    Instead of preparing every design individually (which can be time-consuming), I suggest ensuring that you create your designs to fit within the required printable format specified by the supplier, which is often 4500x5500 pixels at 300 dpi. By doing so, you save yourself from the time-consuming task, and you can ensure that your designs will always maintain the size and placement you have chosen. I use this approach, and it works perfectly fine for me.

      @jdfrederickson ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you scale the design to size on the figma board? When I use the creative mat it's always too small. :/

      @trangluuha2034How is Merchize. You are the first person I have seen that use them. I saw a few reviews for them, but people weren’t that happy with them. I would really like to ry them, but am worried, especially about the shopping.

      @trangluuha2034 Thanks for the info! How is the quality of the colors in the prints by Merchize? On Printify, when you select the 'realistic' image option in RGB to see how it will; look on the product, especially the color pink seems to be a problem, it turns into purple which completely ruined the design.

    I actually had my hubby write me a similar script when I had a position where I had to generate THOUSANDS (literally, to exaggerating) of digital ads for 20 car dealerships. It took it from being like a 8 hour process for 20 dealerships to like 10 mins for all of them. It was WILD. I had thought something like this had to have been possible but just haven't put the effort into looking into it. So grateful I saw your video pop up! Definitely going to play around with it and maybe get my husband to help me tailor it if I need. Now if only there was some way to automate etsy listings, the last tedious bit!

    This is great stuff!!! I had to watch the previous design tutorial video over and over again to learn how to use Figma since I'm used to using Canva and Pixlr to create my designs. This stuff seams like it's way over my head until I try it over and over again. I did figure out how to do the distressed overlay for the block text in Figma, thank you for that. There are a lot of designs I can create now that I wouldn't have been able to before watching your videos. I may have to watch this one a bunch of times, but I know once I get it down this will save so much time in the long run.

    Alek, I'm just getting my head around these wonderful ideas you've been sharing. But I'm confused about the complete picture with all the building blocks (Photoshop, Figma, Midjourney, Printify & Etsy/Shopify). Could you PLEASE share a rough flowchart/pic with what Figma (for example) is nec for in the larger scheme of things? I thought (maybe) PS was the only nec bit for getting images over to Printify. So I'm confused about the need for mockups with Figma. Thank you very much.

    What's your suggestion to make sure the product in these external mockups matches exactly the product you're shipping to customers? For example, If I search for mockups of candles, they will most likely look different than what I'm selling

    • @seaofmemes8796

    Generating mockups is by far one of the most time consuming task. I created a mockup generator myself using similar tech. It's an absolute must. I wonder how large the demand is for such a tool. Especially one with flexibility and easy to customize for different scenarios? Alek are you seeing the demand to prioritize the feature, as mentioned in your video?

    Thank you so much for the video. Once I set up everyhting in my Etsy Shop, automating the processes is the next step. Right now I am using recorded Actions in Photoshop to create my Mockups for Digital Art. It saves so much time. I only need to record the whole process once, then I can do it over and over again for all the other designs. As long as you leave everyhting untouched when it works. Photoshop Actions can be a mess if you dont do it properly 😅

    Hi Alek thanks for all the value you provide to all of us ...I have one question about this one though I downloaded the script but my mac doesn't want to open it it says I do not have an application that supports this file any advice ? is that for anyone else ?

      The script won't open - you have to use is in Photoshop like I show you in the video

    Thanks for the helpful video. Is there any reason why the rectangle shape tool in Photoshop can't be used instead of having to go to Figma?

    Hi Alek, I love this video and the script, thank you so much. The only issue I have come across (and apologies if this has already been covered) is that your image must be set as a background to work. Easiest way to do that is to go to "Layer - New - Background from Layer" with your required image layer selected

    • @TheLaserCutLife
      @TheLaserCutLife ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also have a code tweak that means you don't need to tick the "edit smart object" and "fit image" boxes if anyone wants it

      Ok I figured it out:
      In line 176 I added --> dlg.msgPnl.EditImage.st.value = true;
      Same after fit image line --> dlg.msgPnl.FitImage.st.value = true;
      Investigating the forum I found messages from JJMack and I almost cried 😢😢

    Hey Alek, I've followed the steps but ended up with an error stating that "required folders missing, d/mockup/obj1"
    I have selected the folder that contains the obj0 for the obj0 but what is this obj1 folder for?
    ---
    I have solved the issue by removing the new smart layer that you have created and made invisible at 17:42. This will help me a lot!! Thanks a lot!

    • @alekSheffy
      @alekSheffy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great! So it's working properly now?
      -
      It's able to apply designs to multiple smart objects, so if you had a mockup with two shirts, obj0 would apply design 1 to smart object later 1, and obj1 would apply design 2 to smart object later 2.
      I hope that makes sense.

      I am using Photpea, everything in this video works precisely the same EXCEPT Running the script. In Photopea the scripts can be copied, pasted, and saved, but running them doesn't do anything. I looked at the code, but have no idea how to adjust it. Photopea is so similar to AdobePS, I hoping maybe you have some insight in how to get this done?

      Thank you Alek for all of your inspiring and incredibly helpful videos, they are really well done and appreciated!
      I ran into this issue in Photoshop 2025, there may be a better way, but here is how I was able to resolve it. My mockup PSD had 3 Smart Object Layers. The top layer was the new hidden 0% opacity "your design here" copy layer from Alek's tutorials at the top. Second layer was a reflection layer. Third layer was the original "your design here" layer. The error I received was a missing obj1 and obj2 folder. Essentially the script was looking for 3 folders (obj0, obj1, obj2) for the three corresponding smart layer objects. I resolved the issue by 1) Adding an obj1 and obj2 folder. 2) Adding copies of my designs from obj0 folder into obj1 and obj2 folders. After that the script worked great, and a single batch of finished mockup files were in the Export folder. Hope that helps!

    Can you make one for Windows and put the link also in your description🙏

    I do have a question, I wondered if you knew how to add a watermark to protect your designs over the smart object sine the smart object has to be on the top?
    Thanks so much for your time and all the work you do!

    Great video! I just have one issue so far. I thought i was doing it all like you did, but when i go to upload to Printify, the sizes aren't what i need them to be (much smaller). Is there a way to increase or adjust the size of the creating mat so when i fit the design, they'll be the size i want? (I am using the creating mat that doesn't say small in the description.)

    Hey Alek, what an amazing tip. I downloaded the script and works like a charm. I wanted to ask you, I am not sure I remember correctly, but in one of your videos you mentioned a script/or website(?) where someone can resize images in multiple ratios at once without distorting them. I can't seem to find it. Which one was it?
    Thank you again :)

    Hi Alek. What an awesome video!! Thank you! I just have one question... I followed all of your instructions with the exception of designing the mockup in Figma. I did it in Photoshop. I've just run the script and received this error message. "Error: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop. - The command "Edit Contents" is not currently available. File/d/Photoshop/Automated%20Mockups/obj0/1png". I have the latest version of Photoshop. Is Photoshop the issue, or have I made a mistake?
