@fanforeverds1: Wow, thank you so much! I've always thought it was clear from those early episodes that Jason tended to think of Willie as his own son. No matter what happened, I always think of these days when they were close friends. So glad you enjoyed my video! This is one of my favorite projects, actually.
Jason and Willie were great characters. Dennis Patrick could not be beat as the lovable rogue; his scenes with Karlen attest to their marvelous working chemistry. As always, you seem to find the most memorable songs with which to enhance these marvelous scenes. I enjoy your enthusiasm for the underdog, Willie Loomis.
@TheVampireSara: That's precisely what I always thought. And thank you! So happy to know that you enjoyed my work ~ I love all of your videos. The scenes with Willie and Jason are my favorites of the series! They're such awesome characters.
Wow..this is just fantastic! I love all the special effects and transistions you used...and all the powerful and moving scenes you picked! Willie and Jason are two of my favorite characters on DS...I really enjoyed this! Hope to see more of your great work soon! ~Wendy
EXCELLENT! Thanks for sharing. Willie was so haunted and Jason was so ignorant of what was really taking place. You've captured all of that here so well. An amazing job!
@Sehlata: Thank you so much! You have my gratitude for sharing my video with your DS friends, too. So happy you like the music ~ I just love this song and now I can only think of Willie and Jason whenever I listen to it. Yep, I'd done a few slideshows before but never an actual video. Thanks again! :)
I just started watching Dark Shadows because it's instant on prime. I didn't know what to expect going in because I've never watched it before. I immediately started picking up interesting subtext and character dynamics and now I'm kind of obsessed with it. 😉 Thanks for the video.
@hawkeyevsgirl: Me too! Jason is my second favorite character on the show ~ the only one who beats him in my book is Willie! Thanks for the comment. :)
@BaronVonBlixberg: Thanks so much, Wendy! I love both Willie and Jason too ~ they're the reason that my favorite episodes from DS are all from the early 200s. I'm so glad that you liked my video. Take care, Leanne
@geli2cool: I love the bloopers too! All of the fly bloopers are so great. Especially the one with the fly landing on Trask in the middle of his exorcism. One of my very favorite one is Barnabas' "Julia! Remember... remember someone!" And then Madga's "It is the hound - hand of Count Petofi!"
@chekovrules Yeah, it's only after Jason believes that Willie has betrayed him (by not telling him what was going on with his disappearances) that he begins to turn on him & his greed really starts to take over. Anyways, great video! Love these two character (especially when they're interacting), love the song choice!
I really loved this video! I mailed the link to my fellow DS friends. I love the music that you chose for it as well:) And this is your first attempt? BRAVO!!
@yesnik4805: I love this particular group of episodes. I think that even at this point in the series, Willie and Jason were still friends. Jason seems to be genuinely concerned, and really does his best to help poor Willie. Thanks for the comment and glad you liked it!
@scareolyn: Thank you!!! I love this song too ~ but would you believe I only thought of using it for this video after it played while I had my iPod on shuffle? Thanks again and I'm glad you liked it!
@geli2cool: Barnabas was blind about a lot of things. It drives me crazy when he starts chasing after the younger women. Especially Roxanne. I counted the number of girls that Barnabas "falls in love" with and it's something like eight, not counting Julia.
@geli2cool: Oh, I finally figure out what the context of that clip was! Roger was going to offer a position in the cannery to Jeff Clark, and Vicky meant that now she and Jeff could be married sooner. Heh, you had me wondering if I'd someone missed an entire plot line for a minute there. Roger does devote a lot of time in the early episodes to charming Vicky, but that's just because he's trying to get her to back up his alibi for where he was when Bill Malloy was killed.
@josieposie78: Thanks so much! Yes, Jason was a jerk, but a very amusing one! I love both Jason and Willie ~ they're two of my very favorite characters. Thanks again and glad you like the song!
@geli2cool: I think you're right about Thayer David. And, yeah, Dennis Patrick only played Jason and Paul, although he was in House of Dark Shadows as the sherrif. Roger Davis had a ton of roles, too ~ I kept saying "Him AGAIN?!", lol. John Karlen played quite a few characters, too.
@geli2cool: Yeah, he walks into a couple doors, if I remember correctly. Morgan backed into a door at one point, and Willie hit his head coming out of the secret room.
@geli2cool: He was also planning on killing Burke (although the plane crash took care of that), considered killing David several times, and forced Julia to eliminate Woodard. Plus after Willie was shot, Barnabas intended to have Julia mess up Willie's blood transfusion if he survived the coma. Like I said, once Barnabas became a nicer character, I like him.
