    In this video I share with you my Van Cleef and Arpels Vintage Alhambra 5 motif Blue Agate bracelet.
    It is stunning in person, I wasn't a fan of Blue Agate until I saw it in person. And I didn't rush to the boutique to ask because I always thought it was rare. I am delighted to finally call her mine.
    I LOVE how the stone is translucent which I forgot to mention in the video. That's where the glow comes from. Light penetrates the stone and brings it to life. I love how it looks different throughout the day. All the shades of blue are beautiful you can't go wrong with any of them.
    I do not have to explain the reason or occasion as to why I'm buying something. All VCA purchases are for a special occasion. That SA is horrible. I do not recommend the Collins Street boutique.
    I am someone who loves classics. It's all about the design and quality. I am always willing to pay more for something that is original and is of high quality. Yes I have expensive taste however these things will never change me or define me as a person. I will never ever look down upon someone who has less than me. I work hard and pay for everything with my own money.

    Maybe it’s because I’m a Black woman, this treatment is not a surprise. I’ve been treated worse. I just leave and don’t go back. I’m not giving my money to rude, disrespectful people. I’d rather patronage a business that is respectful a d polite. There is no need to be rude. It costs nothing to be polite. No one is asking to be treated like royalty. Just basic decency.
    I love the color of your bracelet. It’s beautiful.

      It may not make sense but I will do the exact opposite. I am also black and I often find myself being the only person of color in high end stores in the US and when I travel to Europe. If I get a whiff that someone is looking sideways at me, I’ll buy something. It’s always something I like but may not have purchased. For instance I was in Goyard in Milan. I bought a beautiful orange bag just to show them the next time “ you never know”. Silly maybe but it works. When I go back, my name is in the system. I also tell myself, “ they are WORKING for me”. The best revenge is living well! You my dear look to be living well☺️ Enjoy that book and that gorgeous bracelet.

      Fashionable Lena I don’t know if it is race necessarily. Luxury store employees are no longer trained well, and they treat customers like cattle. They try to get people in and out as quickly as possible, or they act like they are being bothered to help customers. Shopping in the morning on a weekday when the stores aren’t so busy might help. I’ve given up on VCA, because no one is ever working at the VCA boutique at Neiman Marcus in ATL. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I also felt that when one of the SA in Cartier didn't give a travel pouch for my love bracelet. She said that i cant have that pouch as this is only for VIP clients! Like WTF! after that i emailed the Cartier directly and in 1 week they gave me a pouch that it should be included in my purchase.

      You dont know what happens behind the scene. S.A must have gotten instructions on their pre-shift, to limit the giveaway of pouches that they as they are short of stock. They were prolly instructed to give it to vvips that day because its limited. Guests, like you, wrote a letter and complained to the director or higher up. Of course, their gonna kiss your ass saying that it should come with the purchase not disclosing to you, that their own management team instructed the s.a.'s otherwise. Blame the higher ups and management of the store, not the s.a.'s. They are just pawns and scapegoats. They couldnt care less about those pouches. They just follow instructions. They get nothing from those pouches either. If they dont follow instructions, guess what happens to them. COMMON SENSE. Time to use the brain.

      I think some of them hate their lives and are jealous. Or they are quick to judge and think if you’re not a billionaire, you’re a nobody... it’s completely rude. People should never assume anything or treat people differently. I mean, why work in luxury retail if you can’t do your job?! Losers.

      I’m part of a luxury bag group on FB. Some have said SA are trained to be that way sometimes 🤷🏽‍♀️. Turned me off to luxury.

      Supervisor's instructions. Store policy! What can you do? She had to tell the supervisor in the back that this entitled guest want it so bad and even said its for her anniversary and wanted to feel signal. S.A. got a go signal from supervisor. Entitled guest then thought s.a. lied. Who's more entitled in this scenario?

      @Jen C, to answer your question: S.A.'s dont get anything out of keeping those stuff from guests. They were instructed to do that each day of pre-shift. And when an angry, entitled guest make a fuss, they make the s.a.'a look bad by breaking their own instructions to appease the entitled guest so they can shut up and leave the store.

