Also makes me think about how watching other mainstream Starcraft channels can lead mislead you into doing things that don't make any sense. I came here from your latest B2GM series, which you sadly did not complete. Honestly, this here is much more of a joy to watch, because we as your students feel you have fun here too - sadly, in the 2021 series this was not the case. I am glad you canceled it, although it was so damn much helpful and I am still glad you made it (if my words make any sense). However, I hope so much you still have fun playing and teaching this wonderful game, even though we have so much trolls in twitch chat as well as in-game. You are a huge part of the SC2 community. All the best from Germany und keep up the great work!
ViBE - I came back and watched this video for the second time (a few months in between). I learned lots more and it has helped a lot. I was stuck on the edge of plat 3/2 and I feel like I understand why I was losing a lot more. Yes, my macro sucks. But I also feel like I can scout much better now and react so much better. Thank you, I love this series!
This format and the way you're progressing your strategy and mechanics with the leagues is really great man. This is gold. Looking forward to high diamond/low masters for myself.

It's really disappointing that Rotti thinks this series is cheap content. Some bullshit about "stealing MMR" as if it doesn't take 2 wins max to make up the loss lmao. Also his nonsense about "theres nothing about the bronze to gm that isn't available on TH-cam guides already" which is also BS since all the guides are just, do this, and do it fast. Not one other than Vibe (and Neuro for Zerg only) actually explaining HOW and WHY to do it. Lucky for some to have thousands hours of other RTS game experience before SC2 to draw from. I really like Rotti as a commentator, but his years of being good at RTS has really warped him into some elitist mindset that anyone can learn from watching GM players moving their camera at 400 APM, when in reality, watching those people when you have no idea in the first place, cannot help. It would be like trying to learn tennis from watching Federer at the grand slams, rather than years of coaching about the fundementals.
M2theAGGOT this is absoluty the best giude Ever for sc2. Im sure, if more People know about that guid, much less new People to sc2 would quit the game After a couple of Matches.
I'm a returning player of over a couple of years and have been using the Gold league "rules" so far...but I've made it back to diamond 3 using this play style of 85 drones and Re-Max attack - and ignoring a lot of things that I used to focus on like harassment and over-reacting to attacks. This is by far the most I've been willing to change the way I play because of how clear he explains why you need to understand certain things and their priorities before moving to the next step. I really am hoping to practice as much as it takes to get Masters this time around, thank you so much for the videos!

I quickly found your series and damn it helps SO MUCH. I love it! Great explanation and showcasing of how to do things on the respective skill level. Keep it up!

I ranked up to Platinum 2 on my own and now I will continue watching. My gameplay has changed so much. I was just Silver in hots. I came back recently and now I start out in Platinum, it's incredible.
The game 2 hours in was a great learning experience. We didnt have as chance yet to see him losing and its very helpful to see how to react with tech switches and playing from behind.
Im getting through this series pretty quick, its been very helpful. My last game I was bunker rushed outside my natural and I could hear ViBE just telling me not to worry about it and keep expanding. I morphed a couple spine crawlers, made a round of roaches, then just kept expanding the other way. One of the easiest wins ive had. Only thing that has sucked which I havent learned from this series yet, I was probe rushed and had no idea what to do. I mean I had just thrown my pool down so I had no Idea what I was supposed to do to stop it. I suppose properly micro drones and attack back is all I can do
Not sure what rank you are, but if you send an overlord to scout his natural, then you should see the probes coming across the map. Should be able to just make a spine crawler at your natural. Not really sure about the timing on a probe rush?
@@Lithane97 So I was Silver league a week ago, just hit platinum last night, and what I was doing wrong was targeting individual workers instead of attack moving the ground.
@@Inbal_Feuchtwanger makes sense. You should have more drones by the time he gets there, one of the reasons I was a tad confused what the issue really was.
Just want to say I really appreciate your response to some of those questionable games. That's a really great attitude that you have! That being said! I also think it's cool to see you lose. Because! you stay soo cool, and really show that it's just about learning not winning :)
3:19:39 is that an American impersonating an Italian impersonating a Frenchman impersonating a Syrian? You and your cunning linguistics get me every time Vibu.
2:22:56 how would you back up and make broods with that money if you are maxed out? You had to free up supply. I think the minimal micro solution would have been to grab a few of those hydras and right click the nexus while the rest of the army dies to the colossi
That's the beautiful part of a video, you can skip ahead. I do deep analysis often for players who want to understand why they do things rather than just being told "do this".
