Wow, what an inspiration. 50+ marathons in a year is insane at any age. Ran my last full marathon at 73 then moved on to triathlon and got to enjoy the challenges of endurance open water swimming. Now at 75 focusing again on distance running. Sometimes I wonder why I do it. Then when I heard a 71 year old woman casually mention her speed work training session I remembered the reason, to stay young. When you're fit and trained, standing in the starting queue for some race, the feeling is the same as it was when you were a teen, alive, full of energy, and eager for the challenge. Running free without much effort is almost like flying and I am so grateful that I am still capable of running long distance.
Wow Jacqui, you are a real inspiration! As a fellow 71 y.o., I can only but dream of running at the speed that you do. I’ve been a runner for 40 years, a sub-4 hr marathon is a very distant memory
Wow what an inspiration.I’m 55 and on marathon 18 and my goal is 50 by 60 years old.listening to this story gets me fired up to go out today.thanks coach parry as well ,I have been following your strength workouts for a while now. And the transformation has been incredible
Lovely to see you looking so well Jackie. I will never forget my Comrades run when you were there and the great friendships I made too. The race really does live up to it's name. A Great and inspirational interview, thank you.
Lovely to see Jackie, who I had the pleasure of meeting ten years ago when we were both in the group of UL runners doing Comrades. I remember how excited we all were when she won her AG! In 2015 she had a nasty knee problem but had booked Comrades, so, under instructions from her medics, ran the first 5 miles of it and then bailed so she could demonstrate what the knee looked like after some running! It's so, so good to see how well she recovered from that. + Shout out to Danni S who I also remember from those happy times!
Hi thank you so much for sharing your story! I felt very defeated today as went for my 4th zone 2 run- every time I saw a human my ego pushed my heart rate up last 3 attempts so today I was just focused on nasal breathing and singing along rather than looking at my watch but after 2 hours (usually would be invigorating) came back so tired as no matter how much I tried it seems that loosing bounce energy made it harder for my legs and it was sooo boring. I wonder if Jaqcui had a social platform of her own?

Don't offend the 'running is bad for you crowd.' They will no doubt be out in full force to spam the comments.