    I would have said: you know what, i will buy next time when Chris is available, bye! I hate to be looked down, i am a very casual wear woman but i love my handbags and jewelry pieces. I only buy in places where they treat me like a normal human being or make me feel special but i would never buy from someone misstreating me... lovely piece, enjoy it in good health ❤️

    I totally agree! If I don’t get the proper service when I’m making my purchase I WONT RETURN TO THAT LOCATION AND.... I’ve even returned items when I learned SA talked about me behind my back and purchased elsewhere. Use the power of your wallet to let them know it’s NOT OK!

    oh maaan, the behavior of the SA was so uncalled for. you're right, the special ribbons and fancy shmancy stuff may seem miniscule, but its literally what we pay such huge sums for!! you seem so lovely and your smile is contageous, i can't imagine how any SA would ever manage to be so condescending n mean to you. the text message she added later doesn't make the behavior okay, but it's good that it kind of rounded off the experience with an attempt to save it! thanks for sharing Kimmy!! 💖💖

    I would have complained. When you’re a customer you should be treated like royalty. She was extremely rude to you and I would have reported this!

    Sorry, said Yeah we don’t do that, a manager heard her and said let me check if I have one that I could replace, she made me feel like a criminal, long story short I left the store buying a $30k watch and a $25K ring but made it a point to buy from the SA that was kind to me.. I don’t understand how some SA can be rude like that..

      Joe Plana oh no I hope those bad feelings aren’t attached to your watch and ring. The manager should have given you a refund so you can spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Or to come back another time with another SA. Unacceptable behaviour!
      I also don’t understand how some SA’s can be so rude. We shop luxury to celebrate. Doesn’t matter what the celebration is we don’t need to explain it to them. Could be for a work milestone, birthday, anniversary etc etc.
      They’re supposed to be there to make our experience enjoyable that’s why we pay the big bucks 🙁
      Luxury isn’t so luxury anymore. We pay big money to be spat on. How LOVELY!

    Gorgeous bracelet! Happy 1 year anniversary- I’ll be celebrating mine this year too! I had a similar situation at cartier- I asked for a pouch for a love ring I got and the SA was so rude and gave me some off brand red pouch and had the audacity to lie to me and tell me that this is their new design. I told this to an SA at a different store and they were appalled! you are 100% right; we pay a very marked up price for luxury goods- the experience should be pleasant and memorable!!

    It happens everywhere including LV and Cartier stores nearby my home. These luxury brands should have a training for these unprofessional SAs. We are clients who spend our hard earned money, and they should do their jobs properly instead of showing the rude and jealous behaviors. You are so sweet and kind Kim. I would be mad if I was u.

      I've yet to have a bad experience at Dior. The customer service is amazing and even if you're just looking around, if you're interested in something, they'll take down your details and follow up after your visit.

    It’s stunning! The color just pops and goes so well with your skin tone. That SA should not have said that. It definitely would have made me feel horrible. You are actually really nice to have given her the sale! You are absolutely correct that every single book, box, ribbon, tissue paper is included in the price times ten, probably more!     Congrats on your wedding anniversary! Sorry to hear about the terrible SA experience and I think your response was very classy. Personally I would message Chris and let him know that you were disappointed in your interaction with the other SA and that going forward you would like to shop with him. That way, he knows how you feel and won’t hand you back to what he must have assumed is your regular SA.

    I have had quite a few experiences with VC&A, and they have all been wonderful. I especially love my Sales Associate in Las Vegas at the crystal shopping center. She even arranged for my husband and I to tour Le’Cole workshop and school in Paris. Which was the most AMAZING experience!

