Susan Lucci went through that for years as well. She finally won the Day Time Emmy long overdue. She was one of the most popular Daytime actresses for years that we all loved. We couldn’t understand how she kept getting nominated and not winning.
You can’t compare the 2. Lucci was on her 16th nomination. Angela’s only been nominated twice. Glenn Close has been nominated 8 times and never won. That’s an actress to really get behind.

I am not hardly mad that Jamie Lee Curtis won. I was rooting for Angela Bassett twin and I just assumed she was going to win. It never crossed my mind that she wouldn't win. If they would have given Jamie a lifetime achievement award that would've been fine, i like Jamie lee however the award was for best supporting role, two of those nominees are from the same movie and of all the nominees Jamie's role was mediocre in comparison.

I didn't watch the JLC movie so I won't say AB was robbed or snubbed. I will say she's a phenomenal actress and if winning the Oscar's is something SHE needs to feel validated then I hope she gets one. I think what’s happening with Ms Bassett is for the most part thru out her career she has ALWAYS played a strong black woman and in real life she is a strong black woman obviously. So I’m thinking the academy will recognize her when she plays a part that is the complete antithesis of what she typically does. And it’s actually kind of a shame that it has to result to that. It’s almost like how Denzel had to play a crooked cop before he won or Halle Berry in the explicit sex scene in Monsters Ball. Ms Bassett literally will have to play a broken down character that we NEVER seen her play before. Sad tho. She most definitely shouldn’t have to compromise her integrity or choice in movies just to win an Oscar and I doubt she will ever do that

I absolutely ADORE Angela Bassett and her amazing abililty to bring characters to life through her craft. 🧡... I've never seen the movie that Jamie Lee Curtis won for (and I probably won't b/c it didn't sound that interesting), however, I don't believe Angela Bassett's role in Black Panther was not her best "stand out" role by far (It was kinda a background character/role). It wasn't written to be a "stand out" role. 🤔... I do, however, believe Angela Bassett has had MANY other roles that she SHOULD HAVE been considered for this award. 🤨

I seen mostly all the movies in the category. Jamie Lee absolutely deserved the award just as much as Auntie Angela. I don’t think she was robbed. But I do think Stephanie Hsu was robbed, her performance was incredible in the same movie as Jamie Lee. Everything Everywhere All At Once deserved every award it received last night. It was my favorite movie last year. I put so many people on to that movie. I can honestly say, that it was thee most creative movie I’ve ever seen.
They were both great but JL was phenomenal and it was a way more serious movie than a marvel film. Angela Basset can take any role and make it unforgettable. It just wasn’t her time. JL has been acting for 45 years and this is her 1st nomination, also Angela won in every other Award ceremony prior to the Oscars. Like it or not the it was a diverse winner’s circle.
Saw both & there are no comparisons! Angela acts from her SOUL. There's a dramatic difference in acting because it's a job/role, but acting from your SOUL is galaxies apart from clocking in. EVERY MOVIE I've seen her in she has been so breath taking, this is why I cried in every movie.

I'm a huge Angela Bassett fan, but I wasn't surprised when she lost. She may have won the Golden Globe and Critic's Choice , but they don't overlap with the Oscars. She lost the Bafta (which surprised no one). At the SAG awards, to whom did Angela lose the award to? The answer is Jaimie Lee Curtis!!! When the Oscar nominations were announced, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE had 11 nominations (including Best Picture) while BLACK PANTHER had 5. Jaimie was able to take advantage of the film's momentum and popularity. Let's also not forget the bias some Academy voters still have over the Marvel franchise. By the way ladies, I'm disappointed some of you treated Michelle Yeoh's historic win as a footnote. The Oscars have been around for 95 years, and an Asian actress has finally won in the lead category. This should also be celebrated.

It’s not like she lost to someone who was untalented or less deserving. It takes away from Jamie’s work and talent to say Angela was robbed.
