Just wanted to leave a comment and thank you for this tutorial! I was stuck with this and ended up fixing things in post. Now i've got it! Thanks! Subscribed and added that bell notification! See you in the Ecamm community!
This was so detailed with an easy to follow tutorial. Thanks to the chapters you included, I can skip to certain sections when I'm at my computer ready to practice👍🏼
Great demo - I use my old Macbook Air for my PowerPoint presentation and send it to my livestreaming Macbook Pro to Ecamm by NDI - and it works great and gives you much more control over your scene design and it - the load is spread over 2 computers
If it wasn’t you i wouldn’t know I could have connect my phone via the usb cable to do a display. Now you informing me about NDI this is Gold!!! Thanks man. Btw I think you end card needs to adjust upwards a bit
I got it to work! One question on mac how do I get SYSTEM AUDIO with my scene in ecamm? If I'm playing a google chrome or safari page in my second window? I have loopback but I can't figure why the sound is so low.
Great info in less than 10 min Doc! Will test this and I hope this will improve the quality of the screen sharing Ecamm - ZOOM way. The regular screen share gets fuzzy compared to sharing directly from ZOOM.
Thanks for the info! I followed the instructions and installed NDI. Unfortunately none of my browsers (Safari or Chrome) are recognized by NDI and I’m not able to select any of them to add as a camera source in Ecamm. The same doe Keynote and some other apps. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Aloha Doc...love your style. My experience with NewTek's NDI Scan Converter matches yours. Was good to see your recommendation for NDIScanConverter, and I agree with you that paying to play with something that works is better than struggling with freeware. However, though NewTek's scanner crashes, it does so predictably...which I can work with. I've found NDIScanConverter is very inconsistent and settings changes don't work...especially when trying to use "Display entire monitor". "Display Application Windows" is ok. It's been awhile since you recorded this. Have you run into issues?
Thank you so much for this cool hack, Doc Rock! The screenshare works fine, but there's no audio coming through - my audio comes through, but not the audio form the screenshare. (I'm testing this on Zoom) What am I missing? PS: The Zoom mic is set to Ecamm Virtual Mic.
I just wish Ecamm would add a feature like propresenter where I could send things over my blackmagic decklink duo. Different things to different screen
It does not work for me. I downloaded NDI but it moves around in the over lay. It does not stay centered. The window of safari that I use as a camera does not stay centered below my overlay. How do I get it to stay centered? When I move the safari window outside of Ecamm it should not move Safari out of center within my Ecamm overlay. What am I missing?
Doc is dropping the info!

Finally got it to work. Now i need to be able to bring in a computer
Great tip; thanks for making it easy to understand!
Game Changer!!!
Mahalo
Good video dude!!! Gonna have to get NDI sorted to upgrade my set up
NDI simplified. Thank you for this video, Doc!
You're welcome! Now I want a second ZV-1 hahahahaha
Love the way you break things down and explain. Thanks Doc

No skipping! hahahaha Thanks, catch up tomorrow for class.
Hey Doc, I finally got round to implementing this on my ecamm set up today! Your video so easy to follow! Thanks!
Thanks Doc, very interesting and definitely will give it a go
This is great Doc! I'm gonna remember to use this instead of just doing a standard screenshare
Gonna do hijack video for you soon

Thank you Doc!! Powerful video like always!! I learned how to do my presentation on keynotes like a Champion 😃🎥🔥👊🏽
Great video, like the Old school vs New way approach of explaining it all :)

If your using Loopback you took Ecamm System Audio ol’ out of the equation. You don’t use both as the serve the same function in this case.
@@DocRock whoops lol thank you

Sorry so late but you have to set privacy setting in system prefs

Thanks, Doc! Watched as you were recording Live! Love the final cut! Q. Can the cameras be locked in to position?
Yes lock the scene and or the overlay
@@DocRock Thanks Doc! Have you got a video where you show how to set your background? Is it just a layer dragged out to the full screen?
Will this work on M1 Mac Pro? Does apple silicon - using ecamm - work with NDI tools?

PS:
The Zoom mic is set to Ecamm Virtual Mic.
Set this up, but could only use with one scene. Is it possible to utilize in multiple scenes, each with a different source? Thanks
You would need a second computer or and iPad or Tablet
@@DocRock I have IPad hooked up...Do u have video n how to set up 2nd computer...Have an old Mac Mini, I could use
I just wish Ecamm would add a feature like propresenter where I could send things over my blackmagic decklink duo. Different things to different screen
Isn’t the iPad recognized natively in ecamm if it’s connected via usb?

In the File option in NDI, there is only Desktop. No other options, like Safari, ZOOM...Why?
Check the system preferences and make sure in privacy setting you have the proper permissions set