    I couldn’t agree with you more! I’m a huge believer that if your buying an ultra premium product you are entitled to everything that comes along with it! Including a coffee table book that literally cost them penny’s to produce! Sometimes I feel the attitudes of SA’s in luxury stores really interesting because I’m here to shop buy a luxury food at a premium price I believe premium service should be maintained at all times! I would have been offended also! It takes away the joy of luxury shopping when SA’s have a chip on their shoulder xx the bracelet is gorgeous xx

    KiM you are way to nice...I would have asked for the 1st SA to assist me or I would have walked out.
    The money we spend in these places is ridiculous, they should be going above and beyond for the client...if all clients start walking out when they feel that they are not being treated right or lied to these Luxury houses would be changing their tune.
    I have done that several times, I prefer to lose out on something then to give them my hard earned $...Maybe I'm just stubborn 😂

      I think we've all had experiences at any store and it makes you feel horrible and I feel like sometimes you're still taking back you don't even know what to say , BUT situations like that I think make me ready to react , I also have to feel is it because I'm younger & I'm half black or if it's everyone ( which is so wrong and was just something I would expect before and once my family and I shop somewhere everyone knows us and are nice super nice but yeah 😑 I don't think everyone knows they do it )

    For a high end luxury brand they sure are cheap about their cloths. I mean it should come standard with every purchase. I also spent $5700 at the Collins, Melbourne store and the Store Manager told me they’ve ran out, .... what a load of bs. How could a jewellery store run out of cloths. It’s like Starbucks ran out of coffee. If that’s their tactic to get customers to come back then that’s appalling. I gave up trying to ask for a travel pouch. Love you and happy anniversary 😁

    A lot of the SAs will try to short what they consider to be ill informed or low information buyers by shorting them on little things that more assertive people will insist on. I think they do this because they don't get paid enough money to afford the things they are selling and so they try to rack up little "freebies" at customer's expense. I've had this happen with a Chanel sunglasses case once for example...she asked me if I wanted "either/or" out of two options which are both meant to come with the sunglasses.

    I worked in a tiny chocolate store when I was a teenager, and every single box, no matter the size, was packaged with love, care, AND RIBBONS. You’re buying a $5000 bracelet and they can’t stick a premise bow on there!? Madness. What kind of adult acts like that!? Oh and your braces suit you so well hun! I’m 25 and about to get my pair and I’m so worried I’ll look 12 again 🤣

    The SAs always play games at VCA. I made three purchases last week. The SA stated if I didn’t purchase two more I had tried on for consideration she would ship it out that night and wouldn’t be able to ever get in my local store again. A few days later she text me they were getting more in if I was still interested in them.

    Congrats on another gorgeous piece Kim! I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience with that SA! Definitely agree that smalls things like ribbons and coffee table books don't cost the SA's any extra and make such a difference to our shopping experience, especially considering you spent a decent amount of money. Hopefully you won't have to deal with her in the future. I can't believe you had such a hard time getting something as simple as a cleaning cloth as well!

    Those books dont cost anything to the S.A. But the supervisors may have instructed them to give it only to selected vvips. And when she checked in the back, she mustve explained to the supervisor what youve said about anniversary and how you were really trying to get it, thats why she got it cause she got a GO signal. Sometimes rules of the store may make them seem obnoxious. Thats prolly why Chris gave her to you. He knows you. He knows her. You should know you too. REFLECT!

    That is appalling service!!
    If that happened to me and I wanted to continue to be a customer I absolutely would not allow that SA to wait on me. I would ask for someone else and if they weren’t available I would wait until they were or make an appointment. Congrats on the bracelet, it’s beautiful!! 💙

    You’re paying for a bracelet that costs the same as a Chanel bag only to be treated like that? I don’t understand why these high end SA’s are so snobby towards people who CAN actually buy something that expensive. You’re nicer than me. I would have either asked for another SA or just went to a different location. It’s a shame that you get better treatment at a Target than a store like this.

