Well, the training you get is a tough one. The online version of this summerschool was a 3-day 5 hour each training program to get much of the show in there. From personal experience (I'm not anywhere near this level) I can tell you it's incredibly hard to stay in sync.
This is the Riverdance summerschool, part of the Riverdance Academy, where very advanced Irish dancers from the 'normal' world can learn the dances from the Riverdance show. So yeah, basically the people you see here are 'normal' people that are just very high up on the ladder of Irish dance already and want to learn everything from 'The Show'. As an Irish dancer myself (at nowhere near this level though), I have a hard time calling anyone that does this kind of dance an amateur, as I seriously reckon this to be topsport, high level like this or not.
No, it's just that Irish dance features very few men in general. I'm the only male in my class for example on something like 11 women (excluding the teacher)
Can I just thank the camera crew for showing us what we want to see! The dancing!

I see Micheal Flatley and Jean Butler in these two young dancers.. when they were young Irish american dancers.
They were far better than the people you mentioned.
They are dancing on the stage from Riverdance.
This is the riverdance summer school..all the dancers are watched over and if they are good enough they will be invited to join the riverdance troupe.
The gal dancing I think is the same one who is with the 25th anniversary show of riverdance.
Ich habe einen Riesenrespekt für alle, die Riverdance beherrschen! Das ist so toll!
