the maximum GST rate in india is 28%..... but gvt earns more 28% on petrol..around 40%.. on the other hand tax on petrol is very volatile , since it depends on the international mrkt. therefore gvt keeps changing its tax on the basis of import cost..
@@supersohit8161 that means government apply their own tax policy according to the international market they do not apply GST which is max 28% why will they apply GST and earn max 28 percentage when they can earn more than that. That's why u can see petrol price differences in different states of India.