    Totally agree with you about boxes and ribbons, why these SAs holding them like they cost thousands? Same thing happened to me for the Christmas camellia from two years ago at Chanel, I purchased at least 5 items from same SA, usually when you purchase from chanel you got one camellia on the box and another one the shopping bag, the SA would only give me one, even when I ask should I suppose to get two? He said no! They are short even for the normal one! I know someone who bought small card holder at the same store a hour before, got two special holiday camellia. The lies… 🙄

    It really is a stunning bracelet you have got good taste. The SA job was to make this a very good experience. This was such an expensive purchase and she’s not qualified. I’ve worked in a boutique selling gold and diamonds. The extra attention and how you wrap the item in a nice box and yesss with ribbon is just how it supposed to be done. Be happy for the costumer. They have worked hard for the money.
    Kim can you please tell me where I can buy the diamond bangle? You’ve mentioned on your other video you got that for your 18e birthday but where is it from? Ik hope it’s nog only available in Australia because I live in Europe. Thanks in advance

    I had the similar experience when I went into lv recently for the first time... when they said no it’s just no, you can’t... I ended up purchasing an item but I felt awful coming out of the store

    I think you should be more loyal to your SA in the future. If you know there's a SA that you bond with build that relationship. They will reach their hand out whenever you need something or want anything. I worked at luxury brands and nothing is better than a loyal customer.

    Sorry, but when you sit and go through with the purchase with the same SA after being treated like that you almost condone their behaviour. I would have absolutely stood up and gone to another boutique or at least bought from another SA. She did not deserve your sale

      Elle Salagaras I def don’t condone that type of behavior and maybe I should have kicked up a bigger fuss but I know it would have made me even more angrier that day and afterwards more so. I’m glad I didn’t.
      I was there to have a good time and I’m not letting anyone rain on my parade. If anything I would complain to Headoffice and her manager.
      However me explaining to her in a way so she understands and not losing my cool at her made her realize she was being very petty and she felt quite embarrassed afterwards 🤭

    CONGRATULATIONS Kim and hubby on your 1st year anniversary - what a truly beautiful way to remember this milestone. As for that SA, omg her behaviour (outright lie, helloooo) and insulting/offensive words are unacceptable. Regardless of the occassion for this purchase, even if it's a just-because buy, she should treat EVERY SINGLE customer and EVERY SINGLE purchase, big or small, with class, respect and politeness. SA like that really brings a brand and experience down. I would have just bluntly asked to be served by Chris then and in the future, i really don't think there's anything wrong with that. Hope you won't let her gross level of service taint your special purchase. xo.

    I think you highlight it perfectly, could you have used one of your older dust cloths? No, because when you're paying thousands for an item that's not really worth thousands, you expect all the associated perks. So, yes you should receive a nice box, with pretty ribbon, and excellent service because you're paying a premium for an item that probably isn't exactly worth the sticker price. It's unfortunate that you had that experience and hopefully it doesn't continue.

    that would never happen in my boutique, I am definitely not a shy customer as well and no one should be. when the SA's switched you should have said no, I do not want to continue if its not you `Chris , I will comeback when you're available. or tell her off, its not acceptable and this is too rude. I;m given these cloths and travel pouches literally every time I go in and they offer extraS. the ribbon is a given not something you need to ask for! please do not be shy,!!!!

    I just started my research on VCA jewellery and i wanted to listen to you since you are from Melbourne like me. Mmmmmm is it just me or is there an issue with SAs at the luxury stores here in Melbourne ? I was told that i wouldn't be able to afford a Chanel WOC at Chadstone store few years back and i didn't shop with them since.

    I think I would have left the store. I would have waited until I found a blue agate bracelet at a different store OR I would have come back to that store on another day when your favorite SA Chris could have helped you.

    Yes, Kim I would be OFFENDED!! Especially after spending $6500.00!! I totally understand if she is unable to give them out due to a person not spending a certain amount. Maybe she would get in trouble or the management had told the SA’s previously they should only give them out if a client spends a certain amount. As a customer I wouldn’t want anyone to get into trouble for giving me a book. On the other hand there is a polite way to word it so your not making the client feel a certain way. Unfortunately, it’s the companies fault for even placing her in that situation. Everyone one should be able to have a book!!! Your spending a lot of money aren’t they supposedly selling high end jewelry as well as service.