@geli2cool: Ah yes, I'd forgotten that Quentin went by Grant for a while. Let's see... he played Quentin (1897/1970), Quentin (1970PT), Quentin (1840), and Quentin (1841PT), lol. Gotta love it! I imagine that got boring after a while.
@geli2cool: Poor Jonathan Frid. Technically, Amy had three roles: Amy Jennings, Nora Collins, and the Parallel Time version of Amy. Lara Parker actually got to play a few different characters over the series' run. And although David Selby had four different characters, they were all named Quentin.
@geli2cool: Well, Trask did speak through Tony at the seance (and Jerry Lacy failed at switching between accents, lol), so that's probably what you're thinking of. I was so glad when Trask was able to exorcise Angelique and then disappointed when Nicholas brought her back. It was too funny when Trask took revenge by bricking Barnabas up ~ not exactly what Julia was hoping for when they held the seance.
@geli2cool: Oh my gosh, I didn't know that was a candle holder! Oh, there's a great blooper at one point where Sam catches his jacket on fire because he put a pipe in his pocket. He's talking to someone (can't remember who), and all of a sudden his jacket starts smoking and he hurridly pulls the pipe out of his pocket!
@geli2cool: I still haven't actually seen much of the DS revival yet, just a couple clips here on youtube. That's nice that they were consistant with the French accent! It just sort of disappears in the series after a couple episodes. Yeah, I'll bet the writers just said "Huh, we don't really want to go through the trouble of making sure we have the language correct, so let's just ignore that."
@geli2cool: No, we're talking about different timelines. Parallel Time Barnabas lost all his money and then died, while Real Time Barnabas married Julia.
@geli2cool: It's right after the Leviathans story arc. I liked it, although a lot of people don't. There's another Trask in it, too. He's the butler at Collinwood, lol!
@geli2cool: Yeah, it's not on any of the blooper reels that I've seen. Really hilarious, though. I also love Quentin's "I do happen to have a so-called voodoo dool" and when he calls gargoyles "garguls".
@geli2cool: I think you're right about the last name for Ruby. I felt so sorry for Millicent. She wasn't the brightest thing in the first place, and then to have her husband drive her insane! Reminds me of the whole thing with Judith and Gregory Trask. Heh, Abigail was nasty but such a fantastic character.
@geli2cool: No, actually he already knew Josette when he and Angelique were messing around, since Angelique worked for the Du Pres family in Martenique. And don't forget that there were two different versions of Roxanne that Barnabas fell for.
@geli2cool: I liked it that Trask's ghost was trying to warn Vicky. Once he figured out what was really going on, he took care of Angelique for a short while too, although Nicholas undid that. Oh, and if I remember correctly, didn't Trask show back up because Julia, Stokes, and Tony conducted a seance? Yikes, revival Trask sounds icky. More like Gregory then, right?
@geli2cool: Heh, I remember watching the Quentin storyline for the first time and saying, "Trask had a family and Barnabas bricked him up anyway?!" LOL, yeah, no kidding about Gregory turning out so crazy.
@geli2cool: Yeah, I thought Angelique showing up again was kind of random. Oh, and I thought Megan made a fantastic vampire. One of the craziest of the series! It amuses me that Dennis Patrick played both Jason and Paul. Only Dark Shadows could pull off casting people in so many different roles!
@geli2cool: Making those two brothers was probably a good idea, since they were similar in age. And not only did Frid call him his cousin, he actually says "cousin uncle"! I guess Roger wasn't kidding when he said "incestors" instead of ancestors, lol. XD
@geli2cool: Yep, I loved it when Angelique was a vampire. She totally deserved that! And Trask's little mock trial was brilliant. Oh my gosh, did they really mess up on Jeremiah's ghost that bad? How on earth did I miss that?! I don't remember where he got shot, though. Need to rewatch those!
@geli2cool: I know, I love Willie too! And not only Barnabas was beating him up. Adam was always hitting him, and Joe knocked him down a couple of times. Poor Willie had such a tough time of it, and he's so sweet.
@geli2cool: Yeah, I like that one too. What did you think of 1970 Parallel Time? I enjoyed it, but most people don't like it. The little tiny bit of the show in 1995 was fun.
@geli2cool: Well, since it's parallel time, Butler Trask wouldn't be descended from the Trasks in the main universe. I've always thought that Tony had ancestors from some branch of the Trask family. Lamar reminds me of the original Rev. Trask, except a little more insane. Interesting background there on Elias Trask. I'd forgotten about that. I know what you mean about pretending that Gregory doesn't exist, lol! He's seriously freaky.
