What is the advantage of torqloc Vs a feather key? I see to many parts that must be used for installation and I still have my doubts on transmitting the torque over the torque bushing ..it's so short
So this is to allow different shaft sizes, to be installed into a universal hollow shaft geared drive, rather than having a set shaft size from the gearbox?
That is one benefit, but the main goals are to allow the customer to use a less costly design on their machine shaft. For example, shaft stock is acceptable. The TorqLOC® design allows for easier installation and removal of the gear unit especially in corrosive environments. In addition, the TorqLOC® connection to the customer shaft is not susceptible to key deformation that can be seen sometimes in applications with frequent starts and stops that use a standard keyed hollow shaft.