    These SA need to start treating people with more respect, we are keeping them in jobs by purchasing no matter how big or small the purchase is. Its a bit like the luggage tags at LV depends who you are as to if they will give you one. I recently went in to Cartier in Chadstone with my Mum to try on bracelets and they gave me the best service ever even though I made it clear I wasn't purchasing. Thanks for sharing.

    That’s really disappointing what happened to you. I have never been treated that way when I visit Van Cleef. In fact they do not hesitate to give me plenty of perks. My SA has always been super sweet and I look forward to each visit. You just need to find an SA that you are comfortable with. Unfortunately in the luxury retail industry there are a lot of snobby sales reps so do not take it personal and ignore those types. Congrats on your beautiful bracelet!

    I was apart of a luxury bag FB group. A few SA said they are trained to look at people shoes, bags, and jewelry to determine whether or not you have money and treat you accordingly based upon that. Also,some treat you crappy because rich people expect that from what they said. Whatever the logic is, I’m completely turned off. I just thought I would share since a lot of folks are put off by SA behavior. Either way, being rude never pays in my opinion.

      That’s is sad that such a prestigious company would do that. I come fr a banking field and some of our riches clients wore reg t shirt and jeans. You wouldn’t know they got millions by judging their clothing. Also I was just at VCA yesterday and I had on my Rolex and my stacks of Cartier bracelet and still got treated like crap. The old lady SA was so condescending to me. The way she talked to me was as if I don’t know anything. She told me that the agate bracelet is stronger than my MOP and that you can shower w it. Lies. She was simply trying to make a quite sale. Really sad SA are like this yet we keep buying because we love the jewelry.

    You know , if you purchase an item they have to box it with rubans included , again in my country they do so ' France. You should not have gone through this dilemma. These girls need to go to a seminar in how to represent the company. In San Francisco they offer champagne from Cartier when I purchased a pair of sunglasses . And VCA does free booklets, mind you I was wearing a Magic 20motif Alhambra that day. But it happened also in LA, Rhodeo Drive as well.
    Du savoir faire c'est ce qu'il manque dans l'apprentissage des vendeuse Americaine. C'est un vrai problème, la compagnie de VCA n'est pas en faute mais l'individuel.

    This SA is so rude though! Should have told her, "You know what, I would rather purchase this from Chris!". But super happy you got that lovely bracelet and also the coffee table book! And omg, your bracelet is absolutely gorgeous!!! One day I wish that I could get the 5 motifs bracelet too!
    I just bought my first VCA 1 motif Grey Mother of Pearl necklace from the Sydney CBD, Australia store just over the weekend. My SA was a really nice and lovely person so I actually did asked her if she had the coffee table book but she mentioned that unfortunately they have ran out of stock on it cos she mentioned this was the 2019 edition one but maybe next time when they have it I can request for one again. She did end up giving me the Alhambra catalogue though so was still happy and thankful. Not sure if it was the truth but at least she said it in a really nice way. I didn't really expect much since it was my first ever purchases from VCA but maybe in future, when I build on my collection from this brand I may be able to get my hands on them :P haha...

    Happy anniversary Kim!! So happy for u that u finally get ur hands on the Blie Agate!! Congrats babe!! I think getting the necklace may seems a bit too much, but earrings will be nice to match the bracelet off 😊😊
    I would definitely not be happy with what the SA’s comment. To me, customer service in luxury line is very crucial. We are not paying peanuts...but of cos I don’t mean that we can be rude or unreasonable to them. She should have be more tactful, Cos her comment really would have pissed many off. Some of these SA have this ‘superiority vibe’ Cos becos they are working in the high end boutique, but they forgot that we are the ones that pay their pay check.

    This coffee table book is being sold on amazon for $45..... so she must be confused if she thinks ppl need to spend over 100k to receive one as a vip client. She sounds like an ass .... sorry u had to deal with her. Your bracelet is gorgeous!!!! Happy anniversary 💗💗
