    As a trombonist myself I find it incredible that Slide's left-handed playing of the trombone wasn't mentioned. I don't think there are many others that play that way. He is a marvelous player!

      That is, Slide Hampton manipulates the trombone slide with his left hand (for those unfamiliar.)

    One of the greatest musicians of all times as well as in a ranger had the opportunity to work with slide Hampton on two occasions with my big band and he has his music with the most difficult of all the musicians that I was able to feature great interview

    On further thought--- why was so much time given to "arranging, orchestration etc. rather than playing his trombone?
