Armies are always jealous of Stray Kids and spew hatred on every social media. STAYS., please do not retaliate. Just ignore them just like Chan asked us to do.
25:40 I don't understand this complaint tbh. The songs weren't written for this album, they were written to be performed on tour. It would make zero sense for all 8 of them to do a solo hiphop track. And we already heard the songs and knew what they were, so why would you now expect them to fit the hiphop theme? The new tracks were hiphop inspired and the rest was just a compilation. That's why it was called a special album in the first place. I do understand the frustration though of it being called a special album, but being treated like a regular comeback, but also not. It was certainly a weird release. Regardless, I really enjoyed it. And good job putting the video together!
@@Tubatu4419 There's not really a set definition, but it's an album released for a "special" reason (holiday album, anniversary album, etc). Hop's "special purpose" was to officially release the solo tracks from tour. It is a comeback, just not in the same way that ATE was, you know? Just like Christmas EveL was not the same level of comeback as NoEasy. But they did more for this album than people were expecting, so that's the confusion, I guess.
8:54 I’m just getting started in this video but I’m already disappointed and need to say my peace. I’ve been ARMY for 9 years. While I’m not exactly a Stay, I really enjoy their music and the guys themselves seem incredibly nice, talented, funny and very hard working. Now. Any “ARMY” that is participating in this plagiarizing sh!t is either baby ARMY or just ignorant. BTS was dragged for YEARS for everything they did for being plagiarism. To the point where #plagerismboys was trending worldwide on that damn bird app. We, of all people would or should never pull this petty, unfounded garbage on another artist. Stays, I apologize and I can only hope that you understand most ARMY a) would never do this b) don’t believe this and most importantly c) we don’t claim them. Taming the children and the solos is exhausting, and we can’t frequently manage it, but we do try and we are sorry about their problematic a@@es. 💜
As a stay, I'm always delighted to see other fandoms being nice and supportive to skz. We stays need to remember that even if it feels like other fandoms are against us, it's really just a loud minority, and most people just quietly enjoy what they like. Stanning doesn't need to be a competition, we dont need to tear each other down, we can be good to each other ❤️
I'm hardcore army and I fully agree with this message. Leave these boys alone. The worst part is that Chan and JK are literally same age friends, and it's so irritating that the fans are always at war over nothing when these boys like and respect each other.
- Great explanation on the plagiarism issue, nowadays people are so quick to point fingers at kpop artists plagiarising something that it's lost its meaning. It's honestly annoying and just overall bad vibes. - Walking on Water... I don't know why so many people have issues with the Harry Potter reference haha. They made a lot of references in that song too like Aquaman, Nemo, I think there are a couple more I've forgotten. It makes sense to me cause, not counting Han being a fan of HP too, but SKZ magic school is actually Harry Potter-coded, ATE literally had Deadpool and Wolverine in it, which is also a throwback to their Kingdom performance. SKZ songs actually have a lot of references in their music, lyrics and music videos. Giant was practically one big homage to animes like Attack on Titan and Dragonball. But at the same time, SKZ alludes those references to themselves. Their songs and lyrics have a lot of double meanings from what I've noticed. But they're also just chaotic and goofy like that too. - HOP album name... has a double meaning to it too. Actually maybe triple meaning. It's a play on the Korean word "hap" which means "unity" or "harmony". The individual characters of the word spells out "eight lives united as one heart" which a lot of Chinese speakers picked up on with a glance. And it also coincides with hip hop, which they made as the theme of their title track. I think they wanted "Bounce Back" to be the title track but it was too aggressive. But essentially, I don't think HOP was supposed to be a hip hop album in the first place. - U ft. Tablo... I honestly thought it fit in a lot more with this album than with ATE. ATE was already pretty heavy with Stray Kids and Twilight, along with CCB, Mountain and JJAM. I think U would have been drowned out by those tracks and putting it in HOP highlighted it a lot more. Tablo himself has a unique style and voice, which I thought fit in well with the solo songs' individual styles. - Amazingly enough, SKZ has been able to promote their HOP album between their tour AND brand ambassadorships too :') They're insane. - Life Is So Good... I think Hyunjin did mention he decided to make it into a dance track haha initially he wrote the song for fun but the members liked it. He even took out a lot of more playful lyrics and then decided to add a dance break for the final product. - As We Are... ok, but I attended their concert and when Seungmin stood up with the entire stage lit up too, my heart dropped then transcended into outer space. This song was insanely beautiful performed live and I would give anything to be able to see it again. All their stages were amazing, actually, but Seungmin's one particularly hit me hard. Yes, harder than Chan free falling on stage too haha. - I too have an issue with the autotune in SKZ songs, I wish they didn't have to use autotune lol
Armies are trying to hating skz hardly because of this song, meanwhile skz this is trending worldwide 😂 i want to say BTS RM's speech - Haters gonna hate, players gonna play 💀
The most best song this year for me is bounce back, because that is a very underrated track. Just because people keep downplaying Han or giving him credits where its due. He really did a double quintuplet on that track so it def. deserves its respect ❤
As a person who also tries to keep away from the nonsense on twitter, it speaks volumes that this kinda bullshit has been unavoidable in official comment sections of other platforms. Thank you for covering and debunking it as throughly as possible, though frankly it shouldn't have been necessary and most likely it won't reach those that would need it. I gotta say the vitriol this (LOUD) minority of armys has been having for Stray Kids is so weird to me, these groups share a few similarities but are different in SO many ways. Fans of the biggest group in the world should not be so bothered by the existence of a successful junior. Agreed with your thoughts for pretty much every song, especially the (already underrated as far as I'm concerned) jewel that is Bounce Back. I really found my favorite review channel here
You have no idea how much this video helped me! There's so much misinformation spread by ARMYs on social media. As a Starmy, I didn't know what to believe. Considering all the dumb journalists who have tried to defame and discredit BTS through "plagiarism" allegations, you would expect that out of all fandoms, ARMYs would really understand how messed up it is when someone critiques their fav. group for "plagiarism". But no. So thank you for addressing the "plagiarism issue" here while also doing a little musical dissection there. Also hahahah "the cuntification of I.N." is so true lmfaoooo
