Don't leave this phone near anything that can produce any kind of condensation or you'll be surprised with a phone with a non-working touchscreen...

1. 5000 Mah battery
2. Internal Storage (128GB)
3. Cameras (Front and back)
4. Processor and 6GB RAM (Snapdragon 750 5G)
5. In display fingerprint sensor & unlock
Cons:
1. Water drop notch at top of phone screen
2. Display (720P, not 1080P)
3. No water or dust resistance
4. Bottom bezel unevenly larger than top bezel
5. No wireless charging
6. No dedicated microSD card slot
Screen very unresponsive. You have to press the screen hard to get it to respond to your touch.

Great pre-review, thank you! Helped me decide between this and the A71 regular version. I went with the latter mainly because of the screen resoloution and teardrop cut-out.

I noticed quite some similarities with the A21s on specs. Feels like a heavely boosted version?
Don't care about 5G or many cam features but noticed the 1TB SD card slot and bigger batterie which could be of interest for audiophiles combined with external DAC or BT headphones for HI-res Audio.
Fancied the A31 5000mAh as well but not able to make a decision.
I might have missed the comments below but wanted to check if it has Samsung Pay full version(MST + NFC just like A71) or Samsung Pay Mini?

I enjoyed the review! I have a Galaxy S5. I am trying to decide if this is the phone to upgrade to or will I be disappointed. Additionally I have read and seen various references to the amount of RAM that comes on the phone. What I am reading on the Verizon specs is that it only comes with 4 Gig of RAM. Is that enough?
I would go with the A52 5G.

You are so right! Your "Cons" are really just personal preferences. I recently bought this phone and it is AWESOME!!! The cameras are light years ahead of even the bigger models in the series! The ONLY thing I really hated about it was the screen saver that it shipped with! HA HA HA HA
It had a good price I only paid $399 for it
I bought this phone yesterday and I enjoyed it so much because 720p is not an obstacle for me!

I ordered one the day after Verizon launched the A42 5G and it arrived two days ago. It replaces a six year old Galaxy S5. The S5 had an IP67 rating but then again I never dropped it in water. However, I was disappointed that the A42 is non-IP rated; it would be nice to have that assurance. I guess I'll hold the S5 in reserve for high risk expeditions and just be careful of the A42's vulnerabilities. Otherwise, the A42 has been flawless, The 720p screen looks fine and email works much better than on the S5 and the battery life has been fantastic. I now use the A42 more than I used the S5 because I don't have to worry about killing the battery in less than two hours. So far I am happy with the purchase.
Thank you for your input, I have the S8 and looking for a work phone for zoom and emails and i think this phone will do.

I have a galaxy 4 and 5 and love it so this is comparable to it I see some say in comments.. I was debating between the moto stylus or A42 an even the A32.. ANY ADVICE???
this is the review i was looking for. I had the choic bewteen this and an iphone SE for work. I went with this for the bigger screen and battery life. Great to hear it works great for emails and zoom calls as i do alot of that daily. Thanks for the comment!

8:45 I kinda prefer the look. Its not just in the middle interrupting my screen, rather it has its little slot up top.

@@devonteblake7391 yes I still have the phone however when people call me they can only hear me if I have speaker on and the camera is slow and crap. Luckily it has a 2 year guarantee so I think I will try returning it. Its a good phone for its price if you're not fussy but I am very fussy 🤣

Wireless charging con is uncalled for as you dont expect that type of tech at this price point. If it were an a52/a72 for example then it wouldve made a more valid critcism.

You won't need to charge much so wireless won't matter in the long run

Just got this phone.. Your cons.. They don't bother me 🤣 also new on ebay for $248 plus $12 shipping plus tax.. So not bad.
Honestly I had a lot of iPhones and a ton of Samsung phones and in my opinion the Samsung has better service connectivity by far, I use a world sim and notice the difference between android and Apple phones with the signal and service reception, and a world sim is pretty much a Business service that switches between service towers wherever I happen to be I have lost service despite having a Roaming Service sim .

Yes, it does have NFC. He mentioned that fact in his first 🎥 about this smartphone.
The charge isn't bad. Especially considering the battery rarely reaches completely empty

The screen is not responsive. I have to abuse it just to get clicks to work. Its like an ATM machine. Terrible screen response.
60hz screen refresh rate is also a con in this phone
The biggest con is that it's a samsung with bloated one ui software.
The phone is too fuckin big.

The battery will still swell. That's a Samsung trait that seems to be congenital.
