For Whom The Bell Rings - school life in 1965

A day in the life of a British grammar school in the 1960s, filmed at Urmston Grammar School for Boys (Manchester UK) in 1965.
Although it looks very naive now, this film gives a portrait of what school life was like in the 1960s ...caps, short trousers, satchels, conkers, teachers in gowns... ...and no sign of safety spectacles in Science lessons.
The film was made principally for 2 reasons:
--to show prospective parents and pupils what school life was like,
and
--to allow pupils to see themselves on film (in 1965 almost none had seen themselves moving).
