Daniel Corey jontron makes me laugh but he is not nearly as nuanced or as critical as KBash is. Same with PBG. The only TH-camr I know that is similar to KBash is either Projared or Cosmonaut, but even then, KBash just always brings up stuff I don’t think about. KBash is one of my faves simply because he makes me think and I love the ways he breaks things down.
I played a lot of Seasons growing up, and the thing I remember most is thinking that Link's sword was some kind of magical morphing sword that would turn into a pickaxe, because of how the 2nd frame of the sword swinging animation worked
Awakening, Ages, and Seasons are in my top 8 Zelda games. I freaking love them! I had a mini guidebook that you flipped over and covered both games. The book is so small and cute, I had it in my backpack at school to help me beat these games. My best friend had seasons and I had ages. Of course we traded and it was awesome.

"items are fairly weak in this game" links awakenings version of the boomerang: "am i a joke to you?!" heres a fun easter egg: in the original version (items were severely nerfed in the remake. not bad, but not what they were in the original) take said boomerang you get from a long, grueling trading sequence, and use it on the final form of the final boss (the part where you need to shoot arrows at its eye while dodging its arms) use the boomerang here and: the boss goes down in a single hit. A. SINGLE. HIT. it was op before. but not even the master sword, the bane of evil, could kill ganon in any battle in a single hit. oh yeah. las boomerang prolly could one shot crenando.

I’d argue that Link’s Awakening set the series standard for Storytelling...but that’s just me. Yes it’s simple but it’s well contained, and quite frankly that’s all you need. Even the “broken” items support this-drag your feet all you want, but by the end of the game you’ve not only DONE everything, but you’re so OP that the only task left to do IS what you’ve been instructed to do from the start...no matter how much you’ve been avoiding it ‘cause of the moral implications. And it’s the *Story* that does that moreso than any other game in the series to date. Everything works *with* the story, not against it/like the story’s an afterthought. And that’s...Nice for a Zelda game. Yeah some of the rings were throwaway, but that was kinda the point-you never knew what you were gonna get. Some were novelty (like the transformation rings, although if they had effects on NPCs or Monsters what would’ve been great), some were Cursed (literally...), some were...okay? (Half-damage to specific things, plan what you think you’ll need), or had pros&cons, or were genuinely Really Good (Also I never mind swapping. It gave me a second to breathe, and I often needed to pause for whatever reason, anyway.) I enjoyed the Time&Seasons overworld puzzles in both games, but I can honestly say I got WAY more lost in Ages than Seasons. Foe combat and puzzles...I honestly never noticed *that* much of a difference. (Although...those freaking minigames just to progress in Ages. WHYYYYY... I hate them so much. That one *did* have me reaching for a guide with the Goron Fetchquest that’s a trading sequence all of its own...only you’re after the Mermaid Keys vs a sword upgrade. The LA Required Trading Quest wasn’t nearly as painful and you got cool interactions out of it as a bonus.) But, Ages had the better story. You got to *know* all the reoccuring characters. They weren’t just NPCs...which can’t be said for Seasons, where you don’t really have any meaningful interactions with anyone. But even the oneshot NPCs in Ages, again, Supported the Story (which gave depth to the Flame of Sorrow from the Linked Game if you even bother to talk to the NPCs. And even if you don’t, you’re rewarded with Cause&Effect cutscenes) I will give Seasons that it had more frequent use of its Gimmick Mechanic than Ages did, which was nice (and could often be used to solve the overworld in multiple ways, especially if Link didn’t have certain items yet). But it would’ve been nice to have more than just a random self-proclaimed prophet stalking you actually noticing things going NUTS. You kinda had more reactions from the Subrosians and their dislike of the Temple than you did from Horon and Sunken NPCs about the insane weather. (Which, Onox had his own Flame to light...) But when I think of a Good zelda dungeon? (One that uses my items, has moderately complex puzzles, progressive difficulty), I think of the GBC games. (Especially since they don’t haphazardly tack “temple” or “dungeon” onto everything! They’re just simply Lairs/Labyrinths that house your mcguffins. No pretense about using gimicky words that imply Worldbuilding Connotations liiike...say...all the 3D Zeldas?

Seasons and Ages were my childhood. I borrowed them, I owned them, First experience with secrets and gamefaqs. Combining the Endgame stories were insane.

They need to remake the oricale games useing the LAR engine as they'er great games that deserve more love I'd argue these were peak 2D zelda only held back by number of buttons for input

Kinda funny how as a kid I couldn't beat Oracle of Ages for the love of all that's sacred. In fact, I think I didn't get even to half of the game, but there's something in the graphics and the world that made it feel, dunno, alive. Years after I moved and got my bachelor's degree I got to replay Oracle of Ages and beat it (fuck the golem boss near the end though, I died way too many times before figuring out how to beat him). Currently seriously considering playing Oracle of Ages even if just for the nostalgia value for a second adventure via the linked game.
I liked Oracle of seasons better. I like some puzzles, but oracle of ages had far too many, it was like every room of a dungeon was a breath of the wild shrine just to get one key.
Love the GB Zelda games (GB and GBC, haven’t played the other handheld games much) To the point where a part of me doesn’t want to play the remake to alter my nostalgia. Although my sons are asking for it, lol
It's actually an excellent and nearly 1:1 remake with a lot of love and respect for the original. And I say this as someone whose love for the original is borderline unhealthy. Get it! Be the ultimate parent!
The Oracle games annoy me so b/c of so many freaking one way paths in the Overworld. E.g. horizontally it goes [rock][pit][grass]. In that situation you can travel west to east by picking up the rock and jumping over. however as soon as you leave the screen you cannot go back East to West. And these are EVERYWHERE and not just the occasional "easy way back" like jumping down off hills/mountains.
You can obtain the Zora Flippers early? I thought that if you took Dimitri to the waterfall cave before certain flags are met, the old man won't appear.

You are being way to critical on the Oracle games. The games were heavily improved on from Links Awakening. Oracle games were some of the best to ever hit the GameBoy lines.
