If stuff like this didn’t exist, people wouldn’t be so used to it and they would maybe use their brains for a second rather than taking it all at face value. The problem isn’t just that people are genuinely stupid, the problem is with how much content people are swiping through. They don’t pause to think about things. They just need to keep feeding their insatiable hunger for any kind of content to keep their brains from feeling anything. It’s disgusting and depressing and I hate seeing the world like this but sadly it’s not even an exaggeration.
I do hold this against the creators of the videos. They’re seizing an opportunity, same as anyone else, but I think it’s undeniable that they are partially to blame for the dumbing down of social media and hundreds of millions of people
