It's really interesting that Papyrus only came back to his senses the moment Gaster was out of the picture. It's like Pap wasn't a lost soul because he was broken, he was a lost soul because Gaster was actively keeping him that way. Deltarune portrays Gaster as a manipulative and uncaring evil, so it's rather in-character.
Considering how little we’ve been confirmed to hear from Gaster in Deltarune, and how he tried to provide us a vessel instead of Kris, I think he’s a greater good type. He both couldn’t have Papyrus’s emotions interfering, and didn’t want him to be hurt, as him being a lost soul made him impervious to damage, directing it to Gaster instead.
@@jacksonvoet8312 you mean the secret final boss. Because on chapter 6 we might get acess to the bunker and see gaster being here. And for instance, hes still a passive npc, before he lied to us in the final secret boss gaster. In chapter 7, gaster told us that he lied about the thing of being good to them and reveals tthat he is the one who is the true knight. Yet making him consume the light world in darkness.
Man, this reminded me of that one Dusttrust phase 4 ending cutscene, feels emotional, both spend their last moments remembering their brothers, and finally, fade away
considering the hype surrounding the cotv project, it must be quite alot of pressure making sure that the final product will be as good as the animation, but nonetheless the team did great
The ending would also be very epic if they put that when sans dies, on top of the dust is a drawing that says "Don't forget" with a drawing of papyrus, sans and gaster
All I gotta say was that this was great, and the changed dialogue was a nice touch! Ultimately though, the ending cards really just made me tear up a bit, was just a great sendoff to this ending! I can't wait to see more, but just make sure to take your time too, can't rush a team already trying their best y'know?
it’d like to see that after you complete the phase the game closes and when you reopen it it will show you in the true lab in the dt extractor area with your soul still trapped and the melted remains of sans and it just stays like that even if you close and open the game again.

You see your soul trapped in the cotainer along with gasters final words to the player that they will never come back. If you are greater than 1 hp, you will attack gaster, bring back papyrus to remember, then kill him. Phase 3c has alternate endings. But this is my take

I would say the animations for the sprites. The gaster blasters appear for like a sec and then dissappear unlike the animation where it shoots at different timings. And things like how sans moves is eh to me but that's all I have to say

I think the only thing that needs to be adjusted is just the gravity affecting the soul with the final shifts at 5:00 if you want the sea of bones at the bottom to be an active threat, as of now you just don’t fall fast enough to be really threatened by them. Otherwise I’m looking forward to seeing how 3b and c come out, this was great guys
What I like about cotv is that there is an actual good reason for the stuff that's going on. Though sans is the first we fight in this fangame, this whole plan was started by Gaster. Sans couldn't have started the plan because *HE DOESN'T REMEMBER RESETS*

Man, I had my head-canon ending where Sans absorbs the soul and lives, but now I'm sad. However, I can understand why Sans didn't do that. Maybe all of the resets and genocides made him go: "ehh, y'know, i'm tired. gotta go and hrrrrrr mrmrmrmr a bit" And it seems that the great job is done! (However, I don't really like some changes, like Sans' speech before phase 3)
man, the only part that bums me about the ending is that noone will know who killed the human. alphys will probably think it was some random monster who killed them since sans is usually portrayed as "the weakest enemy".
All of monster kind is gone, slaughtered by a murderous child that could go back in time to retry over and over again until they won, countless resets gone by and the child found something new, and in that end, sans finally won, but at the cost of only one monster alive. There truly is one left
Nope, most of the underground is still there in call of the void, the human is only lvl11 this happen right after the Undyne fight I think, so this is quite a happy ending if you ask me
the only thing that sticks out the most is there's actually sfx in the fight and the blaster is not as smooth and the moving bone zones are not working but its good, the ending cutscene too

@@anissans-zo1bc That is why this is an AU (Alternate Universe). It diverts from the original game. Also I watched a genocide playthrough and you are at LV 12 when you reach the Lab, so it is a little bit off but you can't think of every little detail for a big fangame.

I think the player's soul shouldn't get fully recovered at the final attack, otherwise why are we even loosing? Even amalgamates and undyne with their determination couldn't beat us and I don't believe that sans with injected DT would win under normal circumstances.
Well, it may be because: -Undyne didn't have a 100% DETERMINED soul, or maybe she didn't have the SAVE ability like Sans (Which I don't know how Sans did to SAVE) -The amalgams, despite having DETERMINATION, never used it in her favor, since they were ruined.

I think we recover our Max HP because since sans is slowly dying and therefore the determination he stole from you is slowly leaving him and going back to you

This version of the ending is official. It was in the plans for the animation but was never finished in time before the animation was cancelled.