I get a somewhat unique situation that gives insight to both sides. I am STAY, and my wife is ARMY. So we first hand discuss what's going on in our fandoms. We're honest where our fandoms fall short and can be toxic. We can give insight on the politics and weak points. We don't always agree with each other on certain things, but it never gets out of hand. One thing we both agree to do is try to set our own fandoms straight whenever possible. Being firm but gentle with our own fandoms while also pointing out our Ults amazing talent, which is the reason we're all here in both groups. We aren't here to bash other groups, especially since neither BTS, Stray Kids, or any other group generally are out to down each other. I mean really, they are friends with so many groups. Like Bang Chan with Jungkook or their overall enjoyment with ATEEZ (not to mention Changbin being the extra in every girl group😂) We also have to remember ages. So much of STAY is actually quite young. We're talking as young as 10-12 that are active on social media. Knowing that the bulk of fans are still in their teens or very early 20's you can see where being overly sensitive and passionate can be a thing. Most of ARMY is in their 20-30's. As many in ARMY say, BTS dealt with many of the same accusations. They had to fight like hell with others in their generation and with 1st and 2nd gen dissing the color of their music. Even worse were the attacks on individual members. Then we have to remember the Sasaengs and full on Antis. They infiltrate all fandoms. Some make it their mission to enter fandoms to try and sow discord. They like to energize the younger bases into a protective frenzy, especially when they are too young to articulate their feelings and struggle with their own validation taking things as a personal insult due to their strong feelings and connections with their groups. They'll prey on older members bias since they know that's where they are weakest. They'll use half facts and misinformation knowing that older members of fandoms can't pay an insane amount of time on researching the truth because they have jobs, relationships kids, and real world problems to deal with. So getting angry/annoyed without taking the time to really find out what's going on is easier and less time consuming. Or clicking like and agree on the nonsense on general just because it's something that happens to have BTS' name on the post. Passions run higher in Kpop fandoms as a rule because of how much access we have to our idols. With social media, even more of their presence influences us to feel personal connections. This also can cause problems because we feel so much closer to our idols than we actually are. Additionally we feel so much love from many of our groups because they address us directly. This creates an awesome community for fans and intense unity. One thing we all need to remember as fans is that these groups don't NEED us to legitimate them legally. If there is real plagiarism in music, lyrics, dance, style, or anything else....they have people for that. So unless there is legal action taken for that, it's going to be nonsense for the most part. There are only so many sounds, words, movements, and structure of style that can exist. Sometimes, things sound or look similar. Some things are just influence from things around them. Leave the legal problems to professionals. Make movements over things that matter more. Ultimately, each fandom is responsible for policing themselves and supporting its members. We need to teach each other how to see bs for what it is and reign in more fanatical individuals in comments as well as creators who make it their mission to whip up animosity for clicks for the algorithm. Anyways, this wordy response comes from a guy who is in his late 40's with an ARMY wife who is in her late 50's. (Also, I have brought my mom of 78 into Stayville on accident 😭 she is even now making a concerted effort to learn about SKZ's members and roles etc 😂 Her favorite song is Venom 🕷🕸) The point being we are of all ages, background, maturity, and stages of fans. We need to work on understanding, supporting, and disciplining each other to create a healthy environment that our idols can be proud of. TLDR: 1. Wife (ARMY) and I (STAY) discuss our fandoms. 2. Our fandoms need to do better. 3. emember, we have old and young members. 4. Beware Sasaengs and Antis.
Fun fact: U was recorded before or during rock star era (can’t remember the time) -IN vocie reminds me of a more electronic if that makes sense version of taemins tone. Hallucination gave me danger vibes -also hold my hand is a happy song lol no need to cry 😭🙏 -i also thought life is so good was the weakest solo but it was still really fun. I wish he would tell us why life is so good? -these are hip hop songs btw idk if you’ve ever listened to old school or rock hip but this is easily 60-70% hip hop. It’s just not a crazy rap. -1.hold my hand, 2. As we are 3. Railroad 4. Unfair 5.hallucination 6. Youth 7. Ultra 8.life is so good (based on how much I’ve listened to each song -1.bounce back 2. Walk-in on water 3. U ft tablo Sorry a lengthy comment but I was adding as I listened. I think I can say I disagree with a lot of the things you said after watching like 20 other videos on this comeback but yeah it makes sense how you would think this album would go on replay but in my opinion it was just rushed. It seems like you said a expiremental release which is why it’s labeled a special album. Still i think it was a good time to release a project like this bc it’s strictly advertised to stays who keep up with them. Kpop fans probs don’t keep up with other groups during the holidays (me) Some thing I do wish in the future is that we get more of walk-in on water and bounce back. I had mix feeling on walking on water but I’ve listened to the song for like 3 hour since its came out 💀it’s grown on me a lot and I’ve excepted it as a silly hip hop song that’s fun. HAN NEEDS TO RELEASE THE Exploct ver of bounce back the money I would pay… I need the industry (jype) to just let them say cus words atleast on besides their already cussing live 😞
The comment is well thought, the analysis is great and I am signing a non-existent petition for the Bounce Back explicit version release, ver one or whatever name it may have. The released one is fire and my love for hip hop is enjoying it and every beat it contains, still, would go crazy just to hear the original version of the track even once. Still couldn’t figure out my top list, every song has something to it, especially in the production value, just the sounds alone make me start loving the tracks again and again. I would love to name them all. So the vague top faves are Walking on Water (Hip), U, Bounce Back, As We Are, Railways (not in the stated order). The other ones are still at the top for me nonetheless, can’t figure it out yet. As I start thinking of it, the tracks have so many tiny details I can not leave out of the equation (Hallucination, Ultra, So Good, Youth) and the vibes and senses (Unfair, Hold My Hand), so they confuse me even more, I just stick to not choosing the faves with this release. Their mixing and arrangement of EVERY track on the album is on another level so I just keep on listening to hear more and more.
