In our four-part series “You Own It,” we’re taking a look into the lives of hard-working Mainers whose relationship with the state is deeply infused in their work.
Meet Emily Bastian, a Registered Maine Guide who has been fishing since she was eight years old - and still remembers the first fish she caught, on an L.L.Bean fly rod. She always has a pair of Maine-made Bean Boots in her truck, which have helped carry her full circle, from learning to fish on Maine rivers to teaching others how to get outside and enjoy all nature has to offer.
Since 1912, we’re put a bit of the essence of Maine into everything we make: products that are hard-working, rugged, unique, and built to stand the test of time. But a boot, or a bag, or a shirt, isn’t truly finished until you add your story to it, too. We make it. You own it.