2:19:58 I’m not on Vibes skill and knowledge level by any means but I disagree that throwing a whole army away wasn’t the reason he lost. Granted focusing on macro is absolutely correct but pulling your army away from a hard counter in my opinion isn’t the micro he is warning about tunnel visioning on. Once he poked the third and found out the colossus were hitting him from the other side of the map, pull back and make lurkers. Other than that yes everything else he said is true.
One question, how do you hold a terran tank marine early timing slow push? They just siege just outside creep and start chipping away and I can't expand, and roach hydra just doesn't do it
I don't think you're supposed to defend one done properly. It's not a plat strategy. No legitimate platinum player will do it and macro properly behind. So if it's half-assed (as it should be in platinum), you can just overpower it with sheer number. But if it's done properly, you actually need banelings and speedlings to complement your hydras.
wait did i see that right?? You bring your mouse to the top right and it TELLS YOU the drone count? I have played this game for years and never knew that......
How I stagger with no micro is just shift click siege. Shift cancel, shift move siege. It does it all on its own. Kinda like what you do with workers from mineral to gas
Maybe SeltzerHero (the Colossus Protoss) showed us how important creep is, because he did build his own creep with his pylons 😄 Do you think our hydra did get scouted by it and got stuck a little, and had a not so nice concave on the base, because SeltzerHero did send his army fast enough?
Looks like Plat got much better since the previous series :) A question: new map pool has a lot of temporary bottlenecks with rocks and minerals. Should plat-level zerg take time and attention to clear them? It feel like a big deal for zerg armies.
Your early game plan doesn't work at all in my games, I get multi-prong charge lotted or bio-ball or something like that and 10 roaches aren't ever enough to defend it. even scouting it they get here faster than the back-up roaches can finish, any suggestion to fix?
It applies only in those cases when enemy toss takes natural early, it gives you a lot of time, also if enemy is making immortal it will add up extra 3 minutes or so for him to attack because robo cost a lot to build and he will only have 1 of it to make immortals and immortals have 40 sec build time and since 1 immo is never enough he will spend a lot of time making 3-4 immos. So you must know what kind of army you're against to optimise between making drones to making other army units, if you see that toss is just making a loy of stalkers/zealots than you should prioritize making more roaches early, all in all its all about scouting information.
@@RWEaurelius There was a short analysis at the start of the next game, but to sum it up: Opponent rushed VERY greedy multiple expansions (counter possible with timing or harrassment micro), opponent had a massive lead in economy and compounded that with a LOT of micro intensive play with the Vipers. (Vibe doesnt allow himself to counter with micro at Plat). As a plat player you dropping eco to micro spellcasters or harrassment is not what Vibe wants you to practice.
AureliuS this Game make no Sense to Analyse. This dude is clearly not a plat player, so you cant learn anything from this Game. Same like a GM smashes a Diamond 3 Player. There is nothing to learn because the skill gap is horrendous
I love the series vibe but plats aren’t just complete garbage. Everyone talks about plat like it’s a low league and everyone there sucks, but the amount of zealot harass on multiple bases at once in plat is very common. I run in to 2 base Protoss and macro to 5 bases but still lose because I can’t defend all of them at once.
9:40 No reason? How about, ending the game? I hate how declawed sc2 is. Even the players forgot how to go for the throat. Uggh. 38:25 You are trying to give ypur self way too much credit. You made those roaches before your ling died and actually halted production for a bit after it died. Yes, that is how Zerg is played, but no, you didn't pull off an example. What we seen was more of a Stephano thing. Maxed out 3 bases, as much as you could, then just max out on roaches. You didn't do that, but what you did is closer to that than what you claimed you were doing. 39:54 Yeah, that didn't happen. You stopped making stuff till he was at the front of your base. 44:15 You should have showed we he had. His whole army died and we know he can only make 4 units at a time. Had you built an army and attacked, he wouldn't have held. At the very least you could keep him on two based, maybe 1.5 really, as you slapped up to 4 or 5 bases. Offense is the best defense, especially when you know you have bigger guns, which you did. But you are passive, its fine. Just pointing this all out because you keep making it seem like offense at any point is bad, which it isn't. Offense is op in the right hands. 48:13 You had that window ever since his army died... didn't stop you then. But overall, static d is good for an offensive player if and when you wanna keep the pressure on. Helps discourage harassment. 55:57 Agreed. What you should be thinking is, "can I end it?" Your approach is to literally just choke them out financially. Its like you forgot there is other win conditions. I guess that is why Maru happened. Gotta admit, don't like your approach. Not giving them a kill mentality is not good. Didn't like Marus way either, he was too extreme one way or another. Too easy to counter. Gotta be water, be able to flow but also be able to crash at the same time, not alternating in different games. 