Bout the harry potter line (also nemo, imo), well, you forgot they're Stray Komedians, of course they have to sprinkle a lil taste of humor in their songs lol---one thing that I love bout 'em actually.
Its so interesting to see so many different opinions here. Seems like everyone has a different way of ranking their favourite tracks, and different opinions on their quality and where they sit in skz's discography. We really are a diverse fanbase 😅
12:05 im new to your channel so i haven't watched your review on chk chk boom, but personally i feel completely opposite about the completeness of the song. i felt that chk chk boom felt more complete compared to wow but that's just my opinion hahaha i just found it interesting that we had completely different opinions my ranking of the solo songs (completely based on my tastes and my opinions): 1. As We Are - Seungmin (tearjerker T^T) 2. Hold My Hand - Han (hanpop on top) 3. Youth - Lee Know 4. Hallucination - I.N 5. Ultra - Changbin 6. Railway - Chan 7. Life is So Good - Hyunjin 8. Unfair - Felix
I miss the days when people just listened to music without over analyzing everything. Don’t like an album? Then don’t listen to it. And the whole fan wars crap, my god, do y’all live in a bubble where only your group exists. Ffs. I’m too old for this shit.
I'm kinda sad that my fav of the more recent SKZ albums "ATE" and also my favorite title since Maniac "Chk Chk Boom" getting lowkey roasted but this is also one of my favorite part of the community. Everyone has different tastes in music and the fact that I don't like a SKZ song doesn't mean it's bad. They experiment with so many genres and will continue to do so. Personally, HOP wasn't for me. The songs I loved were Hold My Hand (There just isn't one single Han Jisung song out there that failed me) and Railway. I also liked Bounce Back and As We Are but I don't really know how often I would return back to listen to them in the future.
Wonderful review, absolutely on point with everything. While I would likely rank the songs differently, that would be mostly based on vibes, since the points you've made are excatly what stood out for me. I feel that a lot about this release was not done to allow its full potential, from the advertisement as a hip hop special album, to the timing when it was announced and released (end of the year, so close to giant and ate, so close to the ticket sales to the second half of the tour, etc), which is a bit sad because all in all this is one of my favourite albums in terms of how much I have been replaying it. Again, amazing job on the video.
Thank you for giving a good overview/explanation of the nonsense - the amount of misinformation floating around has been really annoying - I also don't use twitter anymore, but I still ran into it. As to the album itself, I very much enjoyed it. Given that I knew the solos were going to be on it, I didn't have any expectations of it being a full hip-hop album (though, tbh, I personally wouldn't really want that), so I wasn't disappointed in that aspect. I also preferred Bounce Back, but Walkin' on Water totally grew on me (I might also like the hip version a tiny bit better, but really, both are good). I loved U, and didn't think it was out of place, but I don't really put a lot of importance on 'cohesion' in an album. I do disagree on your ranking of the solo songs (Railway would still be top, but Hyunjin's song is up there for me), but such is personal preference. All the songs were good. Anyway, thank you for the video!
(edited a while after: the Harry Potter line grew on me 😂 I'm on board now) Changbin is my bias, but the Harry Potter line 😂 yeah, I cringe-laughed. Also, I kind of disagree with U being "not super out of place", it feels mega out of place for me and it's a skip for me every time it comes along because of that, it takes me out of the vibe. Maybe I'll give it a chance by listening to it outside of the context of the album :) But overall I absolutely love love love this album, and I'm saying that as someone who didn't really gel with Ate or Giant much, so I was biting my nails before the release. I can't stop bopping my head to like 90% of it, and the solos are amazing ❤ One thing I wish skz would stop doing lyrically though, is or other variations of . You've proven how awesome you are by now, I want to hear the next chapter of that. I get that lyrics like that are part of their general hiphop background, but for me it's getting a little stale.
@@Lizzy.v_r I see what you mean, but for me ultimately the following songs are kind of the same/similar in terms of message: Thunderous, S-class, God's Menu, Mountains, Giant, Walking On Water, Super Bowl and errr honestly probably forgot a few. Like I said, I get that this kind of posturing is part of 3racha's hiphop background, but it's time for the next chapter. You know, like how G-dragon doesn't have to prove himself because everyone already knows he can back it up so he drops Power; still a bit of posturing but not for its own sake. Stray Kids need to find what their version of Power is, because they've honestly already proven they're big enough to back it up.
I kind of wonder if Han wrote that Harry Potter line since he is the Potter fan and later talks about basilisk. If you watch AndyandJas review of the song, they give an explanation of the meaning of that line since they're Potter fans. I never finished one of those books, so the explanation went over my head.
@@fayfumiko6574I always found hateful comments from antis bashing either Han/Changbin rap in SKZ MVs. I think both of them read them too. The comment will always be like "Changbin rap verses in X_song is much better than Han", " Changbin rap verses in X_song are cringy". Little that they know that Changbin & Han did swap their rap lyrics in certain songs. Changbin Megaverse rap is written by Han. So if there's nonsense comment about rap flow/lyrics, they're antis, not STAY. They never watch the song recording video.
honestly, i have my fave tracks in hop album but its top 5 for now which are walkin on water, railway, hallucination, youth and ultra. I don't have an idea for the other tracks just yet since I'm still torn
I’m ARMY, I’ve got it tattooed on my chest, but during this break, Stray kids have been keeping me really entertained and happy and I really don’t see a reason to make blames out out of something that’s not even a problem. Chan has always praised BTS, I would dare to say he’s an example of leadership, as much as Namjoon is. This men are out here trying their hardest, and sacrificing a lot to be good rol models to their fans, and I’m sure this is not what they would expect from you. Don’t be petty, and remember when BTS was given the same treatment in the past. Do better.
