Fantastic video. I recently acquired a Diana Airbug (same as the CP1) so late to the party, but to be honest air guns are pretty timeless. Appreciate the work you put in!
Great informative video mate, One extra improvement I made to my CP1 was to replace the quite stiff small spring that holds the sear in place on the trigger assembly with a much lighter one from a ball point pen. It's made the trigger action much lighter and predictable. Keep up the good work.
Great video, this gun looks exactly like the Diana Bandit and its the only video I could find demonstrating how to disassemble the Bandit. My pistol stopped releasing air into the chamber when the trigger is pulled. Obviously the gun must be full of gunk as described. Will now pull my pistol apart with confidence. Thanks again!
ive just bought one of these , covered the grip in milliput then gripped it so it shaped to my hand then hydropdipped in grassy camo , it appears to be a great gun spot on at 15 yrds
Just came across this video, really good info I use both the single and multishot and the more pistols/rifles I buy the more I'm taking a keen interest to keep them in tip top condition. Great vid it takes the fear out of venturing into the maintenance side of looking after different air guns. Top marks for sharing your insights.👍👍👍
Thanks for this very clear video. Obviously the manufacturers have watched this! The trigger is now a 1 piece affair! The Gunk in with the hammer was not present neither was anything else, and this is a new gun! The need to polish trigger and sear did not, to me, seem required and the action prior to dismantling seemed smooth enough. the hammer did need attention as you described. Thanks again.
I would recommend examining the 'action tube' where the hammer rides for burrs, and polishing them out with wet and dry wrapped around a mandrel spun by a cordless drill. Then the hammer can slide smoothly and consistently.
Hi, thanks for the great video. I’m currently fitting a Huma regulator to get a bit better shot count. Can you show how to get the valve housing out of the barrel. Ive tried to force it out the front end but its not budging at all
CO2 is self-regulating. The liquid CO2 exerts a constant vapour pressure ballpark 850psi. Regulators are for PCP e.g. the PP800. The valve is held in place by a small screw but you also must remove the transfer port and cylinder, and it comes out of the cylinder end. Do not use force.
Thanks for this great video, it's been really helpful. What size allen key is needed to remove that small grub screw from the trigger? I tried a 1.5mm but the screw just wouldn't move, and the allen key ended up getting rounded off! I then tried a different 1.5mm key, but that wouldn't even fit the screw! Cheers
hi. i have a cp2 with side to side trigger movement because of wich the saftety catches the trigger gaurd. is there any fix for that. can i just squeeze or push the metal on both side to make it tighter??? thanks in advance
The CP2 has a hole in the 'action tube' for poking the CO2 out (compare), otherwise drill a small hole in the spent CO2 and put a self tapping screw in to pull it out
The PCP version comes with a monster sized grip. Just cut/sand down the grip to a perfect custom fit for you. Checker, stiple, or finish however you like. Now I want my original parts, so I just make a custom gip from scratch and save the OEM in case I ever sell it. But in over 38 years, I haven't sold a single air gun I ever bought.
What do you use to do the actual polishing of the parts. I have a Dremel, but am not sure if it will do the job with say some Unipol or Rouge, like in jewelers polishing compounds. My apologies, i did not finish watching the video before asking my question.
Johan Combrinck Hi Johan, some compound polish may work but not sure if it'll be gritty enough to start to polish metal, you could always give it a try, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't damage the metal. as I said I used some wet and dry paper starting at a low 600 grit working up until I was at 2000 grit. this helped smooth and polish the surface so the metal contact points has far less resistance.
I bought this gun and it is Gorgeous, but please someone tell my the Magazine will not insert....did anyone else have that problem? I cand only load single pellets and it is the .22 model, thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you.
You might want to look at this TH-cam video. "How to fit and adjust the magazine for CP1-M" th-cam.com/video/C1If84gavd8/w-d-xo.html Also, the CP1 Magazines give many people problems. You may want to try a magazine from a Diana Stormrider or Chaser Pistol. Rumor has it that they are better made. I plan to try one. www.canadashootingsupply.ca/catalogsearch/result/?q=Diana+Stormrider+or+Chaser+Pistol+.177+cal.+Magazine
did you work it out,,,ive just bought one of these and the guy in the shop told me to spin the clear plastic of the magazine round to the last pellet , put that one in first then all the others otherwise the mag wont spin round.
@@NOT_SURE.. Thanks for asking still love this pistol but the magazine does not work well, also have problems with loading one pellet fits tight. Other than that when loaded shoots well.
You can get Grub-Screws with a Nylon Ball insert in the end, I'd imagine that would give a nice smooth Trigger feel. As for Smoothing/Polishing the Bearing Surfaces on the Hammer, I would suggest NOT using a coarse Wet/Dry Paper (or Emery Cloth) at all. Starting with a 800 Grit would be plenty, then progressing to 1000 and higher.
Hi just want to say the only thing that was left out that I no of is a flex hone 18mm brush 800 grit to polish the inside tube after you clean out the China dirt aka gunk. You can also polish it after the sanding of hammer with buffing pad.
Like your videos, but please do something about your camera focus, really hard to watch this for half an hour. Using a plain background would probably already do the trick. Thks
+Cornelis Weeterings Hi Cornelis, unfortunately I use my phones camera as I have no other recording gear. I do use a tripod to try and stabilise the picture as much as possible but focus is kind of out of my control. In the future I hope to invest in a decent camera to record with :) I hope you enjoy the videos still though :)
+Nick Rupp Hi Nick. Unfortunately I've never stripped it down that far as I've had no need to. I would assume that it comes out somehow though as most airguns strip down to their individual parts. If you're on Facebook have a search for the CP1 and Snowpeak Facebook group, they're a great bunch of lads who would be able to help out :)

Thanks Jason. I did try that but the pen I used had a bigger diameter spring, maybe it was just the pen I used.

Gunk wasn't the problem, this was the issue. th-cam.com/video/LoRGQAju2hA/w-d-xo.html

Very good video, watching this persuaded me to buy one.

Thank you very much for your teachings, I would greatly appreciate a disassembly and cleaning of the snowpeak pp800 pcp gun or its equivalent
Thanks fir the detaild explenation for stripping down the CP1 do you know how to make the CP1 shoot harder.
dont currently own one of these but a very good instructional video non the less good work mate

Nice video very informative is the cp2 basically the same thanks
I have the same weapon as this and how do u change the gas in it I can’t seem to get it out
hi cp1 to remove barrel remove 3 grub screws where barrel fits then pull it out watch you do not loose o ring . hope this helps
Do I have to remove trigger to get at the hammer spring and guide thanks in advance.
Good little video
fantastic how to video thanks for making this

I’ve got a 22 version of this and the gas keeps goin quick in it any help on that?
What part of the trigger do you polish the part with the safety on
I carnt seem to find ur fb page id like to talk to u about this smk as i have one and wood like to know what i can do to it
hi. i have a cp2 with side to side trigger movement because of wich the saftety catches the trigger gaurd. is there any fix for that. can i just squeeze or push the metal on both side to make it tighter??? thanks in advance
Magnetic component dish , saves all the bits flying about !
Hello, is there a power adjuster ?
How do I remove a gas cylinder that is stuck in the gun?
The CP2 has a hole in the 'action tube' for poking the CO2 out (compare), otherwise drill a small hole in the spent CO2 and put a self tapping screw in to pull it out
I want the PCP one but with the wood grip of this I wonder if it fits

If could, I would like to know the hammer spring specification, wire diameter, length, coils...
