@@lojieabellana6344 Great! Just a couple of grammar mistakes. Here is my correction: The effects of gadgets on students in 10th grade can either be positive or negative, depending on the individual.
This thesis shows that you will discuss how the effects of gadgets can be both positive and negative and will show how that can differ depending on the person.
Frankly speaking, this professor is the best. I am a new student in a writing course and for sure she has made me able to make thesis statements from any subject. I owe her a lot of gratitude.

I got a question in academic writing which one is more good to use specific or general thesis?
I prefer the specific one because it has more information, which makes it more clear to both the reader and the writer

If you write on the spot, that's fine. It's important for you to know how to write a thesis statement easily and correctly so that you can write on the spot quickly. It takes some practice, but you can do it! 😀

Yes, but it depends on the writing assignment. If you need to write a full essay, the thesis statement comes at the end of the introduction. That means that the introduction paragraph contains a hook to catch the reader’s attention and some background information and finally ends with the thesis statement at the end of the introduction paragraph

I think that making a quick, small outline will help you focus. Also, try to remind yourself that it's good just to get started. Do what you can, and then you can add to your essay later.

How do we do a thesis statement to a music video
That depends on what your essay is supposed to discuss. What do you want to reader to know? Once you know that, you can write your thesis statement.
Look at your assignment and look for a question that you are supposed to answer. Try to see what the different parts of your essay are supposed to do. Are you analyzing a music video? Explaining why a music video is your favorite?
Climate change can cause many problems; 3 main effects of climate change are sea ice loss, accelerated sea level rise, and longer, more intense heat waves. How is this for a thesis statement? I would greatly appreciated it if u can get back to me on this, i need to see if im on the right track.
The thesis statement is very good! I would probably separate the two parts into two separate sentences since the thesis should really just focus on the main idea (the three main effects...).

You're right, you should not write the thesis statement as a question. However, you should make a question that you keep for yourself as the question that you are trying to answer. The answer to that question is the thesis statement.
For example: What are the reasons that people should have a pet? People should have a pet for the following reasons: companionship, exercise, and ...
The question helps you focus on what you are trying to accomplish in the essay. The answer to the question is your thesis statement.

I can't refer my students to your site because your captions are not in correct punctuation. ADA rules say I can't use sources that are captioned fully.
Thanks for letting me know. I use automatic captions from TH-cam because it would take hours for me to edit all the captions for my videos. However, because this is a popular video, I will add correct punctuation to the captions today.
@@LearnAcademicEnglish I know; I'm a teacher, too. It's just that I cannot recommend a video to students because of the restrictions on online classes due to ADA conformity. I think there's a service that produces captions. After you get them back, you would need to comb through them to catch the glitch here or there. Get a graduate student or senior English major to help; offer independent study. Students are looking to build their resumes. If you are not affiliated with an institution, you can approach one or two with the proposal to work on language arts and writing videos.