By the way, `Cheese´ is one of my favorite SKs’ songs, I had never made a connection to Butter ever 😂hahahaha Just the nature, style, and INTENTION of both song are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! `Butter´is a fun summer truck for global masses with and R&B funk sound, `cheese’ is a hip hop diss track for haters 😅
Gracias por este video!! estoy contigo, el drama es demasiado y completamente ridículo!! Y sinceramente creo que lo único que a veces provocan este tipo de "pleitos" es que las personas no fans del genero crean que todos los si fans son iguales
10:29 well, Hyunjin said hey wanted this song, the album actually, to be simple, yet spiced up in a way that changes the taste entirely (like dipping nachos in hot sauce) So the "cut and dry, boo, bap hip hop" was on purpose
honestly the reason was for U bring on hop is because of the lmb boycott that unfortunate collab set back everything because it was obvious ate was a last minute switch up I mean the totally ditched the concept they had for it in the teaser the boys said they rushed to make it after they left the US from promoting lmb and the date most stays expected skz to have a comeback was pushed back
lol the way you're saying "smoothly through" went 'smoothly' in time with lee know's explaining the WOW's choreo 'splash!' part... coincidence? or in purpose?
The only track that kills menus ultra when Changbin says he overcame the pain and became a giant Ant ant… like I can’t unhear it. Still on repeat as my gym song though 😂
i did enjoy the cb. skz released like a song/ week this year including skz records and all the osts in kr and jpn. that’s a lot of music, especially as they write and compose all/ most of their work. the time it takes to finish a song is probably in the tens if not hundreds of hours so i understand why they might make a song under 3 minutes. to me the time doesn’t matter as long as the track feels finished/ cohesive. there were some amazing songs on this album i keep returning to bounce back, walking on water hip ver and u. hallucination, railway and hold my hand are my solo song faves. i feel like due their insane schedules/ them just being overworked means they might not have all the time they would in an ideal word want to spend on a track. chan has over 200 komca credits in under 7 yrs. that’s over 28 songs/ year and it’s so impressive, even feels a little insane. if jype wouldn’t be so hellbent on making as much money as possible out of skz, i’d suggest not putting an emphasis on how many albums they release in a year. skz make amazing music, i know myself and stay would happily wait for it. i will always prioritize their health over their work and output 💖 sry i kinda just yapped a bunch. i hope u got what i was going for in the end 😣
Este álbum osea HOP fue como regalo especial ya que es un álbum especial en cambio ellos normalmente por año suben 2 álbumes y de 7-10 canciones sueltas ya sean osts, soundtrack,ED,OP o skzrecord
😆😆😆😆😆 im so sorry but this genuinely made me cackle so thank you for that Stray kids is wireshread's ultimate fav Kpop group, I assume stray kids has a special place in this channel's heart, thus I can kinda expect this channel to love/ "be obsessed" with whatever stray kids music or news come out
Cos their god is bts and they will die defending them. And also they don't care about their life and think defending their faves and putting down other groups will give them money. @ffx-icis.19
*havent fully watched the video yet but the whole album gave me a whiplash (shoutout to aespa) they called it a special album for a reason i guess. after walkin on water and bounce back none of the songs make sense to be in the one and same album but its just the members solo they performed in concerts put together in an album. they could have released it as skz player mixtape and called it a day but i guess albums makes more money. i wish theyd have released 12 hip hop infused soundtracks instead. i just wish theyd calm down a bit and stop releasing albums i am not a new stay but i do keep tabs on them and the amount of content they put out- i never witnessed that from any group i cared about
not super important but i find it an interesting topic: the amount of content Stray kids put out is pretty average tbh, they were overall a bit busier earlier in their career. 2019 for example where they released 3 albums with music video's for almost all tracks, preperations for and the start of a world tour, SKZ code etc. While they were definitely still busy this year, they seem to be taking more time for themselves compared to them back then and also other groups now. Enhypen for exaple released 3 albums this year and were touring (2 seperate world tours) for most of the year while keeping up with personal content, vlogs, en-o'clock, variety show appearences, kcon, MAMA and multiple other festivals and award shows. Zerobaseone had a similarly busy schedule with 3 korean albums, 2 japanese releases, a world tour, zbtving, multiple fan-cons, multiple festivals, every award show of the year (exept mma because the were touring that day) and more. I'm only replying because this topic intrigues me so i definitly hope that i don't come off as rude :)
@if I’m going to be honest enhypen and stray kids were worked around the same amount but enhypen more bc of constant tours. Stray kids literally started promoting giant album giant 2 months after ate and than started hop (it broke a record for quickest comeback) 2 days after. Every song on hop except for U and bounce back will have a MV. Giant has 2 MV. ATE has 4. They did 4 songs for ost this year. Performed at billboard, Ate world tour, and a lot of other things I rather just make a video about… it’s more than before just bc of the timing between things. I hope they get breaks. Txt is getting a break but I desperately hope enhypen does to there was no reason for sm to make them release so many albums than do tours.
