Mixed voice development is challenging because you aren’t singing with only chest or head voice. You’re singing with both chest and head voices at the same time blended or mixed together. It’s a new feeling caused by a new approach to singing. I'm excited to share a mixed voice development video with you all as it's something so many people struggle with. I hope you enjoy!

Hi Michael: I have a course which will help you get into mix with exercises. Just subscribe to Power To Sing (www.powertosing.com/) and you will learn about it. Also, free exercises are available for your specific vocal type. Have you gotten your vocal type yet?
Hi Chuck, when I start straining, I substitute the words w nay or the hooty gee and i seem to get the pitch easier w them but which one is closer to how we should sing in reality? thx!
hooty gee, because the larynx is closer to your speech level. However, you want to discontinue the hooty sound ASAP because the imposed larynx is not what you want to sing with. As soon as you can make it with a normal gee, return to the words. If you are still straining, it is likely the vowel is spreading. @@Helga_02 We want to be able to mix our chest voice with head voice as we sing from low to high and down again. This eliminates straining, pulling, cracking and breaking and enables you to have a connected tone everywhere in your range. Yes it is the best type. The final point is to always be refining and improving.
Power To Sing Well, I think it will - but I need to make myself practice , practice, practice! I’m only leading worship once, maybe twice a month these days. I can really feel the difference now that I’m not singing as often.
Farzan: These won't take you long. Do what the video says about getting your vocal type. Then do the exercises for your vocal type. Do them twice a day. At first, Doing them correctly is more important than how long you do them.

Hello there. i believe i have an incomplete mix. i posted an audio on reddit and i was told to bring more chest into it and i dont know what that means or how to do it. what can i do?
Hello. Thanks for the video. With the "nay" exercise my voice cracks into falsetto at the last beginning node G#4 I think. Does that mean I should start lower with that exercise? I do not think it is possible for me to hit that note without cracking into falsetto at this point. It is a bit easier with the No-exercise though. I had a lot of succes with the bubble exercise, but I felt generally that I did not get a good sound of 'nay', 'no(u)' or 'mum' unless F4 was the highest note. Higher than that and my voice seems to break, or I feel I have to strain to hit the note. I guess F#4 begins my vocal bridge? Vocal type voice I believe myself to be a natural baritone. My lowest note is an E2 which is often sung with a fry.
@@Severindk87 Hi LS: Don't lower the pitch. I would do the exercises for PC/HL. Do them softer...just loud enough to stay connected. As you do the ney's try not to go louder. Instead, stay exaggerated with the witchy-bratty sound and see if you can stay connected. When you get to the dopy gees stay very dopy-hooty and see if you can keep the tone connected. Are you able to stay connected on the bubble lips?
@@PowerToSing thanks for the reply. On the bubble lips I am not sure if I stay connected. It seems like a connected tone but i can still hear when my chest kicks in on the lower notes. I am not sure what you mean by doopy hootys etc?

Your larynx is coming up and this causes the voice to break into falsetto. Even when done right, It's not easy to forget the old way of doing it and create new muscle memory. How old are you and are you male or female?
