As an owner of 5 Dysons, save yourself the money unless design is a necessity for you. I rarely use the features or the heater after the first few months. Im happy with it because it looks nice
Objective reviews maybe but fails to inform the viewers that some companies have been caught doing shady things with their robot vacuums yet he still chooses to promote their products. He know's about the situation yet chooses not to say anything because it might hurt his reputation with the company.
Thanks a lot for this, I have had the hp04 for a couple years now and was pretty happy with the performance and really wanted the sensors. Over the years there are a lot of negative reviews on it with no data just theoretical equations. It’s great to see that while not as fast as the competition here it can still clean the air really well. Much appreciated.
Looks like the Alen won giving better filtering performance, thats what counts, right? How can dyson win just because of features? Are you buying it for features or for cleaner air? What did I miss? In my opinion these are important - 1. The best air quality 2. Reliable, longest warranty and life of the product 3. Quiet motor Fancy LED screens, apps and show off designs come last.
Features should never trump filtration…. I think the scoring system needs to be revised because to me when I buy a an air purifier I don’t care how well it’s a fan and space heater, I want the one that filters the best!
The Allen is better for VOC in terms of speed...thats about it. Dyson claims to filter as small as 0.3 microns, whereas the Allen can go to 0.1 microns. HOWEVER...dyson is *underselling* its unit because HEPA filters can filter out particles as small as 0.1 microns if not smaller. They both use the same type of filtration tech, so...no actual difference there. So in this aspect they are both tied. Yeah, the Allen has bigger filtets that last longer but...the Dyson is better at pm10 and pm2.5 in terms of speed. TL;DR...Dyson is the better filter overall.
Living in -10 to -20 C winter, the heater function is very appreciated in our bedroom combined with the purifier for good nights sleep. We have kids and dogs so there are plenty of opportunities for allergens and dust ^^
I've had the older Dyson HP02 for a number of years and I have to say it is brilliant. When it fails (not yet I hope) it will certainly be replaced with another Dyson purifier
Same here. I have also the HP02 and I'm happy about it. Purchased in 2018. Original replacement filters are still available directly from Dyson and they last a very long time, which cannot be said about replicas.
The Dyson's heating is better than a space heater since Dyson's pushing the heating for efficiently but the space heater just heats around the space, not throughout the room. Just like you said! :)
We had the Dyson TP09 and found that increasing the fan speed did not increase the amount of air filtered. Counting features that may or may not benefit the overall score is interesting. Still, at the end of the day, it is performance, design, and the ability to place the unit in a room while not taking it over (the TP09 is big and noticeable) and cost to performance. The Dyson TP09 didn't make a difference for us while being used in a small room that was kept closed. It was loud when you turned the fan up, and the fan was weak even at the highest setting. We returned it and are still looking.
Did you test the auto modes to see which perform better? I know these are not the greatest at efficiently cleaning the air but I'm always curious how manufacturers are improving their auto mode sensors with each new iteration.
These videos are great. As someone with dust and pollen allergies, I love my air purifier, and am glad to know more, and have a resource for good info for the future.
Love this series - a natural extension of your vacuum reviews. The Alen appears to have a similar design to Rabbit Air. I wonder how they compare. We've been using Rabbit Air products for years and years but honestly reviews like these help folks know if what they bought is actually doing the thing it advertised, as it's difficult to tell otherwise.
Fairplay to dyson, at least you are not just paying for the brand name, since it actually performs well. Also with dyson are you going to plan on reviewing the new dyson 360 vis nav?
If we really think about it, unless you're working in a hospital or some kind of sterile place which they probably have their own special filterization. Overall, there's not much difference except when it comes down to how much you wanna pay for the main unit and for the filters. Because you're still gonna be breathing this once you go outside. In other places, this is just for your basic dust particulates in the air.
@@VacuumWars Nice! Ty! Coway also has an air purifier called the noble. I think its only available in certain countries for now but aesthetically looks pretty cool and is their newest flagship model.
Yeah its going to clear that incense faster because its in a confined small space. You said the alen had more trouble circulating air so when you closed it off it was kind of an unfair test vs dyson in that small space and i doubt you're going to have that small of a room for that big purifier
I’m not sure I agree with calling the Alen filters “better” because they’re simply larger. Having a larger filter means nothing if the filter isn’t being used adequately by the machine itself. The Alen filter may be more efficient as it filters to 99.99% but that’s a function of the filters density/design not a result of having a larger footprint.
I have to chime in.... for several years I have owned a MILA smart air purifier. (their site is MilaCares) and I can say I would not trade it for any other air cleaner. I am not paid by they - just looooove my air cleaner so so much - I own a couple other ones. I have done a lot of research before purchasing it and cannot be happier. It's SMART, I can control it from anywhere in the world, basically it tracks an impressive amount of substances in the air, keeps reports, has many many features, app is cleverly designed (and actually quite hilarious), their tech support is stellar, the unit looks beautiful (have not yet seen a better looking one tbh, sorry Dyson- not a fan of your design). Since owning it I have learned so much about air quality from the app and by using it. In fact there was some sort of malfunction of one of the systems in my unit (out of warranty) and they sent me a new one, just like that, no fuss. Who does that? The price is great too. The only thing it isn't iss a heater but why would I want that in an air purifier anyway?..... makes 0 sense.
The Mila have several quality issues in the mid and long term, many customers reported the units broke after 2-3 years. With that said, the company is aware of it and typically gives customers newer units or repairs even if the units are out of warranty. It's a good unit but I don't think they live to the hype they tried to create a few years back😅
For the record, the Dyson one has this Amazon note: "This product does not meet California air cleaner regulation requirements, and cannot be shipped to California"
Based on the last four years of reviews I have bought the Dyson v11, the shark apex duo, and the Ricar cordless up right. Love the videos. I would love to see a comparison of best deep carpet cleaning vacuums, and perhaps some more premium vacuums vids.
Don't bother with these Dyson units if they are newer than the TP04. They start making a high pitched whining / grinding noise and Dyson just strings you along never fixing it.
Dyson HP04 $849 (Made in Malaysia) and Alen BreatheSmart 75i $$779 (Made in China). I disagree with how the features make the Dyson a better air purifier when the Alen has a bigger filters and purifies air faster. I'd rather take a Blueair Classic 605 it's $332.
Nobody buys an air purifier for features when they have severe asthma or allergies. They only need a sensor to tell them their air is clean. Unless you're the Tesla type that likes to flex for no reason except to boost your ego, get the machine that does its job right. Dyson Machines are not made to last. Alen was created by an ex navy vet and ex dell engineer peter mann who founded Alen and Oransi. He made these machines for his son who had severe asthma. They are based in Texas. Alens filters where engineered by a couple of ex NASA scientists that helped make their legendary fan and filters to be as efficient and quiet as possible. They have been tested in a lab called lms to reduce the proxy covid virus to 0 in a room the size of a large meeting room. Reducing the particles in less than 30 minutes. They are loved by schools and hospitals all over the united state. You can get a refurbished flex model for $180 and their filters are upgradable depending the need. I haved owned a blue air, Dyson and an Alen. Alen beats them all with flying colors. And I have bad asthma. That's just my two scents.
@@VacuumWars how about testing first of a kind Karcher robotic vacuum cleaner? I got the RCV 5 and it cleans better than any of my previous robots. I had Roomba, IClebo arte and LG. RCV is impressive so far, besides the fact that you have to update the firmware as it comes out of the box.