@sitaraeyen3981 maybe not rude but possibly very misinformed. I'm trying to not take offense at "the amount of content Stray Kids put out is pretty average tbh," because I know you didn't mean it in a mean way, but man if we don't require and force ourselves to look at - not just what's visible with the eye - but also all the behind-the-scenes work, then calling what they put out "average" could be seen as SUPER DISMISSIVE. First and foremost, Stray Kids SELF PRODUCE. Not "self produce" in the way other fandoms like to use the term - "oh our rapper wrote their three lines of the song and is credited in the lyrics with 3 other lyricists so we SeLf pRoDuCe." Or, "oh one of our members assisted 10 other producers to compose 1 or maybe 2 songs on an album so we SeLf pRoDuCe." Nah. That DEFINITELY ain't it. Stray Kids write ALL of their songs (save for an OST where they are asked to perform, or Japanese tracks where they need assistance for translations - but know they had already written the entire song in Korean by themselves first). The composing of a song is MAINLY 3racha with others assisting them. Bang Chan is listed as an arranger for the vast majority of their songs. Bang Chan or 3racha directs the recording sessions THEMSELVES! Now, I LOVE Enhypen. Saw them in Chicago this year. But...they DON'T self produce. It's not even remotely comparable in terms of time involved. You first mentioned SKZ's 3 albums "with m/v's for almost all tracks" in 2019. (Side note, they've had 3 albums and 3 singles released in 2024.) So there were 12 total m/v's in 2019 - and I'm even giving you street videos (2), the music AND performance video for Side Effects, and Gone Days that isn't on any of the 3 albums you're referencing, and literally came out Dec 26th. By the end of this year, including the solos and holding true to the same standards I did for counting your 2019 videos, they'll have a total of 19 m/v's. Take away the solos and it's still 10 (only 2 shy of 2019). (This is all assuming there will be no video for Bounce Back or U.) So 2019 had 12 m/v's and 2024 has 19 at this point. And 5 out of the 10 group videos had choreography (as did some of the solos). So, I'm sorry, but Enhypen's not-self-produced 3 albums this year pale in comparison in regards to "amount of work" to SKZ's self produced 3 albums and 3 singles. For the most part Enhypen gets to wait on writers and producers to create the songs until they call them in to sing it in the studio. And this is no shade to Enhypen. They have really good music and I'm sure they put in hard work on that they do contribute to, but again the total amount of work to complete an album is just not the same. Comparing old SKZ to new SKZ isn't fair either. Old SKZ had less recognition and power in the industry. Because of that, they weren't asked to do as much above and beyond music. Priorities change for a new group vs an established group. I'm personally not a fan of brand ambassadorships, but they are a HUGE part of Kpop whether we like it or not. A newer group isn't being asked to do all of that at the scale of the established group. Versace for Hyunjin. Louis Vuitton for Felix. Other brands for the other members. This requires showing up for fashion weeks/shows, ad shoots, walking the runway if you're Felix (!), etc. SKZ as a group being ambassadors for Hilfiger required multiple ad shoots, travel etc. That one also got them the invite this year that made them the FIRST Kpop group ever to attend the Met Gala as a group. Magazine shoots. Interviews. Variety content. Being asked to be a part of other projects is another example. Deadpool is an example of this. There were all kinds of extra promotions that went along with this that Disney/Marvel/Ryan wanted for the benefit/promotion of the movie itself not just for SKZ promo (although they benefited as well!). All of these things are gonna create a HUGE shift for an established group vs a new group in regards to where time is being spent. Regarding other content, you act like they haven't done much. Just going through what you mentioned and what I found, I'm not seeing this "lack of content." Here's what I see: finished up 2 Kids Show early this year, One Kids Room (8 ep), Song by (Seungmin's show), festival docuseries (2 part), Racha Log (3 ep), STAYweeK activities, SKZ CODE (24 ep), SKZ VLOG (8 ep), SKZ-TALKER (8 ep), making of videos, dance practice videos, numerous variety shows, countless interviews, TikToks, etc. IF it is off from previous years it can't be by much. But, if you'd add in all the new activities that have been added to their schedules that I mentioned above, then if there has been a decline then that would explain it. In fairness though, the new things/content should be added as the replacement for any other decline in previous content. Now on to all the performance related things. They did a 3 date Korean fan meeting and a 4 date Japanese fan meeting, so 7 total. Sorry, but those are basically mini concerts, let's be honest. Numerous award shows or other special performances. They HEADLINED THREE MAJOR FESTIVALS! Hyde Park London, I-Days Milano, and Lollapalooza Chicago. Not one festival - THREE. Headlined! All this on top of preparing for a 41 STOP WORLD STADIUM TOUR. And by the way, the Maniac tour only ended in April 2023, and they did the Seoul Special (Unveil 13) dome tour in Oct 2023. Add in headlining 3 large scale festivals and the 7 fan meet mini concerts, that's not left then with a lot of down time either. All of these things required SKZ to learn (and relearn) new and old choreographies. Each one of those (Korean fan meetings, Japanese fan meetings, award show performances, special performances, Hyde Park, I-Days, Lolla, and now the world tour) had wildly different set lists, meaning constantly changing choreo's. Not to mention Bang Chan PERSONALLY (sometimes with the assistance of others) remixes the songs they are performing for ALL of those various performances, shows and tours. Based on these facts, imagine saying SKZ "seem to be taking more time for themselves compared to them back then and also other groups now." That's actually wild. Again, it's nothing personal and this isn't an attack on you, but I just think it's easy for us to lose sight of all that SKZ and the members do. Some of what they do we are just less privy to. Also, they just make it look easy so it's easier for us to become complacent in our knowledge and assumptions about what and how much they are actually doing. And then some of it is that we are just so well fed we just become numb to how much actually goes into that because it's our norm here. So let's not do any of that because SKZ is definitely one of the hardest working groups in Kpop objectively speaking, and they deserve every ounce of credit for that work.
Sorry, I cut my message!! 😅😬🤣🤣🤣 anyways... you back up your statements with accurate information and personal opinions based on things you like. To be fair, there are ignorant fans in all fandoms (we lost Chan´s Room for them 😮💨🙄). Still, I really appreciate when other Kpop fans TRY not to compare both groups and point out their individuality, uniqueness, and special differences. There is no need to confront 2 groups that like and admire each other, it's not like they rest each other shine every time they accomplish something. Let´s enjoy (both) the music they release and keep supporting them so they can continue doing what they love, bc they sure put in the hard work, they both deserve love and it is hard as it is already!! I hope I make myself clear, English is not my first language 🤗 Greetings from Mexico!! ☺
People hate Giant? I have identical observations about the title U and bounce back. The only thing I would switch about the solos rankings is Youth and As we are places but ALL of your remarks were on point. I have just one but that I have noticed. When Hyunjin produces without 3racha member his songs are boring, disjointed and unpolished. I also find Unfairs lyrics a bit too simple. I'm afraid that is just Lixes style coz deep was similar. We will see in the future
As for the album being all over the place - I think it was deliberate. They didn't know if fans would like the full hh album so the sprinkled solos and from the streams count i gather they were right. HH skz has its fans but its not the majority of the fandom. As a fan of most of their experimentations - i completely don't mind this albums structure
The part in question is original composition by two of the BTS rap line. I think it is a similar progression. But calling it plagiarism is pushing it. ARMY hasn’t been the same on that app since solos took over and chased out a lot of OG ARMYs.
