kit and yep, I always practiced in my room at home and never put on shoes. So I got used to that and never could play in shoes. haha
Phenomenal as always. I was the one who recommended Rattlesnake. Saw you open with that on the Secret tour in 1997 multiple times. You absolutely killed it when I saw you at Woodstock in 94 and your MTV unplugged is up there with Alice, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Requesting Good Pain. The true die hard fans will know this song. The drumming is off the charts. Thanks for all of the great music.
Oh my....Good Pain. It has been a LOOOONNNNG time since I played that one. I'll get around to it. I will keep going until there are no more to do I guess. haha
The problem is they are all great. Meltdown is highly underrated, but Mental Jewelry started it all for me back in 91. I think I have 100 versions of each song. Again, thanks for the music. Was life changing.
@@davidshaw8826 My pleasure! Fave venue is Red Rocks in CO. Favorite show was our very first arena show in Atlanta at Georgia Tech in 94. It was amazing!
Looking forward to seeing you & "LIVE" play next month in Australia Chad 🥳🕺 Please put me on the guest list 😎✌️😍🙏 I'll happily sign some "PROMARK" Drum Sticks & "EVANS" Drum Heads for you 🥁 Oh, I met the other way around 😅😊😁 Love your work Chad 👏
@@chadgraceyLIVE 😭 Sorry to hear that Chad 😭 I hope you'll be back with the band soon man 🙏 (Hope it's not permanent? 🤔) When did you switch from Pearl Drums to DW? 🥁 The kit looks awesome 😎✌️
Hi there. They are Promark Hot rods. Essentially small diameter dowels bundled into a rod. I use gaffer tape on the ends so dont fly apart so easily. Between a brush and a stick. Thanks for watching!
You're absolutely amazing and inspire me to play drums every time I listen!! Drum Master!....Live does not sound as good "live" without your drumming...why are you not drumming for the group this tour?
Wow!! Drum Master you honor me with your reply!... I think I speak for all of your fans...We want to the what's the story? Why? etc....but all kidding aside Chad, we love ya man and want to know... perhaps it's a cautionary tale? either way we would all love to know thank you so much for responding Chad, very cool of you!
Just 2 or 3 days ago I looked specifically to see if you posted this song Chad 😢 also see how this is your most simplistic drum job where I'm like hey I could play Chad's drums 🥁 here but then the part where it rips at the end I see the Chad that we all love to see hard hitten non stop and wish we could play like that😮 thanks for hearing my prayer Chad drm God #dallastx 4:56a 08MAR24 up reading too much and loosing my head 🤯 looking to see if TBd was posted and it was already there, Whooooo!
Hey! LONG-TIME fan, wore out 2 cassettes back in the Throwing Copper days, and your style is one of my influences as a drummer. If I may ask, how much of your play is technical? You absolutely look like you play by feel man, but you’re ALWAYS in the pocket… you absolutely rule. I’M NOT WORTHY
I play completely by feel. Their are some instances where I hear a fill and then incorporate that into a song but when we were writing these songs it was all feel!
@@chadgraceyLIVEI knew there was a reason I was influenced by your playing. I know some theory (enough to be dangerous) but I’ve almost always reverted to feel. It’s because it’s what is needed to keep the song going. Not counting, but WHY. Thank you so much for the inspiration, the 🐐!
My favorite song of all time. ❤️🙌🔥
Love it!
One of my favorites! Thank you, Chad!
My pleasure!
So powerful! A masterclass in dynamics!
Thank you kindly!

Always liked the "unplugged" version of this song, too. The fills in that one with the rests and spaces really tie it in🤘

Well THAT is the quick way to break a pair of HotRods, sounded amazing though!
Once again - AWESOME! Great seeing you banging away at those drums.
More to come!
My 90s Toyota Corolla had dents all over the steering wheel from drumming along with Throwing Copper.
YES!
Can I like this twice? How good is this man? 😊
Ha! Thank you so much!
❤ it, thanks Chad!!!!!! Cheers from the pacific northwest.
Rock on!

Thanks for posting, what a great album this is, brings back a lot of good memories.
And please keep them coming. 😎👍