This totally - It is the point of having a conversational piece on display even when not in use
I agree to the purifier/fan but their vacuums (not the robot one) are still better than anything I have tried

I'm reading the two star reviews of the Dyson, it appears to be prone for malfunction considering it is just a basic unit of a fan, filter and heater.
The Dysons heat feature is awesome when it’s cold in the morning

Why not test the dyson air purifier formaldehyde version?
can you test Blueair Healthprotect series?
I'd love to see the Dyson vs the one from milacares, which has most of the features.
It would be cool to test effectiveness against wildfire smoke! Maybe set up a campfire outside or use a bee smoker?
Def Alen wins hands down, air quality is the most important score and triumps any other category.
Please review the new dyson air purifier and compare it against the Winnix and or the Levoit air purifiers.
Features!? The 75i is the clear winner for someone actually wanting an air purifier, lol.

At $779 for the Alen, you might as well get an Austin Air Machine at that point with a 5 year filter.
Austin Air quality control hasnt been good as of late.

dyson purifier big+quiet formaldehyde?
The Dyson was really nice to have during all that smoke from Canada
The bottom line is filtration preference not gimmicks.

Definitely seems dyson is the better choice if you live in an arctic region, where the heater just gives you that extra oomph.
At 8.17 that is a smoke machine not a fog machine. Do they really know what they are talking about ?