I think my solo song rankings are Hold My Hand and Youth at #1, I can’t really pick between them too much as they both make me happy frfr. After that would be Seungmins As We Are because man’s vocals are to die for FOR REAAAAL. Then Changbins Ultra, the vibes are energizing, he did amazing and I also wish it was longer 😭 💔. Next would be Unfair by Felix, the song is emotional and I like the storytelling plus the MV was like a fairytale (wonder why 🧐 lol). After that would be So Good by Hyunjin, it’s definitely not my most favourite song of his but I don’t dislike it, it’s vibey and fun so that works for me lol. Next would be Hallucination by I.N, it’s just not my personal vibe, his voice is amazing though. After that is Railway by Bang Chan, for me it’s definitely not his best song, I’d prefer to listen to Red Lights, Drive or Connected for that kind of song. Now if I were to rank the other tracks on the album I’d do it as, #1 U as it’s probably my top song on the entire album (including solos), I really loved Tablos parts and the whole vibe of the song. After that would be Bounce Back, it’s definitely a hard hitter, I wish it was the title track lol but I get why it isn’t. After that would be both versions of Walkin’ on Water, it’s the Harry Potter line…I just can’t 💀 it makes me laugh every time. Overall the only complaint I have about the album is that I wish literally all of the songs were longer (WHY ARE 80% OF THEM UNDER 3 MINS 💀😭😭).
It's like two houses have the same door, but when we open the door, it turns out the contents of the house are different. The contents of house A are much better. That's Straykid. I am stay. Whatever their songs are, I like them. All their songs represent their identity. And as you guys know, There are many similar pieces of furniture in this world. But only the quality of the ingredients makes the difference. Straykid has furniture with the best materials made by the best furniture craftsmen. they are true musicians. they can explain every detail of the tonal components of their songs because the songs were created by them themselves. they are idols with the complete package. Meanwhile, idols who cannot write their own songs and always rely on agencies to create songs, will not be able to explain where the notes they sing come from. If there are stay who doubt Straykid's abilities and don't like their songs, then they are not the real Stay.
Even though I´m a Stay I feel nothing but respect and admiration for BTS. They are talented, handsome, and incredible idols, as a group and as individuals. I have to say that I appreciate this video where you use reasoning, facts,
Thank you for your demonstration about the WTF plagiarism ! Good to hear and giving arguments for those who were denying it but lacking the knowledge to defend their position like me😅 About the album : I totally agree with Good to hear too Bounce back is the best track, hip version is way better and I had the same feeling as you about skz choice, U being kind of lost in Hop (but finding a place like a transition with solos like Han''s one...,, by the way I would have like much more Hip Hop... and I was a little down when I've found out that the solos where the main content of the album), the ranking of solos and your judgement, so do I would like to enjoy their natural voice way more, auto tune kill my enjoyment too, etc. And like you I'm tired of half cursing. I'm waiting for SKZ, mainly 3racha's members, to explore their potential as adult artists. JYP made the choice to go with artists, they should take the concept too it's extend and cut with the old fashioned idol concept (as industrious-dolls).
Also no hate, but I myself can't actively rank Straykids songs. Just like how I can't have a favorite member, because by rule that means I'd have to pick a member I like the least as well, same for the songs. If someone asks me my favorite song in the album, I'll say I don't have one; it's the album itself. No hate against all you rankers, you do you, I'm just saying this cuz I feel like unless it's in a competition, nothing and no one deserves to be put in "last place". Just saying, no hate at all
i can't even imagine 3racha plagiarizing their colleagues, it's just obviously idiotic.
i dunno why but i feel like nowadays there are two types of army: those who follow the members and those who follows the company. The ones who follows the BTS members are the nice respectable ones. the fans who care more about artistic freedom rather than ranking and sales. however the one who follows the company only care about numbers and think that every other artist as competitors that has to be destroyed!! i’m sorry for being honest here, but i respect bts members a lot but not the company! and definitely not the company’s worshippers!! we have to protect the artists not the greedy company, and that’s including jype!!
gods this controversy... don't get me wrong i think bts are cool and all but i know the reputation SOME armys have and i don't want to be associated with that, especially after they drag my ults for something stupid like this lmao
Bang Chan did a video speaking about this matter regarding using the same or simple samples as other artists. His video was much shorter, clear and concise. Like with many things, it’s not what you do but how you do it. Their creative process is not like any other artist or group! Sorry! SKZ is unmatched 🤷🏽♀️
While both parts are super similar and probably inspired that section in 1 one or another, I assume this was intentionally done to perk up other ears, after all why not cause chaos for gain ykw
3racha are massive hip hop fans. Predebut their mixtapes all hip hop based music. Fans of hip hop that originated in the 80s and 90s. That sample has been used so many times in so many songs. It could have been inspired by any such songs esp the original by Kriss Kross. "intentionally done to perk up other ears, after all why not cause chaos for gain" that is shade. And your still stating that Skz tried to use the same sample for clout. I promise you no one outside of Armys have ever heard jump. Stray Kids songs are big for a reason. They make great music. Even then this was used in the mashup and not the released song. The way Armys found Stray Kids mashup is beyond obsessive. Edit - I just googled Jump by Bts it doesn't even have a million likes and only 28 million views. Like I promise you only Armys know that song.
