awesome joyride, mate!!!! We just had a lovely run out on the lake here on Chris's FX1 with the ginakker and after 3 power rides, we managed to execute a perfet pitchpole!!! Flew into the drink like a couple of cormorans diving for sprats. But all good. Like you said, it's a positive experience and we learned a lot. Keep up the great vids, Joe!!!

That's an amazing run. Would having the Irish crew forward a bit more have improved performance. Leeward bow seems a little high on the upwind? Obviously, the downwind was perfectly executed.. 😂
Yes, possibly at times we were trimmed a little too far aft.
Of course, putting the daggers down on the upwind would have made the big difference.

Hi Joe, nice vid - why do you give that much rotation even upwind? The mast hast more than 1sqm against which the wind is blowing in case of rectangular twds front.
I find that with the mast rotated in such a way it's easier to sheet in and bend the mast further.

Why are you not use the DS mainsail??
Using the regular main as it's more user friendly for the less experienced crews

I’m scared of foot straps - might sprain an ankle
Don't think of it as a foot strap. More of a toe strap. Just enough leverage to keep you back on the boat in a quick dip, but not enough foot in to get stuck in a sudden deceleration. Best way to do that is to set the strap so your whole foot won't even fit inside.

There is a small risk but we make sure that they’re big enough to easily get out