59:24 You say you can recover faster and show off the econ numbers that came to be after you already recovered and killed a base of his with said recovered army. Point being, go back to before you built your army, your econ difference wasn't that much. You are misleading people trying to justify your passive strategy. Stop lying or stop being stupid. Only one of those is true but one is for sure true. Pick. Aggro is a fine strat if you do it right. It isn't just a macro game, it is an RTS. You treat it like its some farm simulator. Game is better than that. 1:00:00 and prior So you're saying stutter step is too advanced for people in plat? Are you high? Oh wait, sniff 😒. Anyway, you could move your army up as one group. Even people in red cup with a hole in it league can do that... 1:01:30 Nice lesson, dude, just be better than them. Got it. Isn't this supposed to be a teaching series here? Oof. 1:04:00ish Lolololol microing is a gamble. Alright dude. Taking your natural is a gamble because they could block it. Better just 1 base yo. Then at 1:05:00 talks about injects and larvae. You understand that doing those two things is micro as well? Macro in a sense is micro. You want to be good at clicking things is the point. Get fast, microing your army is a good way to do it 1:06:23 Stutter stepping at least would have won the game in that fight alone. The thing YOU need to realize is you are more crisp than actual plat players or w.ee and this crap works better for you. How about you play at 40 apm next time and intentionally make mistakes. See how well you smash over that opponent then. I wanted to finish the first game, but I can't man. I gotta end it here. This is making me a terrible sc2 player with no claws or fangs. I tried.
Isolation and learning one thing at a time. Vibe is suggesting to learn to Macro from bronze to gold, start worrying about strategy in Plat and tactics in Diamond. It's not a bad way to look at it. Maybe not your favourite way and I understand that. Alternatively you could learn to multitask first and get inspiration from Florencio. That will probably lead you to being at least Master - the choice is yours :)
@@NinjaOnANinja More specific about what? ViBe is suggesting to learn Macro first and play SimCity until early platinium. Just build your base, 82 drones, 10 roches, max 200 hydra by 8:30. Attack and remax. The idea is to build a solid fundation for higher leages. Until early plat, it works. At Plat, continue with your solid SimCity but add basic scouting, build your composition according to your intel and fight where it's advantageous. That is one path to becoming GM. The big thing is that he avoids multitasking as much as possible. So early leagues, he plays passive. If you want, you can start by multitask training. Use maps like liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Multitasking_Trainer . Then by all means, be aggressive while you are building your economy :) The youtube channel FLORENCIO has a great selection of cheese that transition well to a later game. And he play high diamon/low master. If you want more specific, please ask a specific question !
@@jonathanscher And what makes you think learning the game that way actually works? If the goal of learning the game that way is only to get to plat, whats the point? What do you do after that? As far as florencio and multitasking, again, what makes you think that matters?

@@Lithane97 So I was Silver league a week ago, just hit platinum last night, and what I was doing wrong was targeting individual workers instead of attack moving the ground.
@@Inbal_Feuchtwanger makes sense. You should have more drones by the time he gets there, one of the reasons I was a tad confused what the issue really was.
Just want to say I really appreciate your response to some of those questionable games. That's a really great attitude that you have!
That being said! I also think it's cool to see you lose. Because! you stay soo cool, and really show that it's just about learning not winning :)
Best sc2 content out there for actually learning. Free too!
Vibe. You are the best. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
ohhhhh shieeeet.... 6 hours !
I know what I'm going to do over the weekend :D
Vibe, thank you man :)
I wanted to see Vibe blow that Cheesus guy out of the water so bad.
Thank you so much for this serie, dude.
Don't worry about 1 BC, only worry about 5sd
- I don't think anyone wants to watch a six hour video.
- Watch me xD
3:19:39 is that an American impersonating an Italian impersonating a Frenchman impersonating a Syrian? You and your cunning linguistics get me every time Vibu.
“When you’re not even playing this game pretend you’re macroing.” Hahhahaha
2:22:56 how would you back up and make broods with that money if you are maxed out? You had to free up supply. I think the minimal micro solution would have been to grab a few of those hydras and right click the nexus while the rest of the army dies to the colossi
During this video im cleaning my mechanical keyboard and the only key switches I replaced...
5sd lol
bro the vid length isn't a problem...ANALYZING A 15 MINUTE GAME FOR AN HOUR IS. love literally everything else but that's painful
If he actually sent that army into the third base and knocked his opponent back down to two bases that would have been the difference for that game.
We need a 2020 series. One good thing this year
One question, how do you hold a terran tank marine early timing slow push? They just siege just outside creep and start chipping away and I can't expand, and roach hydra just doesn't do it
I don't think you're supposed to defend one done properly. It's not a plat strategy. No legitimate platinum player will do it and macro properly behind. So if it's half-assed (as it should be in platinum), you can just overpower it with sheer number. But if it's done properly, you actually need banelings and speedlings to complement your hydras.
