Awesome job. I kind of get electrical enough to be dangerous and always never had enough confidence to connect it together. Thanks for walking thru how all the connections are supposed to connect. Clears up a lot of confusion and gives me the confidence to set one of these systems up. Thank you so much.
Yes I agree, it can be very nerve racking! Especially when you spend all of this money on equipment. Glad the video was helpful. Thanks for watching and good luck with your build!
I live in Atlanta, GA and I have just received my Canbat battery based on your positive review of the product and plan on ordering another one. I haven't tested it yet but it appears to be high quality. I will let you know how it performs. I'd like to know if you would continue using your 200 amp circuit breaker if you had to add another battery or would you go with a 250 amp breaker? Thank you
@@simol4538 thanks for informing me about your purchase! I'm very interested how your experience is. Please let me know. They are a great company and have been in the battery business a long time! Honestly when it comes to fusing, I'd ask a professional, as every situation is different. My 200amp for the single battery should be replaced with a smaller fuse (I changed plans and bought 1 battery instead of 2). I'd look up the technical specifications of your battery and see what the max rated current is. Typically you'd fuse to 1.25 that amount. Enjoy your new battery! You're going to love it.

You look a lot like my oldest son, he is going to be 48 this year. Congratulations for your outstanding work you have done, good luck in everything you do. Very nice install :) Would you mind giving the exact reference for your positive bus bar? The one linked in your description is not the same type and I'm looking for something which looks exactly yours (with the square clamp on the side) thabks buddy :)
Joel. Where did you get the diagram and did you just follow what was on there or was it custom made for you? Reason I ask is I am pretty well following it with the exception of Renogy 200w panel(s), the 3000w inverter/charger (what a BEAST!) and 30A shore plug. I am assuming that 14/3 wire is not right for a 30A plug.
I made the diagram myself. I'm not an electrician but I'm sure for 30A you want to run bigger wire. It would be the same as you would in your house. 10/3 I think but don't quote me on it! Good luck with your build!
@@JoelTremblayCA Joel. I now notice that I have the shunt but may have missed what you have attached to it. Can you tell me what I would be looking for?
Hi Joel. I found your channel shortly after work today and have been binge watching your videos all night. 😁 You've done an excellent job throughout and should be very proud of your finished product. I'm going to be doing a similiar build and think I'll be using some of your ideas on mine. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Job well done. Take care.
The ground post was given to me by a friend. Not sure what model it is but it's basically a clamp post with a screw hole. I used a self tapping screw to secure to the trailer frame, I cleaned the frame rail with my grinder before attaching it
Question, just got the same inverter. Are you running a single 100ah lifepo4 battery or 3? I understand that the batteries need to meet 300ah for a 3000w inverter?
I've got the 2000W inverter and I run it with a single 100Ah battery. The recommendations are for 2 but I didn't have the budget. No problem running the inverter, just be aware that you may not be able to use the whole 2000w the inverter has to offer as it would draw too much amperage from the battery. I think that's how it works, I'm not entirely sure.
im in florida close to tampa looking for somone to help me install my solar any recommendations on how to find someone large solar companies wont install on rv or trailers
You should change out that 200amp breaker for a 50amp or if you can find a 60amp. You always fuse to the max input of your item so if something happens you don’t over power it and let the smoke out
if you had this plugged into shore power is it capable of charging your battery as well as powering that breaker at the same time, thats running say a gaming laptop and what would be the smallest of window ac units? on just the 15amp
let me rephrase a bit and make it more clear what im asking. can the inverter charger act as a passthrough if shore power is plugged in to power the AC 120? im not asking if you can run an ac off 100ah of lifepo4.. im just unfamiliar with this kind of inverter.
To answer the first part, yes it can be set to utility priority or battery priority when plugged into shore power. For the second part, I'm not sure honestly. I don't plan to use AC so I haven't ever researched this.
@@JoelTremblayCA awesome, thanks man! btw ive used one of those diesel heaters in a short 21ft old crappy camper and it will get hot enough to make you miserable! they are awesome.
Joel quick question for you. Did you set it up where when your main cut off switch is off it off your solar will still keep your battery charging? Awesome set up. I built one trailer and sold it and I am on my second now. I like how you did this. Diesel heaters are awesome but learn to tune it for elevation. I learned a lot about those heaters.
@@JoelTremblayCA I gotcha. That was kinda what I figured looking at it. My first one I left the solar separate to allow for solar charging while I am gone. Worked really well keeping the battery peaked out.
You size it by your inverter. If it can pull a max 200 amps, use a 200amp fuse. Same with your solar panels and such.. do the math and see what the maximum amperage is... add 10% or so amd size the fuse to that :)
