    HI Adrian - great video. I was all set to dig out the cheapo HDMI adaptor you were showing, and then realized I didn't have the iPad to HDMI adaptor. But it turns out you can simply use USB to turn your iPad into a webcam and ultimately a camera overlay. Works just fine without going using the HDMI video capture.

    Great demo - you can do this also with NDI with the NDI HX capture app by wifi or with an Ethernet adapter on the iPad - that‘s how I connect the iPad whiteboard with Ecamm

    I love this! But I kept having trouble with the iPad HDMI adapter. So I got to thinking... All the HDMI cable is doing is making my iPad screen visible on my MacBook. Well, I can do that using AirServer. So I gave it a try and like magic, it worked. Simply install AirServer on your MacBook and mirror the iPad with your MacBook. Works like mirroring to AppleTV. The best part, is all the pesky cables go away. It's wonderful and solves a problem I've been trying to resolve for a long time. Adrian, you're awesome! Thanks for sharing this tip!

    Hey Adrian... Great video. Can you create a camera overlay over the wash background? That way, your video feed wouldn't be faded. It looks to be possible.

    • @AdrianSalisbury
      @AdrianSalisbury  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely but the whole point was fading I to the background so the text was prominent

    • @chamelian60
      @chamelian60 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AdrianSalisbury I'm thinking having a transparent PiP, so you have the best of both. From light coloured background, wash overlay, then a transparent camera overlay. Your text is still prominent but your face isn't faded out.

    Hi Adrian, thanks for your videos. I am new to Ecamm and have used your affiliate link. :) I am following every step and everything works EXCEPT the transparency thing. Hi Adrian, thanks for the great instructional video. I've downloaded GoodNotes => and when I do the overlay, despite choosing 'Mirror Presenter Page', the menu section still shows at the top when using the 16:9 ratio. Is there a way to make this disappear other than by expanding the ratio or zooming in?

    • @AdrianSalisbury
      @AdrianSalisbury  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How odd. It’s not defaulting to mirror entire screen is it? Not sure what to recommend I’m afraid

    • @jamesmccracken8125
      @jamesmccracken8125 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AdrianSalisbury - you're right :-), it does seem odd, and it isn't defaulting to mirror the entire screen. I've played around with the 4:3 ratio, and can make that work by expanding things out a bit (so that the part of the screen that has the menu is pushed 'above' the view on ecamm.
