This level of access and INSIDE LOOK at a major college football program has NEVER been done and even the most non interesting (what's to eat in the cafeteria today?) storylines are suddenly "Yeah, I want to see what they cooked up for Coach" followed by "Damn that look tasty!". Lifelong 🐊 and two time UF alum who endured the years Prime owned us with FSU, but I also have always admired him and liked CU from back in the day when my cousins went to school in Boulder. So impressed with both coordinators and everything Prime and his staff are doing. Rooting for the Buff’s (except if they play my Gator’s 😅). Glad to see a couple of our guys transfer out there for a new opportunity to get some playing time/fresh start as well.

Smart to cut out that recruiting part. Their line has stood out the most in all these videos on all the channels. They look small and slow. The really good programs and the elite ones don’t look like that. They’ll need at least another year to get the guys they need.

Tell those boosters to direct that NIL money to the OL and especially the DL. People can pooh-pooh all they want about the half dozen 3* DL that exited but see how hard it is to get 4* transfers or equivalent talent, or even to find some more 3* guys transferring. Collectives at the USCs and Texas's of the world are putting $50k for lineman as a base "salary" (NIL deal), plus there are boosters giving free SUV leases and other deals to stack line players. Certain schools are still oversigning and gray-shirting or stocking linemen away at local JCs to pick up as they develop. These kids know the deal, that a healthy 6'6~ 300lb of muscle kid who can run is gonna be drafted, period because he's statically rare so the bag may be more important right?
Meanwhile at Colorado LT, OC, RG, and on the other side, NT, DT they're thin as paper, and the NIL deals are going to a few big name skill players. Even the DL leaving CU are getting snatched up, and it just may be that CU trench players will be targeted just to steal the new regime's thunder.
Finding hidden talent today is hard and a lot of guys bouncing around have issues. Those stars ratings are real, when you weigh it out by how few 4* and 5* there are, and how that translates into CFB rankings, champs and NFL draftees. And they are that much more real if you don't have 3 years to build up a bunch of TEs into OL or DL, or remold bodies and coach-up substandard recruits.
Some guys need to be replaced, but there is a lot to be said for re-recruiting your roster as much as looking outside. We've seen big turnarounds without even roster revamps, look at Tulane, or go back to South Carolina around 2000(?), or UW after their winless season. The coaching and culture are excellent and have the advantage of a roster overhaul, but if CU stays thin in the trenches it's gonna be a long next couple of seasons. Anyway, hope that weather there stops acting out today. Sko Buffs!
