mac plastering thanks. To be honest it’s not the whole wall that’s only a patch that’s blown out due to an oil tank that’s was sitting above it. So it would just be patching that part. It’s about 6ft wide by 3ft tall
Hi buddy have a bigger dry dash one where im finishing off a big massive wall i did it was not easy I can tell ya that LOL But back to this one it was a warm day haha , Thanks for the support mate much appreciated :)
Fair play to you doing pebble dash on your todd Mac. I used to hate it. Probably psychologically damaged at a young age, as my first solo job was an office courtyard (Old Brick) it had loads of suction and it was a baking hot day. Thought I had it all sussed out until I went back to throw the dash on ...... most bounced off again ..... AARRGGHH!!!!! ...... Had to put a load in by hand :-) :-) The worst thing was ..... all the office staff were 'down-tools' and watching me ......... :-(
Oh man sounds a bad day alright .... I rember dashing in heat and the guys i was working for had a mix on but the sun cooked it lets just say they used a kango to get it out .... yea them old backgrounds and this heat makes this job much harder
Nice job Malc. Been using my ox dasher the last couple of years , had the 6inch Refina one before that , expensive but lovely to use , lost it somewhere 😂.
Does the waterproofer make the mix stickier? I tried today with a mix of 1 part white cement and 3 parts sand and a few drops of washing up liquid as plasticizer but the plaster wasn't sticky enough for the smooth, rounded, 1/2 inch size river pebbles to adhere properly to. Any tips for getting the plaster sticky without any additives except for cement and sand? I noticed that the stones stick well to a paste made from just cement + water (zero sand), so could I use that?
So if you are putting on stones at half inch your coat needs to be at least 1/4 inch thick to receive them, but your mix should have been nice and sticky as is , this mix is 4 to 1 I would say you could add a scoop of lime to help make it lighter and fluffyer mate
@@macplastering alright thanks, yeah the pebbles should be sticking with a 1:3 mix shouldn't they, maybe because they're smooth rounded pebbles they don't stick as well as the angular ones. I'll try dampening the pebbles as well before throwing them on and see if that helps.