Doesnt matter the league or if you won or lose, doesn't matter the rank or the MMR; The real GrandMastery is the friends we made along the way.
2:25:00 some overseers would work well to kill the protos observers and prevent him from killing the lurkers
What does the Spire say? 3:58:52 :D
Awesome stream! Many thanks
Cheezus heard ViBe say if he snipes again the gloves come off and Cheezus was never heard from or seen again. 🤔
wait did i see that right?? You bring your mouse to the top right and it TELLS YOU the drone count? I have played this game for years and never knew that......
me either i am not sure if its implemented since WoL
That change was recent. The game didn’t do that in Early LoTV
Life saver Vibe
4 hours in..still going lol
Cheezus is like, I must break this man's spirit. 4:51:40
5+s+d 5+s+d you are a genius 5+s+d....
1st game:
probe: "imah gunna block his natural"
Drone: "o...k... imah gunna take 3rd first"
probe: "wait! Thats illegal"
You're a big legend Vibe
How I stagger with no micro is just shift click siege. Shift cancel, shift move siege. It does it all on its own. Kinda like what you do with workers from mineral to gas
lol Cheesus was also just happened to blindly make hard counters to whatever you were making
8:27 how he does that? which micro skill is that?
Maybe SeltzerHero (the Colossus Protoss) showed us how important creep is, because he did build his own creep with his pylons 😄
Do you think our hydra did get scouted by it and got stuck a little, and had a not so nice concave on the base, because SeltzerHero did send his army fast enough?
2:55:00 Probably Cheesus stream sniped and then played super greedy since he knew that Vibe wouldn't attack early since this is B to GM
Looks like Plat got much better since the previous series :)
A question: new map pool has a lot of temporary bottlenecks with rocks and minerals. Should plat-level zerg take time and attention to clear them? It feel like a big deal for zerg armies.
Yes. Chokes kill zerg and the maps are chokey enough to begin with
What an absolute tool this Cheesus is
best streamer ever
Jesus its cheesus again
drone building, the game
is 360p the highest quality available for this one? Love the series, love having a 6-hour video to watch :D
I think it is freshly uploaded and the other resolutions aren't available yet.
How many games have you played as Zerg? In total.
Vatelize 5
first game was so calming to watch :)
Let's all agree we hate Cheesus
Some people just enjoy being assholes.
@@cellardoor70 I wanna see Vibe destroy him next time playing GM level XD
Tbh, I’d probably look at my gas around 2h11m and GG at that point
51:02 , 59:48 , 1:02:10 , 1:37:10 , 1:38:38 , 1:40:13
@Vibe did you ever get to fuck up Cheesus again?
I feel like all my games go like 1:57:23
3:08:05 It's about complaining on the internet :)
I was wondering abou that too. I mean i love this series and I respect the hell out of ViBe. But wouldnt analysing the loss be a good teaching tool?
2020 should be a random b2gm!!
Nop
Let me get a mcpick 2
these people are so much worse then the people i play against in platinum
9:40
No reason? How about, ending the game?
I hate how declawed sc2 is. Even the players forgot how to go for the throat.
Uggh.
38:25
You are trying to give ypur self way too much credit.
39:54
Yeah, that didn't happen. You stopped making stuff till he was at the front of your base.
44:15
You should have showed we he had.
48:13
You had that window ever since his army died... didn't stop you then.
But overall, static d is good for an offensive player if and when you wanna keep the pressure on. Helps discourage harassment.
55:57
Agreed. What you should be thinking is, "can I end it?"
Your approach is to literally just choke them out financially.
59:24
You say you can recover faster and show off the econ numbers that came to be after you already recovered and killed a base of his with said recovered army.
1:00:00 and prior
So you're saying stutter step is too advanced for people in plat? Are you high? Oh wait, sniff 😒. Anyway, you could move your army up as one group. Even people in red cup with a hole in it league can do that...
1:01:30
Nice lesson, dude, just be better than them. Got it.
Isn't this supposed to be a teaching series here? Oof.
1:04:00ish
Lolololol microing is a gamble. Alright dude. Taking your natural is a gamble because they could block it. Better just 1 base yo.
Then at 1:05:00 talks about injects and larvae. You understand that doing those two things is micro as well? Macro in a sense is micro. You want to be good at clicking things is the point. Get fast, microing your army is a good way to do it
1:06:23
Stutter stepping at least would have won the game in that fight alone.
@@jonathanscher be more specific.