@geli2cool: LOL, nice catch. Jeremiah with a sense of humor?! I really need to watch the revival. Common sense is a plus, too. Does Vicky actually have a brain in the revival? :D
@geli2cool: I thought Leviathans was interesting. It was great to see Dennis Patrick in another role, and I was glad that Nicholas was back for a while. On the other hand, Jeb drives me totally crazy, as does Sky Rumson. And Bruno.
@geli2cool: Willie is a marvellous character. He's my favorite out of everyone on the show, followed closely by Jason, Roger, and Nicholas (I can't make up my mind which of the latter three I like more).
@geli2cool: Roxanne drove me crazy in both Parallel Time and Real Time. She was so annoying! Julia stuck with Barnabas through everything. No matter what was going on, she was at his side and utterly devoted. It really made me mad in the 1840 story arc when Barnabas suddenly "fell in love" with Angelique. I mean, seriously, this woman turned you into a vampire and killed your little sister! What on earth are you thinking? And poor Julia is just as loyal as always.
@geli2cool: Yep, I always thought Barnabas was an idiot for failing to notice Julia. She was one of the only smart women on the show! I just adore her. She's easily one of my 5 favorite characters. What really made me mad was when Barnabas finally "got over" Josette and then suddenly went all gaga over Roxanne.
@geli2cool: Oh, are Barnabas and Jeremiah brothers in the revival? Oddly enough in the show, Jeremiah was Barnabas' uncle, despite the fact that they were around the same age. Or "cousin uncle", if you listen to one of Barnabas' bloopers, lol.
@geli2cool: Yeah, I think the only time in the original that Roger was actually "with" someone was when he was married to Cassandra (aka Angelique). LOL, that's random that Maggie is a psychic or whatever in the revival.
@geli2cool: Yep, Barnabas really became a tragic character during the 1795 timeline. We got to see why he was the way he was and understand him better. Up until that point in the show, he had still been the bad guy. Oh yeah, and back on the list of Barnabas' victims, he killed quite a few people during 1795. Forbes, Angelique (although he wasn't totally successful there, lol), and Rev. Trask, plus a bunch of nameless women.
@geli2cool: Hah, that's hilarious. Yeah, in parallel time Barnabas did get to marry Josette, but apparently he lost all of his money and then died. The Roger Davis narration is on here somewhere, I think. It was on the last DS collection right after the last episode. I was glad to hear that Barnabas and Julia were finally going to get married. I love Julia. No mention of what happened to Willie in the narration though, which annoyed me a bit.
@geli2cool: Huh, okay. I'm gonna have to watch the Revival one of these days. I've been told that it's here on youtube, so maybe next time I get a chance I'll watch a couple episodes. Upon browsing through all my Tony Peterson pictures, I see several of a seance in the basement of the Old House and then some of Tony standing in front of Trask's skeleton, so I'm pretty sure that was what happened.
@geli2cool: I liked Maggie until she became a governess. Then she was just plain dumb. As you know, I love Trask too (and Willie, obviously). Barnabas is okay when he's not trying to kill everyone and I absolutely love Julia. Jason really grew on me over time. I didn't really think about him a lot at first, but I gradually grew to adore him upon rewatching the first collection. Roger really sort of faded into the background after the first year, which disappointed me.
@geli2cool: Nope, not a particularly important character, but still fun to watch. He was actually a somewhat nice person for a change, lol. I liked Lamar Trask. He was a total fanatic but not nearly as much of a creep as Gregory Trask.
@geli2cool: Yep, Barnabas was nasty at first. He was much more than rude to Julia in the beginning ~ he was constantly trying to strangle her! And he spends a good deal of collections 3 and 4 saying "Burke Devlin must die!" "Dave Woodard must die!" "Maggie Evans must die!" "Willie Loomis must die!" etc.
@geli2cool: I hated Quentin in parallel time. He was totally evil to everyone, especially poor Maggie. Lara Parker was amazing in all of her roles, although I didn't always like her characters! Catherine is a fine example of that. Lara was fantastic as Catherine, but the character herself drove me crazy!
@geli2cool: Heh, yeah. Forbes was quite horrible ~ poor Millicent! I was sad when Trask was killed too. Ooooh, you're right! One of the women was named Maude. Maude Browning or something, I think. Oh, and I think another one might have been named Ruby. Oh, and although this wasn't really intentional, Barnabas did frighten Aunt Abigail to death. Literally.
