I am so happy I'm not the only one who not only is an organizing ho but is also someone who wants a specific version or cover of a book and who may or may not have a couple of copies of favored books. Especially because certain editions are not getting loaned out so then I need a loaner copy too... :) I am trying to cut down on my edition-swapping ways (especially since the used bookstore has been closed) but it's an addiction.
This is the perfect kind of bookshelf organization! I love that you talked a bit about your favorite books/copies. And books that you want to get in the future. It really felt like simply hanging out with a friend. :)

I organize my Goodreads shelves with the tags. I shelf the books as want to read, read, currently reading, dnf, coffee table books. Then the tags are own, borrow, want to own, want to borrow. It helps me keep control of my impulse buying.
I actually have the big problem of my life as an avid reader, I read all genres so I decided to set a plan first then to work on it, i've started organizing my bookshelves as categories, it's so easy to find the book you want to read. For example, I put a shelf for Adults, adventures, Arts, and so on until I find my little library well organized. Try this and you will see a big difference. Beleive me.
a year later and i absolutely need to 💀 i move upstairs in summer and i need new furniture (desk, if there's shelves under it E V E N B E T T E R) because my desk is too small and my nightstand is falling apart and i need more shelves for my books. currently have like a whole series and like 9 books not in shelves rn (might be more?) anyway i just got circe and the midnight library + my own copy of the giving tree
i always struggle so much with bookshelf organization because i'm constantly changing my books and never know what exactly i wanna do with them hahaha your bookshelves look great!!
