The Elephant and Castle in the Borough of Southwark, London (Cockney, South East side of the river Thames, although those on the North East side will always disagree, claiming that they are the only 'official' Cockneys).

The music is a bit different from ELP. I guess Jim Davidson considered himself a lucky man to be the star.

This is like a modern version of what the 1940's was. Even GOODNIGHT SWEETHEART was a lot better than this.

Officially Cockney is East London (North side of the Thames rIver) within the sound of the Bow bells (Church). However, people living in South East London (South Side of the River) think of themselves as Cockney too, much to the disagreement of those on the North side who say that they are the 'real' Cockneys. If you go to the Old Kent Road, Tower Bridge Road, Elephant & Castle, all South of the river, many people would say it is Cockney London (those from the North side would disagree) The Charlie Chaplin pub is in the Elephant and Castle, Tommy Steele from the area of Bermondsey (South Side) was known as a Cockney singer and actor. The area of Lambeth (South Side) near the Elephant and Castle is known as a Cockney area. Each of these areas come under the Borough of Southwark (South Side). So, if you wish, you could say there are two types of Cockney, North side and South side, but those on the North side would always disagree with this. They would never accept that those on the South side think of themselves as Cockney. This disagreement between the two still exists. People in the North of England (and other parts of England) generally think of anyone from London as being Cockney, and that really is not true.