Totally agree with the Walkin’ on Water Hip version by being experimental and more exaggerated makes it less liked in a sense. As for U, even though it may not fit generally for the album, it still FITS. To me, it’s a great expansion from “I Like It” and it merges great with “Hip Hop” album with TABLO being in it too. At some point, I thought they wanted to release U instead of I Like It, but the overall feeling of the song for the ATE album wasn’t it, so they postponed it till now. As for sure, I think they had more than one album project already in mind. Even though leaving us confused and uncertain for quite some time made it feel like a fever dream. Even considering the total feeling for the album itself, hip hop based tracks and vastly different solo songs wouldn’t go together as good as they do, without U breaking them in the middle. They thought it through. As a Twitter free person as well, hearing “butter and cheese” controversy made me laugh hysterically, I’ve heard it before, but never knew the context it implied. There are too many food related Kpop songs nowadays then.. who started the theme though. As for Harry Potter part, I cringe (laughing) every time I hear it, but I expected it, especially in the title. They have a good scope of mentions they do, so Harry Potter and Aquaman are not something exceptionally random, but the choice of Harry Potter is hilarious every time you hear it. Would love to hear more with Hip Hop concept “only” in mind, they do it so well, and other genres too. I was quite confused with what exactly HOP is for some time. i understood it as a skz-replay, but with a twist not only to release already fan favorite tracks, but to create something they enjoy as a group and on their own. So, the explanations of the album do it justice (+ they usually dive into it mostly for the title tracks ), the thing that lacks, is clarity in what that album exactly is. But as i understand based on the given info, it is a new project, so there should be more to come in “their genre” (I may be wrong, or misunderstanding something) Still the album sounds fresh and the layout is different compared to their other albums so it feels new and unique.
I have found a lot of Stray Kids b-sides really shine and I agree Bounce Back is one of them. I am not really a Hip Hop person....so Walking On Water is not my favorite, but it is growing on me but I have heard a lot of people seem to like the Hip version of it more than the title track. But yeah, disliked the Harry Potter line...but also didn't want them to compare themselves to Jesus after the whole god of gods in Giant....I just wish they would have left out the Harry Potter line. I love most of what they do, but I am also hoping they give us some songs coming up that I consider true Stray Kids songs....what I fell in love with. I still bought several of each of their albums and will continue to, but I get why 5 Star and Rock Star are still most people's favorites. I know they are experimenting more with pop and others for right now and I loved Chk Chk Boom...but you are right, it is missing what makes Stray Kids, Stray Kids. I enjoyed your review 😊 thanks
You are hypercritical and sensitive, just enjoy the songs or don’t listen and move on. Sorry these videos make me think like who made you the expert? But now a days everyone seems to be. Let them do their music, I think they have made enough songs about their haters.
Tbh i don't think stray kids can master saying the word fuck in a song (even tho ill admit on topline i think they ended up just saying it anyways). i think theyll end up making the word called "fuck" even more cringe and i don't think i can handle that much teenage testosterone angst they have when they say fuck cuz of the association they have with jype (who i feel create songs for moreso the tweens and teen soundscape)
Brother are you okay? Skz are a group under JYPE but their sound is completely their own. They are the experimental group that JYPE took a chance with. Their image and sound is beyond Jype and have you seen them on stage? They do in fact swear.
To accuse the most original kpop boy group today of PLAGIARISM of all things, wow... They are REALLY bored and jealous...
Armies are always jealous of Stray Kids and spew hatred on every social media.
STAYS., please do not retaliate. Just ignore them just like Chan asked us to do.
You are right. Armies always jealous
This whole it's giving Express Yourself vs. Born This Way for me. Like why do we have to put two queens agaisnt each other, They're both fun songs?
What's the difference between a special album and a regular comeback? Aren't they the same?
i love u for that
doing god's work 🙏
As a stay, I'm always delighted to see other fandoms being nice and supportive to skz.
This is the same thing I've been saying
I feel like Railway is inspired after Dpr Ian's work and I love him for that
Railway actually gave me chills and goosebumps, it’s up there for me too.
I really found my favorite review channel here
Harry Potter....referring to a well respected rapper and the fact that Changbin is a Wizard at what he does...... you're a Wizard Harry.
As I an Armystay, I am in love with both groups and both songs and love their members and their dynamics.
I feel like a lot of people make it seem like the whole song sounds similair to jump, while it's totally different 😭
also I even think that they might have made it on purpose so that the song naybe gets more attention
I thought I was the only one who cracked up with the Harry Potter lyrics! It's so CHEEESY
Like Bang Chan with Jungkook or their overall enjoyment with ATEEZ (not to mention Changbin being the extra in every girl group😂)
We also have to remember ages.
TLDR:
1. Wife (ARMY) and I (STAY) discuss our fandoms.
2. Our fandoms need to do better. 3. emember, we have old and young members.
4. Beware Sasaengs and Antis.
Fun fact: U was recorded before or during rock star era (can’t remember the time)
-IN vocie reminds me of a more electronic if that makes sense version of taemins tone. Hallucination gave me danger vibes
-also hold my hand is a happy song lol no need to cry 😭🙏
-i also thought life is so good was the weakest solo but it was still really fun.
Youth 7. Ultra 8.life is so good (based on how much I’ve listened to each song
-1.bounce back 2. Walk-in on water 3. U ft tablo
Sorry a lengthy comment but I was adding as I listened. Kpop fans probs don’t keep up with other groups during the holidays (me)
Some thing I do wish in the future is that we get more of walk-in on water and bounce back.
Help why’s the comment so long anyways I guess it’s because i really liked this vid thanks! Love to discuss stray kids
@@wandby7090 same no favs but definitely ones ive listened to constantly . How do i sign for the petition
@@PrinceOfTheSoundi wish there was one, it’s such a loss.
8:26 BAHAHAHAHHAHAHA I LAUGHED OUT LOUD I AM WHEEZING THIS IS SO STUPID
Bout the harry potter line (also nemo, imo), well, you forgot they're Stray Komedians, of course they have to sprinkle a lil taste of humor in their songs lol---one thing that I love bout 'em actually.
Its so interesting to see so many different opinions here. Seems like everyone has a different way of ranking their favourite tracks, and different opinions on their quality and where they sit in skz's discography. We really are a diverse fanbase 😅
It was and is always that way and I think it is one of the best things about their fanbase and discography. There is everything for everyone
12:05 im new to your channel so i haven't watched your review on chk chk boom, but personally i feel completely opposite about the completeness of the song. i felt that chk chk boom felt more complete compared to wow but that's just my opinion hahaha i just found it interesting that we had completely different opinions
my ranking of the solo songs (completely based on my tastes and my opinions):
1. As We Are - Seungmin (tearjerker T^T)
2. Hold My Hand - Han (hanpop on top)
3. Youth - Lee Know
4. Hallucination - I.N
5. Ultra - Changbin
6. Railway - Chan
7. Life is So Good - Hyunjin
8. Unfair - Felix
Chase Atlantic? Railway is literally a The Weeknd song, who we know Chan is a fan of.
