    in my country we learned to combine the outcome and goal together to make it SMART(specific, measurable, accurate, reliable, timely)
    example:
    at the end of the 8 hour shift, following nursing and collaborative interventions, pt will experience normal breathing pattern, aeb spo2 stat being 95% or greater.
    i have a problem with the related factor and sometimes im stuck on the interventions

      denzelswifey86 Haha I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're fun, but they are pretty useful as an additional study aid in learning about labs and medications and making connections between various disease processes and the co-morbidities associated with them.

    Great video. One quick thing though, you got your visceral and parietal pleuras backwards. Visceral lines the lung, parietal lines the chest cavity.

    The only thing more painful than writing a care plan is grading one.

    • @NurseBass
      @NurseBass  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Haha I can't imagine. Especially when you've got multiple ones to grade. That must be torture. Especccciaallly after having real-world Nursing experience. My wife is a Nurse and she has said on multiple occasions, "Care Plans are the dumbest thing ever." Lol.

    • @NurseBass
      @NurseBass  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshua Stroup You're welcome bro, and thank you! I know there are tons out there but the only resource that I am even familiar with in regards to Care Plans is Lippincott. It is actually part of our eBooks that we had to purchase for Nursing School. But it's basically an online database and it comes with sooooooo much more than just Care Plan stuff. But it's very pricey. I'm sure there are great Care Plan resources out there at your disposal. And most definitely your instructors will have some suggestions for sure.

    I was wondering if you ever use drugguide.com to cite drug info for care plan interventions and if so how do you cite it in the interventions part and in the reference page? for example

    • @NurseBass
      @NurseBass  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Maribel Alcala I actually don't ever use that website. But in regards to citations and reference pages, I simply use APA format. Perdue owl has some good information on how to cite in APA. :D

    Hey Brad, what exactly is negative pressure? I never understood that concept. Does it mean there's more pressure in the body (or lungs) compared to the atmospheric pressure?

    • @NurseBass
      @NurseBass  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's like a vacuum. Think of the thin space in between the lungs and the inside lining of the pleural cavity. Imagine you take two glass microscope slides and place a drop of water on one of the slides. Now lay the other slide on top so that there is that thin layer of water in between the two slides. You can easily slide the two slides back and forth, but it would be extremely difficult to actually pull them directly apart. This is because that drop of water is acting as a vacuum. It's creating that negative pressure. And this is the exact same concept of the visceral and parietal pleura and the fluid that separates the two. Hope that helps lol

    • @Filipinogenetics
      @Filipinogenetics 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nurse Bass Yes! Thank you for that detailed explanation. You are super knowledgable and haven't even graduated nursing school yet!

    • @NurseBass

      +careplanx It's made by Lippincott. I think it's called Lippincott Advisor. It comes with much more than just Care Plan info. It's got diagnosis, diseases and conditions, signs and symptoms, diagnostic tests, treatments, medications, patient handouts. And it's all updates every 10 days. Pretty cool
