    It is a shame that The Lowrider S was discontinued. In the years following its release I have truly grown to love this bike and wish I had one. Mondo’s Bike is amazing and once again I love the sound of those pipes. Truly a great looking bike and thanks again for sharing it. Thanks Matt. In addition that guy who rode near you needs to be careful. He might be a new rider and was looking for an acknowledgement from you but that is not the way to do it. Thanks again.

    That urinal analogy is perfect man! I ride my '09 FXDL out here in the Boston area and usually don't have a problem, but honestly, if I see someone rolling up next to me at a red light I do what I can to get solo quick hahah. Riding in groups here is a hassle! Great vid as always brother!

    I also have a 2017 Lowrider S with the 117, Bandit Sportsman Clutch, S&S lifters, upped compression to 10:5, stage 1 heads, and a Bassani Road Rage II Mega Power exhaust. I need to upgrade my suspension next like Mondo has because I'm sure it would make all the difference in the world. Great video as always and the Thunderheader sounds incredible on his bike. Thanks for showcasing the best Dyna Harley ever made in my opinion! Again, great video!

    Good comments on the suspension. I have a Legend Axeo/Revo setup on my '15 Road King and I'm constantly asked about the ride. People are usually surprised by my response when I tell them that it's a firm ride because so many of the reviews talk about comfort. IMO the point of a performance suspension upgrade is control. I usually compare it to a BMW M5 - it's firm, but always composed. That's the way my King rides now, I have way more confidence when I'm leaned over in a 70mph sweeper or charging down a highway with poor pavement. I think a lot of guys shopping suspension are looking for the ultimate in comfort and many of the reviews out there are doing guys a disservice by not making a distinction between ride quality and performance.

    Nice video Matt, it’s great fun to rip around on a Dyna. My 26 year old Evo Dyna Lowrider is still going strong and I love it! I think that suspension upgrade is money well spent on most bikes. Keep the vids coming! BTW I had a crotch rocket come up on me the same way on The interstate except he was doing at least 130 mph and almost clipped my hand grip on purpose. Truly, if I would have caught him it would have been his last stunt, I assure you.

    While you were riding I was picturing 5 helicopters following you back to the dealership. You get back and park inside. After putting your gear behind the parts counter and sitting down at your desk 15 cops charge in the front door. Looking around they are dumbfounded. 1 shouts out "we are looking for someone riding a black Harley , leather jacket, and full face helmet ! " All 30 people in the store simultaneously point at each other. Freaking genius !! I now have every Dealership favored on my GPS for quick directions :

    Sweet I can't fathom the bankruptcy if I would've kept mine. Ohlins really make the bike shine, so much so that it'll make you notice the swingarm play in the twisties--mine made a "thunk" on a hard switchback that was really hard to ignore (and catch my bud on his FZ09). Felt like wheel slip and boy do these slip on a heavy handed throttle. Loved mine and loved seeing you hold on that pull up to speed, it's a core workout for sure!

    When I had my sporty I hated the suspension because it would just bottom out and tweak my back. But when I had my Dyna and especially my street glide I love hitting the dips in the road on stock suspension. It just feels cool and I’ll purposely roll on the throttle in those spots as if I’m gonna jump a 700lb bike. It’s the bumps that I don’t like. That’s when I feel like I need an aftermarket suspension. Especially with my fat ass.

      Was the oil sumping issue specific to the TC 117 or the M8 117? Finding a lot online in regard to the M8 and the replacement with the redesigned oil pump HD launched in 2017 in order to rectify the issue...?

    • @etmane6510
      @etmane6510 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was due to m8 117, Stage 3 kit. Yes, they redesigned the oil pumps for m8's. But that is still not sufficient for the 117's.@@JayJay-nm9vm

    • @etmane6510
      @etmane6510 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Google Road Glide CVO Forum. And you will see a lot of owners talking about the same issue. Yes Harley modified the oil pump after the initial M8's hit the ground. But they are trying to run 1 oil pump for all. The 117 need a performance oil pump. I had to get a brand new bike. I'm going to void my warranty they say, but I'm putting Feuling Oil pump and cam plate on my new bike. @@JayJay-nm9vm

I don't have much experience but I have a 2018 Sport Glide. I just got back from a ride out on the farm roads north of Dallas and was thinking how smooth and solid the ride feels. What's your impression on the new Softail suspension/frame compared to some to the custom suspensions available. It seems very nice to me but I don't have anything for comparison.

      He's in California and it's legal to lane split in that state. He's not riding like an asshole. He's just riding. WTF??? Everyone does it in California. It's actually safer I think because you can get away from a cluster of cars or a lot of traffic by doing so.

    • @JayJay-nm9vm
      @JayJay-nm9vm 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep - As Donnie Baker would say: “State Law!” Other states need to get onboard and allow riders to split lanes. One of the benefits to having a bike in the People’s Republic is the ability to negate traffic.
      Being from SoCal and having lived/worked in NorVA, I split lanes all the time and there’s nothing better than looking at a pissed-off, frustrated face when you blast past them in 100+ degree humidity on the I-95.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Question. I think at our deal we probably sell at least 50% of our bikes touring? Is that your question?
      I think the rest of the US as well. atleast half the bikes are on the touring chassis.

      @@radumihaibadescu5089 honestly that’s a hard question because I also went with a cam suited to me riding style. So a little more than just the 122 kit

    High bars on Harley's sportiest machine? It doesn't make sense. The lowrider s is an awesome bike all stock. Imagine if the crotch rocket guys would install high t bars or ape hangers. It doesn't make sense.
    And what's with the handguards as if it's a dual sport motorcycle?
