    Occasionally, we all need time away to prevent burnout, and to refresh the batteries (so to speak) I keeps us from becoming complacent.

    At this point, executing trades isn't all that exciting to me for all the same reasons.
    The thing that really does excite me is optimizing my system and trying new things in backtesting. I like getting creative with it and exploring.
    One of my favorite things to do is to try and beat my own system basically.

    Hey Nicholas. Appreciate your honesty. Its extremely important to give new traders a brutually honest review of what they are going to experience after the initial veneer has worn off. It's not Lambos and film set living all day. It can get very lonely. That why I believe you need to have another interest you can channel your efforts into such a yourself. Giving back and training people is a great initiative. Also taking your profits from trading and investing in different asset classes such as property also can help alleviate the boredom. Keep up the excellent vlogs. Love your channel.

    Still catching up with everything since I've been away (emails, comments etc.) so bear with me if you're waiting for a reply!
    Also, I hope the message in this video is interpreted in the way I intended. I'm absolutely not 'bashing' trading - I love it. I'm just being realistic about how we spend the majority of our time as traders.

    I'm just starting out in trading, so I haven't quit my job yet. So at this point in time, trading IS my respite from the daily grind. This is the first weekend I've had off in months, and it makes me wish the markets were open on Saturdays. But I couldn't agree more about taking a break. I've needed one for a good while now. I hope you and everyone here has a great relaxing and enjoyable weekend. And thank you for all the great forex videos. They are the best on the subject by far!

    Time away just to sit back n think, relax or do something completely different is very good. Took a few days off couple of weeks ago and went to the beach! It was great. - Definitely true. It is fascinating learning how everything connects, breaking it down, learning and making discoveries. It outweighs anything that is boring. Not just for trading but other things too. Great video! Have a good weekend man!

    On my best trading days i am usually quite numb, on the worst; anxious. But when someone asks me what I do, and shows some sort of interest, I am off the to the races :)

    Somewhere on youtube I heard this about trading: Trading is the "MOST DIFFICULT" easy money you would make. Also, high amount of day trading can be really grinding to the mind. This profession requires high mental and physical energy, mostly.

      Very true, it is being like a professional athlete; it can really take it out of you, both through wins and losses

    Hey Nicholas, I'm 16 years old and want to become a professional fund manager some day. Love your videos! I've only been learning for about a year, and trading live for almost three months, so obviously I can't speak with the same experience as you, but I totally agree with what you are saying here!!!

    Hey man you seem legit and all. I wanted to ask this from any "teachers" on the internet. But you seem reasonable enough to ask these questions. From what I understand the market has only 3 directions to go. And the rest is all the skill of the trader. He has to look for what works and what doesn't. And what works keeps changing all the time. But there are some basic things that remain the same. And those basic things can be learned for free on the internet or self analysis of the markets. So I don't want to purchase any courses(I know you are not asking me to). And that is what I say to people too. Because if you rather put that money to work in the markets, there are far more valuable lessons you can learn in the losses. And for the markets to work we need that 90% of the people losing money. Or else it's pure gamble.
    So this is my question. If you really are taking an initiative to help the market participants, then best thing you can do is give them the basics, and explain why trading works, for free. Because let's be honest, the only thing constantly working in market is there will be an upmove followed by a downmove. And one who understands that can be a trader. It shouldn't cost that much money to come to this conclusion. Why are you not doing that? Are you also like everyone selling some special course to offset losses in the markets, or worse not a market participant at all?(No offence) I really hope I can have a constructive conversation.

    One question that I have about technical analysis that I would like your opinion on is whether or not a long moving average can be used as a significant level or as a double confirmation?

    • @Duomoinitiative
      @Duomoinitiative  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best way to find out is to test them. It depends on the setting but in general I don't see significant level properties in longer term moving averages and I don't use them for a double confirmation. They are important though.

    I imagine trading is a bit like learning to play a song on guitar, once you've nailed it, the song then becomes boring.

    If you really are a succesfull trader, why do u even put ads on your videos? I mean if you're really succesfull you don't need the add revenue

    • @Duomoinitiative
      @Duomoinitiative  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We make hardly any ad revenue. We keep the ads on because apparently YT favours videos with ads. But in any case, why wouldn't you?

      The Duomo Initiative - Financial Education ow i didn't know. But I am very sceptical for people online claminf they are succesfull traders when in reak life they aren't. I lately starded watching your videos but I was just wondering. I thougth if u reallt do it for the subs, why bother them with ads

    Its a really good thing to stop enjoying trading. Once you enjoy trading it devolves into gambling and will cause you to blow your account.