@geli2cool: Gregory sure deserved it! The funny thing is that Barnabas didn't even accomplish what he wanted by killing Trask ~ since they couldn't find him, the signed paper saying that Vicky was innocent didn't mean a thing.
@geli2cool: Actually, I didn't mind Peter too much in 1795, but I really can't stand him once he shows up in 1968 as Jeff Clark. I think he's one of the most annoying characters on the show. Nice to know that he's better in the Revival! Also, pretty much everyone in the last 1841PT story arc drove me crazy, but especially Bramwell, Catherine, and Morgan.
@geli2cool: Wow, I can't believe Vicky's actually somewhat smart in the revival! I'm definitely going to have to watch it. Josette is a bit whiny in the series. What do you mean by "Maggie and Roger together"? Like as a couple? That sounds totally wrong, lol. I've also heard that Revival Willie is an idiot.
@geli2cool: Huh, sounds exciting. How is Angelique? Still her crazy awesome self? I can't believe that they actually have Roger and Maggie as a couple! That's just so totally wrong-sounding. What the heck were they thinking?
@geli2cool: I liked the Adam/Dream curse storyline until Eve showed up. Then it just dragged on and on and on... Leviathans started to drag a little too. And don't even get me started on the 1841 PT story arc. Pretty much all the characters in that one were annoying and selfish. My favorite part of the show is unquestionably the first Barnabas story arc, and I love pretty much all of the first year. 1795 is awesome too.
@geli2cool: Quentin was good-looking for sure! Actually, there were quite a few handsome men on the series, and then several not-so-handsome chaps, lol. Gerard in particular makes me cringe every time he's on screen. I think it's the out of control hair and generally evil expression.
@geli2cool: Yep, I always thought that Willie and Maggie should have been a couple... it would have been so much better than Joe and Maggie. They bore me to death. And of course, I think that Barnabas and Julia should get together.
@geli2cool: I can't stand Jeb. He's so annoying. Odd thing is that I like Chris Pennock's other characters ~ it's just Jeb that drives me crazy. Ugh, Roger Davis... I despise Jeff Clark especially. I enjoyed his performance as vampire Dirk, but other than that I don't like any of the characters he plays. Roxanne really bugs me for some reason, too.
Thank you. I loved the whole Willie / Jason story line. !!
Great video! Jason and Willie are my favorite characters
RIp John Karlen, Willie... love forever, never forgotten❤🥀

@socrates640: Thank you! I'm happy that you enjoyed it and honored that it's now part of your DS playlist. Thanks again!
@AlondraLabute: Heh, despite all of Jason's shortcomings, he still made a better father figure than Barnabas! I love Willie too.
@chekovrules Yeah, it's only after Jason believes that Willie has betrayed him (by not telling him what was going on with his disappearances) that he begins to turn on him & his greed really starts to take over.
Anyways, great video! Love these two character (especially when they're interacting), love the song choice!
@Serenadesong: Thank you! So glad you think I've done well with this video ~ I really had a spectacular time putting it together.
@theghostofsarah: Thanks so much for the comment and the favorite! I'm excited that you enjoyed it!

@sillyspacedotcom: Thank you! You certainly have the best taste in DS characters. Nicholas, Roger, Jason... all such amazing characters.
@AlondraLabute: Yep, I love Willie too. Thanks for the comment!
great video I loved Willie best lol!

@geli2cool: Oh, I love it when someone bumps into the gravestones. Carl does that at one point too. And when Sarah got a branch stuck on her dress.
Love Willie! Jason didn't know it but Willie had a new master now!
@MisstressVamp: Yep, I know! The first 100 or so episodes with Barnabas are my favorite of the series.
@geli2cool: He was also planning on killing Burke (although the plane crash took care of that), considered killing David several times, and forced Julia to eliminate Woodard.
@geli2cool: Yeah, probably. At least he got to be a particularly nasty version of Quentin in Parallel Time.
@BIGDSFAN: Thanks!
@geli2cool: Heh, I know what you mean. Especially when you enter the realm of Parallel Time.
@geli2cool: Thanks!
@geli2cool: Glad to hear that Angelique is her old self. And yeah, Roger and Maggie sound like a totally creepy couple.
@MrFBCBSALES: Thanks!
❤❤❤
@girlfromcollinsport1: Thanks!
Willie RIP 2020
@marcos5777: Thanks!
@geli2cool: I wonder why they made Millicent nasty. I love her in the originals.
@geli2cool: Huh, interesting.