Thank God that I left being an Army.
11:23 yes. It felt like a Magic School hangover 🥲
(edited a while after: the Harry Potter line grew on me 😂 I'm on board now)
Changbin is my bias, but the Harry Potter line 😂 yeah, I cringe-laughed.
Also, I kind of disagree with U being "not super out of place", it feels mega out of place for me and it's a skip for me every time it comes along because of that, it takes me out of the vibe. Maybe I'll give it a chance by listening to it outside of the context of the album :)
But overall I absolutely love love love this album, and I'm saying that as someone who didn't really gel with Ate or Giant much, so I was biting my nails before the release. I can't stop bopping my head to like 90% of it, and the solos are amazing ❤
One thing I wish skz would stop doing lyrically though, is or other variations of .
God will bless you SO MUCH for this video
Time to go show this to my brothers girlfriend
I'm an ARMY, but I like Straykidz too. If I would have more time, I would be a fan, but BTS is lovebombing me.
Gracias por este video!! estoy contigo, el drama es demasiado y completamente ridículo!! Y sinceramente creo que lo único que a veces provocan este tipo de "pleitos" es que las personas no fans del genero crean que todos los si fans son iguales
10:29 well, Hyunjin said hey wanted this song, the album actually, to be simple, yet spiced up in a way that changes the taste entirely (like dipping nachos in hot sauce)
So the "cut and dry, boo, bap hip hop" was on purpose
Sooo sooo soo many valid points that i agree with..!! Loveee the video ❤
honestly the reason was for U bring on hop is because of the lmb boycott that unfortunate collab set back everything because it was obvious ate was a last minute switch up I mean the totally ditched the concept they had for it in the teaser the boys said they rushed to make it after they left the US from promoting lmb and the date most stays expected skz to have a comeback was pushed back
Many songs are being released, almost all songs sound similar.
Tbh I also liked the hip version more
lol the way you're saying "smoothly through" went 'smoothly' in time with lee know's explaining the WOW's choreo 'splash!' part... coincidence? or in purpose?
Why are they so obsessed with skz?
😆😆😆😆😆 im so sorry but this genuinely made me cackle so thank you for that
Stray kids is wireshread's ultimate fav Kpop group, I assume stray kids has a special place in this channel's heart, thus I can kinda expect this channel to love/ "be obsessed" with whatever stray kids music or news come out
@soralution i meant armies sorry if i caused any misunderstanding lol
Cos their god is bts and they will die defending them. And also they don't care about their life and think defending their faves and putting down other groups will give them money. @ffx-icis.19
@@soralution you assume??? lmao
I love Bounce Back!
*havent fully watched the video yet
but the whole album gave me a whiplash (shoutout to aespa) they called it a special album for a reason i guess. after walkin on water and bounce back none of the songs make sense to be in the one and same album but its just the members solo they performed in concerts put together in an album. they could have released it as skz player mixtape and called it a day but i guess albums makes more money. i wish theyd have released 12 hip hop infused soundtracks instead. i just wish theyd calm down a bit and stop releasing albums i am not a new stay but i do keep tabs on them and the amount of content they put out- i never witnessed that from any group i cared about
Technically this isn’t a regular album it’s a mixtape or “special album”
not super important but i find it an interesting topic: the amount of content Stray kids put out is pretty average tbh, they were overall a bit busier earlier in their career.
@sitaraeyen3981
maybe not rude but possibly very misinformed.
So let's not do any of that because SKZ is definitely one of the hardest working groups in Kpop objectively speaking, and they deserve every ounce of credit for that work.
never watched a video as real as this one, i agree with every point in the video 😭
1:57 I love being twitter free as well
Omg ayyyyy I didn't know you use frootyloopz studio that's so neat!!
ARMY hasn’t been the same on that app since solos took over and chased out a lot of OG ARMYs.
especially since solo’s and shippers took over :(
I think my solo song rankings are Hold My Hand and Youth at #1, I can’t really pick between them too much as they both make me happy frfr.
As an army, literally none of us have even mentioned skz in our fandom for a while😭any “armys” who are hating on skz aren’t real armys.
i dunno why but i feel like nowadays there are two types of army: those who follow the members and those who follows the company.
@ agreed! Half the fandom is rotten, the other half is chill
gods this controversy... don't get me wrong i think bts are cool and all but i know the reputation SOME armys have and i don't want to be associated with that, especially after they drag my ults for something stupid like this lmao
Reminds me of bunnies vs illit.😂
Armies are scared of Stray Kids 🤣💔
16:39 lmao
But as i understand based on the given info, it is a new project, so there should be more to come in “their genre” (I may be wrong, or misunderstanding something)
Still the album sounds fresh and the layout is different compared to their other albums so it feels new and unique.

Tbh i don't think stray kids can master saying the word fuck in a song (even tho ill admit on topline i think they ended up just saying it anyways). i think theyll end up making the word called "fuck" even more cringe and i don't think i can handle that much teenage testosterone angst they have when they say fuck cuz of the association they have with jype (who i feel create songs for moreso the tweens and teen soundscape)
what are you talking about
Tell me you know nothing about stray kids without telling me:
Brother are you okay? Skz are a group under JYPE but their sound is completely their own. They are the experimental group that JYPE took a chance with. Their image and sound is beyond Jype and have you seen them on stage? They do in fact swear.
Harry Potter and then Jisung saying basilisk. 🫠😵💫
Han was referring to the basilisk lizard that is known to be able to walk on water. He mentioned it during the Live Countdown for the album.
@ okay. Also a coincidental tie in with Harry Potter.
